Aria Grant found the food she was chewing hard to swallow, while Benjamin Chudley, sitting next to her, coughed a couple of times.
"Ahem ahem"
Aria initially thought Benjamin's coughs were used to mask awkwardness, but to her surprise, Benjamin chimed in, "Ivy, it can't just be you who's pleased with me, what matters most is your mom's consent. After all, if she disagrees, there's not much we can do, right?"
Aria glared at Benjamin, feeling as though he were seriously ill. They were clearly business partners, so why did it sound like they were about to have some sort of a relationship when he spoke?
While Benjamin was uttering these words, he kept looking at Aria. How could the gossip-loving Ivy resist watching such good drama? She looked on eagerly, like a matchmaker eyeing off the pair.
"Okay, eat your food."
Aria didn't know what to say, she simply urged the two to stop talking nonsense.
