Peter works in the cave, refocusing on finding the court of owls. Ben then walks in, yet again worried about the young man.
"Forgive me if I sound like a broken record, sir. But- I'm worried about you. Having to face off against Harry, someone who you've known and trusted for most of your life. Loosing people in your life is never easy." Ben says.
Peter looks at Ben and smiles.
"I still have you, Ben. I couldn't get through any of this without you."
Ben smiles.
"It's my honor, Peter."
As the two share a smile, an alert comes on the computer.
"Is it the Court of Owls?" Ben asks.
"No. It's...one of Anna's prototypes- on the move." Peter replies.
"What? But Anna locked everything away."
"Well, she needed a better lock."
Peter then pulls up a photo of the thief, who is Felicia Kyle.
"She stole from you? After everything you two been through, she would just betray your trust like this? Why would she do this?" Ben asks.
Ben thinks for a moment.
"Maybe she's just messing with me- some kind of joke."Peter answers.
"A joke, sir?"
"She has an unusual sense of humor." Peter says with a smirk.
He then pulls up an image of what she stole.
"She stole an electronic skeleton key. With it, you could bypass any security system made by Parker tech." Peter explains.
"That device is way too dangerous in Ms. Kyle's hands."
"Get a car ready,Ben. And let Anna know what's going on. I'm going to get some answers from Felicia."
Meanwhile, Felicia is riding on her motorcycle on the highway, trying to leave New York. She then stops when she sees Peter block her path, sighing at the sight of him.
"Damn it." She says.
Peter doesn't say anything, folding his arms at her. Felicia smirks at his disapproving look.
"Hey Peter. I wasn't expecting you." Felicia says.
"I'm sure you weren't."
"I'd thought you'd be busy with, you know. Saving the world. I am flattered that you made time to see me off."
Felicia then pulls the key from her pocket.
"But- I know you're not here for me. I don't blame you for wanting it back. I'm surprised you had a toy like this. Of course Spider-Bat would use it for the good of New York, but the less noble options are so much more- exciting." Felicia says.
Peter stays silent again, as Felicia grins. She then throws the device to him.
"Oh come on, don't pretend you're not impressed. As long cons go, this one was a beauty. Getting into Parker Industries lab took a lot more than cracking a safe. I had to get close to people. Your friend Harry... poor guy."
Peter has a remorseful look on his face when he hears Harry's name.
"After that, it didn't take long to meet his BFF, the great and brilliant Peter Parker. Imagine my surprise when the rich, know it all, genius turned out to be Spider-Bat, New York's protector. I was always going to steal from Peter Parker. I just never expected he'd be so interested."
"So it was all an act? Everything we've done together. A lie?"
Felicia looks at Peter with compassion.
"That's- how it started. But now it's over. I'm leaving New York while I can. Owl people, pycho mayor's, it's all way more than I bargained for."
Peter stays silent for a moment as Felicia smirks.
"You're upset that I'm leaving. What'd you think? That one night of, admittedly good, sex meant we were going steady? Is that what you really thought?"
Peter steps forward towards Felicia.
"Well, maybe it meant nothing to you. But what happened between us meant something to me."
Felicia is surprised, but pulls away from Peter.
"Aw Spider. Didn't think you were the sensitive type." Felicia says.
"Just stop the show, Felicia. Stop pretending nothing matters." Peter demands.
Felicia sighs.
"Look Peter. I'll admit that what you and I had- it wasn't terrible. But you were just a job. That's it."
Peter stays silent.
"It's not complicated. I'm not a good person. I'm definitely no hero, and I don't want to be. I'm a thief. That's all I am. I pretended to be anything else." Felicia says.
"Stop. That's not true. I know there's more to you than that, You're just afraid to admit it." Peter says.
"You'd like it if that were true, wouldn't you?" Why would you even think that?"
Peter steps closer to Felicia, putting his hand on the side of her face.
"Because I know you. The real you. Just like you know the real me."
Felicia can't resist anymore and she kisses Peter.
"Stay. Please." Peter says.
Felicia stays silent for a moment.
"I- can't." Felicia finally says, pulling away from Peter.
"I'm sorry Peter. I just can't."
Felicia walks towards her bike, not being able to look back at Peter. As She drives away, a tear falls down her cheek.
While Peter is alone he sighs, leaning against his car and looking up at the sky. He then gets a call from Anna.
"Anna. I've got the key."
"Good. Hate to think what would happen if it got into the wrong hands."
At that moment, Peter gets a call from Ben.
"Hold on. Ben's on the line."
He then switches to Ben.
"Hey Ben, I-"
"Peter! The Court of Owls- they are here! I tried to keep them out but-"
Before Ben can finish his sentence, the line cuts off.
"Ben? Ben!"
Peter quickly jumps into his car and drives as fast as he can to the mansion.
He quickly arrives and runs inside, worried about Ben.
