Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Movement

"Listen you have to sign this guy trust me! This guy torched me in high school he is an absolute steal in the draft!" Aaron Lee says to the general manager of the Washington Wizards. The Wizards's gm responds, "We will think about it but we have an excess of forwards so we'll severely limit his play time, he can show off his talent in the summer league and we can gauge his minutes from there. We have to find a new head coach after Wes Unseld Jr.'s abrupt resignation." "Just saying I would prefer a former NBA player so my skills can be correctly utilized and developed." Aaron Lee adds before leaving the room. The phone then goes off in the general manager's room from one of the coaches interested in the job. "Hello?" The gm asks, before hearing the man over the phone say, "I could nurture your young talent on your roster and mold them into superstars." The gm then responds, "Who is this?" The man then responds, "Tim Duncan."

"Hello I am your new head coach Tim Duncan, most of you most likely know me from the Spurs, but I am here to make you into a dynasty." The tall head coach says. "Now for me to really see and analyze your skills we are going to scrimmage to simulate your skills in real game scenarios." The teams are split up into two of five, Aaron Lee, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Thomas Bryant, and Raul Neto. The other team is Chase Farris the signed undrafted rookie, Corey Kispert, Danial Gafford, Kristaps Porzingis, and Tomas Satoransky. "Kristaps you are our main guy, Corey, Me, and Chase will space the floor and Danial Gafford will crash the boards and find open men on the offensive board." Tomas says to the team. Everyone agrees with Chase quietly nodding, on the other side Aaron Lee is taking control. "Raul you bring up the ball, I'll use my post game and kick out to the open man if it's open but other than that I got this. IT'S GAME TIME BABY!"

Kristaps wins the jump ball against Thomas Bryant, it goes to Gafford to gives it to Tomas to bring it up. The matchups are Aaron Lee on Kristaps, Raul Neto on Tomas Satoransky, Thomas Bryant on Danial Gafford, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on Corey Kispert, Kyle Kuzma on Chase Farris. Kristaps immediately gets it in the post and Aaron Lee's quick hands knock the ball away however it goes out of bounds. Chase Farris passes the ball into Tomas who hits Corey in the corner who drives in and kicks it out to Kristaps who takes a three. The three however is blocked by Aaron Lee jumping higher than Jr Smith. Kuzma hustles for the ball and passes down court to KCP for the easy layup. Down the court the same thing keeps happening, Aaron lee locking up Kristaps and scoring on him at the other end. One of the offensive possessions however catches the defense off balance which pulls Kuzma from Chase Farris to contest Tomas who hits him for an easy three. "Kuzma is in for a rough practice tonight." Down the court slowly Chase Farris begins to earn the trust of his teammates with his 3 point shooting. He eventually has 5 in a row from open looks then he speaks up for the first time in the game. "Can I start bringing up the ball please?" He says and Tomas responds, "sure thing rook." Next possession Chase Farris brings it up on Kyle Kuzma and steps into what seems to be a shot and Kuzma jumps at it. Chase Farris then takes a step to the side and shoots the three after the pump fake swishing it. "Let me guard him." Chase Farris says pointing at Aaron Lee. They switch up the matchups with Chase on Aaron Lee. Aaron Lee then catches the ball in the corner drives in and does a hesitation move into a pump fake, Chase bites and jumps at it and then Aaron Lee leans in and hits the off balance shot. Chase then brings the ball up on Kuzma still and does the Derrick Rose ball fake and drives in and dunks it with a tomahawk slam. Aaron Lee comes down the court and posts up the undrafted player where he dream shakes him a little and then goes up for a fade away after faking a hook shot making it in over Chase. Chase then gets the inbound and runs down court taking a contested pull up over Kyle Kuzma and banking it in. Aaron Lee and Chase Farris go back and forth and scoring and the team members are amazed. "I'M IN THE ZONE NOW." Chase says, then Aaron Lee responds, "This is the true zone." And his eyes spark with cyan lightning. Aaron Lee starts moving and scoring at such a rate he has never been seen doing before. He drives past Chase Farris effortlessly and throws a down a rim rocker on Kristaps. "We might have a chance now to take down those monsters." Bradley Beal the superstar Shooting Guard says. The two rookies go back and forth again and the game is tied 96-96 and Coach Duncan says, "Alright one final possession." Aaron Lee brings up the ball but Chase Farris runs up and strips him and then pulls up from half court and it bounces off the front of the rim in and everyone goes crazy. "This crop of talent is the best I could've asked for." Tim Duncan says.
