I opened my eyes and it came flooding back. The car! It hit me! But I cant feel it… am I dead? No the voice… The car never hit me? If he saved me then where am I? My eyes feel heavy as I blink them for a time before sitting up. I am on a hill, surrounded by waving grass and a blue sky. That's when I see the shadow I'm sitting in. Turning around I can see it. A ten foot tall obelisk stretched unto the sky, made of black stone and With a skull inscribed in it. And before it, on the ground, a small leather book, bound in the cord.
I'm inclined to believe what the man in the dream said is true. Doubtless, I am here afterall, and I don't remember ever being in a place like this before. Forget all that, I thought I got hit by a car so I'm willing to believe that this is either a coma dream or real life. Either way, I have to live with it. I was 17 in the old world and I still feel just like I did then also.
Picking up the book and opening it took a second, the cords were wrapped tightly and tied in a knot at the end. On the first page, I saw:

Damn. Undead huh. I can use that! The power sounds awesome and if I can level these up I can get even more powerful! I doubt that a single low tier undead is very strong but eventually I might be able to control an army of them!
"Summon low tier undead!"
Nothing happened for a second then a shifting noise reached my ears growing louder with time before the ground in front of me split to reveal a shining bony hand.
Over the next ten or so seconds a monster drug itself out of the ground to stand before me. My monster that is!
I stood next to it now, a skeleton who looked remarkably clean given its previous circumstances now stood tall before me! I say tall, It's around 5ft,7. Enough to be threatening for sure, especially when you count the seven inch long rusting dagger in its hand. It looked a bit scary, to be honest. But at the same time not, like one of those skeleton models you would see in biology class or propped against someone's window on Halloween.
Might as well see how many I can make!
"Summon low tier undead!"
My mind goes fuzzy and I lose strength in my legs, falling to the ground and sinking deeper into the black.
"I'M UP!"
So that must be the limit huh?
A second skeleton now stands before me with the other one. Looking down on me, who just woke up sprawled on the ground. Now, THAT is scary! All I can be is thankful that they are on my side.
How do I control them?
Voice commands are the obvious answer.
"Protect this area!"
The skeletons immediately turn and stand on either side of me facing outwards and take a few steps forward where their heads begin to swivel back and forth in place.
I can feel my energy return to me even now. Not very fast might I add. I might be able to summon another one though after a while! Can I just keep stacking monsters like that for my army? That would be great! That way before I do anything I could build up a giant force and with a little luck ill just overwhelm it!
But there seems to be a lot to do before I can even get close to that. Plus I don't know how this works. Why risk things so soon? For all I know, I might die if I summon too many. These things don't look very strong but I feel like the two of them could overwhelm a normal person with a knife. Not to mention, nowhere in here does it say that I have to be standing behind them waiting for them to win for me! I can be up in the front if I want!
But first, I have to make sure I live to see that day. Food, water and shelter. I have to get those things to live no matter what world I'm in right?
Looking around… grass. Grass for almost as far as the eye can see. But only almost. In the distance, I can see the trees of a forest.
I can't see anywhere else to go so why not start there?
"Protect me." My two skeleton bodyguards fall in on either side of me, and we begin our march.
