Four days have passed since I regained consciousness, I already could walk during these days, but Lilia insisted that I shouldn't yet. While I was seated in my room alone, I could hear Lilia and Lupel talking about me. I also heard them talk about why Zia doesn't come to visit me; I heard that she was focusing on something. I didn't let this bother me and just focused on connecting with my "Blood weapon."
Two things are bothering me. First, what is my blood weapon? While the incident happened, it chose me. However, I don't know what it is, nor did it even tell me anything. Secondly, what will happen when I turn ten years old? The right time to receive my blood weapon at the town square...
Someone is knocking at my door.
"Come in." I tucked my blanket neatly as they opened the door.
"Sweetie, are you doing fine there?"
She asks me while she gets busy with cleaning the room.
"Yeah, I am doing good mother."
She smiled at me, took a seat, and got seated beside me.
"Tomorrow..." She reached out to my hand and held it, and smiled. "You can go out of your room."
There's something wrong. I don't like this.
"S-sure mother..." "Thank you."
She nodded, still having that smile on her face. She backed away, stood, and left the room as she closed the door, not wanting to look at me.
( That was weird; something is wrong. I'll find out about it tomorrow. )
Tomorrow comes.
I made my bed for the first time in 5 days, and I quickly packed my stuff for sword training and chores.
I got out of my room and went to the living room; there was no one. I headed for the dining room. No one was there as well.
( Where are they? ) As I scratched the back of my head while still looking around.
( I should get going with my training. )
I went out of the house and went to the side to train my sword. Suddenly, a figure that wasn't familiar to me was there standing near the dummies that I hit.
"E-Excuse me?" I said quietly, to not surprise this stranger.
Maybe it was because of the dummies, but I didn't notice that she was a woman. She slowly turned around to me.
"Hello, you must be Zeal ... nice meeting you, young man."
Having a better look at her, she was extremely tall, taller than Lilia and Lupel, dark-skinned, but with straight black hair.
I replied to her while bowing. "Nice to meet you."
I bent back up to look at her. "So, uh ... what brings you to our home?"
She smiled at me and said. "I'm a spell caster from the Ring of Bian. My name is Aneres Harlow."
( Ring of Bian? Does she really mean the Secluded Bian's???? )
She tilted her head as if wondering.
"W-What's the matter? Is there something wrong, Ms. Harlow?"
She didn't reply but went forward to be closer to me; I backed off one step each time she went closer until she stopped.
"No need to be alarmed young Zeal and please ... call me Ms. Aneres."
I was still suspicious of her. So, I asked her.
"What are you here for? You didn't answer me that the first time I asked."
Again she tilted her head and poked at her face.
"I didn't? I'm pretty sure I did ... Ah ... I only introduced myself. My apologies about that young Zeal."
She stepped back a few inches from where she was standing and said.
"I am Aneres Harlow, from the Ring of Bian ... I am here to the request of Mrs. Lilia and Mr. Lupel Noir to analyze their 7-year-old son for a possible blood weapon contract."
( Blood weapon contract? I've never heard of that before. )
"Blood weapon contract? What is that?"
I asked her while still being on guard, I looked at her, and she wasn't replying to me. At that moment, I only thought of the mysterious "Blood weapon," which I don't know what it is ... or where ever it is. At a distance, I saw Lilia and Lupel walking together back at the house.
"It's father and mother." I said whilst staring in their direction.
She turned around to check it out for herself.
( I guess I can't make her talk ... )
"Strange ..."
I looked at her as she said.
"I don't see them yet when you said you spotted them." "Are you perhaps playing with me?"
Still looking in the direction.
( What is she talking about? I can clearly see them from here; why can't she? Is she the one playing with me? )
"I don't know if I should invite some stranger into my house. However, if what you said was true I can't just keep a guest waiting so let's head at the back to be seated."
She nodded in agreement and followed me to the back. We were seated and waiting ... I didn't speak the whole time, but she got busy with her stuff. She wore a black glove and reached out sideways.
( What is she doing? )
The next thing I knew, she was pulling a briefcase out of thin air; I was awestruck, I didn't even notice that I stood. I got seated, regaining my posture.
( Was that magic?... no, she doesn't have mana. Perhaps a spell formula? She did say she is a spell caster. )
"Are you interested?"
She just asked me directly, and after a few considerations inside my head, I answered.
"Yes."
I looked at her straight in the eyes, eager to know what she had just done.
"What Mr. Lupel said was true, you really are a boy who sought knowledge."
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Of course not, young Zeal, there are all sorts of people who want to gain new knowledge for themselves. That's what makes them humans."
( Them? ) "So, can I know Ms. Aneres?"
"Yes, it is my secret but I guess it won't hurt to tell you, Although on one condition."
"W-what is it?"
She slowly put her face in front of me and whispered.
"Please cooperate later."
She sits back—"Okay?" while smiling.
"Y-yeah sure thing."
"So, this is the spell formula I used for what I call "Space." Basically, it's a space in the air that is invisible to the eye but also transparent to solid things."
( She said that like it's an easy thing to draw a formula to control the wind. But surely that there's another element involved to do that. )
"As for how I can so "easily" control the wind, you might have already thought that there's another element involved."
( I was prepared to hear whatever she says, because this will help me a lot, not only with spell formulas but also with my magic! )
"But, if you think so ... then you're only half right."
!!!
( Is she saying that there are two elements more involved?!?! )
"The elements involved are wind, earth, and fire."
!!!
"Earth, I use the dust in the air to manipulate air more easily. Fire to make a contact with wind to make a so-called illusion." "So, do you get it now?"
She asked me with a poker face on.
( That isn't possible, there is no way you can hide a space in the area by using three elements that almost have no reaction to each other ... unless ... she's lying to me. )
"Excuse me, I want to stand and wait for my parent's arrival."
I stood and walked away from her.
( She must be lying, saying an impressive spell like that to a kid doesn't make sense. Did she think I would just believe whatever she told me? No, that can't be. I have shown suspicion around her ever since she arrived. )
I checked to see if she was looking at me, and to no surprise, she was.
( Is she expecting something from me? From a kid? What's the deal with this woman. )
