Steve Harris had forgotten why Mallia Mamet was here, and thought that just because Mallia didn't care about the trending topic, she could be completely fine.
But Mallia stepped back.
Originally, Mallia was anxious to leave, but now she was in no hurry, feeling that she might be able to help by staying, even if it was just to help Benjamin Swantz, pretending to be his friend.
"I'm not going back now! There are still things that haven't been dealt with! If you came because of the trending topic, then you've seen it, it's just some people getting worked up, but they are all small issues!"
Couldn't she explain exactly what the issue was to him?
Steve Harris felt something was amiss. Hadn't Mallia been asking for his help late at night? Why did she now seem so distant, pushing him away as if he were just an outsider?
"Yes, Mister, if you don't have any other business, you might as well leave. After all, this is not a fun place to be!"
