Walking on tiptoes back into the house, George Flack looked around and saw nobody downstairs. He started to feel relieved, hoping that Aria Grant had stayed in the guest room last night. Maybe no one had noticed that he didn't come home!
So, with hopeful thoughts, George first went to the guest room. As he pushed open the door, the quilt was puffed up just right. He breathed a sigh of relief; surely Aria was inside.
But when George fully entered the room, he realized something was amiss—the puffed-up quilt was empty! Where could Aria be?
Could she be in their bedroom? The thought made George feel unbearably tight in his chest, but he didn't hesitate in his actions.
He rushed to the bedroom and, sure enough, he saw Aria Grant!
She lay there so quietly, covered with a quilt, her hands resting on top of it. She looked just like Sleeping Beauty.