"Ben! Are you alright!?" Peter yells, hearing no response.
Peter soon hears something, causing him to be on guard. He slowly approaches a wall as the noise gets louder. At that moment, his spider senses goes off and a Talon bursts through the wall, coming straight towards him.
"Peter Parker. The Court of Owls has sentenced you to-"
Peter interrupts him with a kick to the chest.
"I heard you the first time." Peter replies.
The Talon kips up and goes for a kick that Peter dodges, landing a punch to his face. The assassin pulls out a knife and swings it at the hero. Peter dodges, barely avoiding the blade. The Talon goes for another slash that Peter flips over it, landing kick to his head, knocking him to a knee. He goes to stab the hero, but Peter catches his arm, knocks the knife out of his hand and punches him in the face.
The Talon chuckles as he stands back to his feet.
"Seems you have some moves, Mr. Parker. Well so do I."
The Talon lands a spinning heel kick to the back of Peter's head. As the hero is knocked off balanced, he is hit by a double kick combo to the chest and face, knocking him to the ground. Peter slowly stands up, spitting out blood on the ground.
"That's true. But yours..."
The Talon charges in with punch, but Peter ducks it, grabs him and slams him to the ground and kips up to his feet.
"...went out of style a long time ago."
The Talon quickly recovers and throws knives straight at Peter, but he leans back to dodge them. As the assassin continues to throw knives, Peter does an aerial flip over the living room table, and picks it up to cover himself from the knives. As Peter drops the table, the Talon rushes at him and throws a three sixty kick. The hero ducks the kick and lands a left jab and a right cross. He then lands a bicycle kick, knocking him through a window, knocking him out.
Peter then puts an ear piece in, trying to get a hold of Ben in the cave.
"Ben. Are you there?"
"Master Parker. Thank goodness you're alright. I heard sounds of a fight upstairs."
"I'm alright Ben, just hang on I'll be-"
Peter stops in mid sentence, when he sees multiple glowing yellow eyes staring at him through the dark.
"Master Peter? Is everything alright?"
"Ben, imma have to call you back."
At that moment, Ben sees a Talon walking inside the cave.
"I think I have to go as well, sir." Ben says, running away.
Peter quickly runs upstairs as multiple Talons chases him. He then jumps out of a window and sticks to the wall outside as a Talon goes after him, falling to the ground. Peter climbs up the wall, trying to make it to the roof. When he makes it to the roof, his spider sense goes off, and he is kicked in the face by a Talon.
"Go ahead, Peter. Try to run away. We'll follow you wherever you go."
Peter blocks a punch, lands a headbutt and throws him off a roof.
"You won't." Peter replies.
Multiple Talons surround Peter again.
"Nowhere left to go, Peter. Nowhere to run...You're going down now."
Peter discreetly presses a hidden button on his chimney, opening a passageway to the cave.
"Can't argue with that." Peter replies, jumping down the chimney.
"He's escaping!" A Talon yells.
They try to follow him, but the opening immediately closes.
"We'll get you Peter Parker! We're coming for you!"
"Stupid, Parker. Stupid. You should have seen this coming. You should have been watching for it. But you were distracted." Peter thinks to himself as he slides down to the cave.
He makes it inside the cave, but doesn't see Ben.
"Ben, are you alr-"
Peter pauses, shocked to see a Talon inside.
"Well, well. Seems you have a secret, Peter. Don't you?" The Talon says.
As Peter prepares to fight, Peter's giant Penny is pushed on top of the Talon.
"Seems that penny was lucky afterall, sir."
Peter chuckles.
"Are you ok?"
"Quite, sir."
"Good. Now let's get some answers."
Peter then steps on the penny, crushing the Talon and taking off his mask to reveal a pale white face with yellow eyes.
"How many are coming for us?" Peter demands to know.
The Talon laughs
"Enough. And not just for you... But don't worry, you'll find out soon."
"How about sooner."
Peter then grabs him by the wrist and hand, twisting it.
"Ah! You're- breaking my arm!"
As his arm cracks, Peter takes off his gauntlet. At that moment, more Talons enter the cave, causing Peter and Ben to run inside a safe room in the cave.
"Those doors won't hold them forever, sir."
"I know." Peter replies.
Peter then takes out a microdrive that was in the Talons gauntlet.
"Take this, see if you can figure out what they're planning."
"Alright, but what will you be doing, master Parker?"
"I'm going to drop the temperature to sub zero. The regenerative compound in the Talons blood is heat sensitive. Bring their core body temperatures down low enough, and they'll freeze or at least slow down."
"But sir, the temperature in the cave will become inhospitable to you yourself."
Peter smirks.
"Don't worry Ben. I'll be dressed for cold weather."
Peter opens a secret compartment, to reveal a new Spider-Bat suit that Anna sent over.
"I think it's time to kick out our uninvited guests."
