At the monastery of the League Of Shadows, a bloody and bruised teenage girl stands in the middle of multiple League Of Shadows Assassins while a man with white hair, and a woman with short black hair watches. The teenage girl raises her fists to fight, despite being exhausted.
"Begin." The man with white hair says.
The assassins pull out their swords and charge at the young girl. She quickly dodges a sword strike, landing an elbow into his throat and throwing him to the ground. Another assassin swings his sword multiple times, missing each time. The young girl quickly catches him, flips him to the ground and punches him in the face. After that she avoids a kick and breaks the leg, then lands an uppercut, knocking another assassin out. She is then slashed across the arm but she doesn't scream out in pain or even slow down, just landing a roundhouse kick to the side of his face. One of the last two assassins charges in, but the young girl kicks his leg, dropping him to a knee, hits him in the throat, then knees him in the face. As the last assassin prepares to attack, Ra's Al Ghul and his daughter Talia enters the room.
"Shiva. David. How's her progress?" Ra's asks.
"Very promising." David says with a smile.
The young girl quickly disarms the Assassin, lands a forearm strike to his nose, then takes him down with an arm bar and starts elbowing him in the face over and over again.
"Your daughter is quite impressive." Talia says.
"Yes. We'll have to set up a sparring match between her and your son." Lady Shiva suggests.
"Enough!" David yells.
At that moment, the young girl snaps out of it, looks at the assassin who is not moving at all and quickly let's go of him. She then checks his pulse and realizes that she killed him. As she looks at him and the blood on her hands with remorse.
"He does not deserve your pity, Cassandra." Lady Shiva says.
As her parents approach her, Cassandra Moon stands to her feet and her father puts his hand on her shoulder.
"In this world, strength is the only thing that matters. He was weak, that is why he is dead." David says.
Cassandra closes her eyes turns away from parents.
"Cassandra. Cassandra, look at me." Lady Shiva demands.
But Cassandra doesn't listen.
"Cassandra Moon, I am your mother. You will obey me or suffer the consequences." Lady Shiva threatens.
Cassandra then runs away from her parents, feeling both shame, guilt, and sadness for killing yet another person.
"Cassandra! Get back here!" David demands.
But Cassandra doesn't listen and keeps on running.
Meanwhile, back in New York, Peter continues training with the new recruits. He spars with Stephanie, giving her advice on how to fight efficiently. He helps Jaime with flight training, giving him better control in the air. He also teaches Tim how to move in the air while web swinging. Soon, after a few months, their training is complete. One night, Peter stands infront of the recruits in the Batcave.
"Alright, the three of you have shown amazing progress. You've worked hard, and shown me that you are ready for the field."
The three celebrate, giving each other high fives, as Peter smiles.
"But a good friend once told me that if you're going to fight a war. You're going to need a uniform." Peter says.
He then reveals three superhero suits that excites the recruits. Stephanie gets a black and gray suit with a mask that covers the upper part of her face with bat pointy ears with bat symbol, Tim gets an all black suit with red webs and a red spider symbol, and Jaime gets light blue pilot suit.
"This is amazing." Tim says.
"I even get a suit?" Jaime asks.
"Well this one is flame resistant, so when you suit up you won't have to worry about being naked." Peter says, causing Jaime to blush.
Jaime's smile gets even bigger.
"Awesome." He says.
"So, when's our first patrol?" Stephanie asks.
Peter smirks.
"I was thinking tonight. That is, if you three are up for it." Peter says.
The three recruits nod with determination in their eyes.
"Suit up." Peter says.
Later on through the night, Spider-Bat stands on a rooftop with Shadow-Bat, The Scarlet Spider, and Blue Spider. All four of the vigilantes stare down at New York City, waiting for something to happen. Soon Stephanie, Jaime, and Tim let out mutual sighs.
"This is kinda boring." Stephanie says.
"Yeah, when are the bad guys supposed to show up?" Jaime asks.
Peter smirks.
"Waiting like this is a part of the job." Peter says.
At that moment, Cassandra Moon runs through an alley nearby.
"Eyes up. We got something." Tim says.
"Alright, observe the situation closely." Peter instructs.
The recruits look at Cassandra closely.
"She's young. Fifteen or Sixteen." Jaime says.
"She has blood on her right hand. No weapon in sight." Stephanie says.
"Judging by her face, she's horrified and scared." Tim says.
Peter then takes closer look at Cassandra, recognizing her. He then jumps down infront of Cassandra who is scared.
"Cassandra?" Peter asks.
She prepares to fight, but Peter tries to calm her down.
"No, it's ok. It's me."
Peter presses a button on his suit the hacks all the cameras in the area then he takes off his mask.
"It's Peter. Remember? Peter?" He says.
As Cassandra's eyes widen, the new recruits look at each other.
"I thought we weren't supposed to take off our masks while we're out on the field." Jaime says.
Both Stephanie and Tim shrug at the question. Cassandra runs over to Peter and hugs him, with tears in her eyes. Peter looks at the teenage girl and the blood on her hand with sadness, hugging her back and putting his hand on top of her head.
"It's ok, Cass. It's all going to be ok." Peter says.
At that moment, Peter notices that they are being watched.
"Come on. Let's go." Peter says.
