Heikar initiated the first attack as his punch clad in aura moved towards Alisia with amazing speed. However, Alisia backed away from the punch's trajectory.
"So you decided to attack me when you knew you couldn't defeat my knights, clever but too naive."
Alisia waved her hand and the blood from the orc corpes came out from the body and gathered around Alisia.
Korzak and Heikar had a disgusting look towards Alisia and her blood magic. Using the warriors against their own allies is disgraceful and disgusting in the orc's perspective.
"You disgraceful demon!"
Korzak charged and slashed with his axe before Alisia had the chance to do anything. However, it was already too late the moment she got her hands on blood.
The blood hardened and became a barrier blocking away Korzak's strike. Heikar followed up another strike with his fist and punched at the barrier.
The barrier shattered and dissipated but Alisia was not inside. She appeared behind Korzak and swung her hand to the left as if slashing with a sword.
Blood spurted out to the air. Korzak had a slash wound on his back and his armor was broken.
"GAAAHHH"
The slash wound was deep and his excess blood was taken away by Alisia. Heikar rushed towards her and launched a barrage of attacks. Alisia blocked with her blood barrier again but this time her attack was visible.
"You're too hasty"
The blood she gathered turned into a crescent slash towards Heikar and he managed to dodge it by ducking. He did a low kick but missed as Alisia dashed away.
"My my, even I'm getting excited by this fight"
A faint sadistic smile could be seen on her face. It was obvious that she enjoys toying with her opponents.
"Korzak, can you still fight?"
Heikar said to Korzak behind him. Korzak stood up slowly and nodded. However, his body was trembling and shaking which indicated how much damage he took from the attack.
Orcs bodies are strong enough to be able to resist normal sword strikes and equipping armor should make them strong enough to be able to endure spells from mages.
To be able to slash the armour like butter and even pierce through an orc's thick defensive skin is proof of how powerful Alisia is.
"I'm just attacking using pure force and you're already struggling that much. What a cute sight, like a rabbit struggling to live"
The knight demons walked appeared from behind Alisia and bowed down to her. Alisia glanced to her side and saw a knight demon bowing to her.
"Oh? Looks like you're done, Orin."
"Yes, princess"
The orcs in charge of holding them off were already dead lying on the ground. Fergo was sliced in half yet one of his hands still held on to a sword.
"Well then, that means it's about time for me to finish up now. It was fun while it lasted, farewell orcs"
In the next moment, Korzak and Heikar saw the world turn upside down and soon dropped down on the ground. They saw their lifeless bodies fall on to the ground and their vision becoming dimmer and darker. Soon, they realised they were decapitated and dead. Their vision were gone and they died with their eyes wide open.
. . . . . . . . . .
"How long before we reach the Krevish Forest?"
Ragnar asked one of the elder orcs. It has been 2 days since the death of Korzak and the defeat of the orcs. However, Ragnar is still not aware of the situation as migrating the tribe takes priority over his own self interest. This is the responsibility left behind by Korzak towards him as a chief.
"It'll take at least 3 days with our current pace. That's excluding the need for breaks to hunt for food and rest"
A sour expression appeared on Ragnar's face as he realised of how grim their situation is.
"The demons will catch up to us at this rate. Can we increase our pace?"
"That's hard to say. The tribe members will get tired quickly and our food reserve will run out. Hunting takes a lot of time. The disadvantages are more than the advantages"
After Korzak and the rest of the attack force departed, the rest of them began making preparations to depart immediately. Whether they lose or win the war doesn't matter. It's better to be safe rather than risking danger for no solid reason.
Suddenly, their discussion was cut short when an orc came running towards Ragnar. She stopped in front of Ragnar and had a serious look on her face.
"Chief, there's a bit of a problem"
"What is it?"
"Moraine detected a gargoyle with her magic. She's currently at the rear where she detected the gargoyle"
Ragnar's face hardened as he heard the report. He clenched his fist knowing the meaning behind the gargoyle's appearance.
'So father lost the war...'
He looked at the femlae orc and gave her orders.
"Tell all the orcs to get ready to depart. Moraine's magic is too competent to ignore. That means that the demons won the war and they're catching up to us. We can't defeat them with our current situation and lack of fighters so fleeing is our best option if we want to survive"
"I'll be sure to pass on your orders"
The female orc quickly left after receiving her orders to inform the others. Ragnar turned towards the elder orcs behind him.
"If the demon actually arrive here, I'm aftaid that I'll have to..."
Ragnar couldn't finish his sentence as guilt fell over him. However, the elders understood his intentions and goodwill.
"We understand, if it comes down to that then we'll surely sacrifice ourselves to buy you some time. The youngsters should live on to lead the next generation"
Ragnar nodded and left them. He walked heading towards the location where Moraine detected the gargoyle.
Arriving at the area, the scent of burning could be found in the air. Since orcs have a keen sense of smell, Ragnar could tell that this burning smell is not from a simple bonfire. He rushed towards the source of the smell and could see smoke in the air soon after.
He arrived at the location where the smoke was coming from and saw a crater with traces of battle everywhere. In the middle of the crater, he saw a woman in black dress with a crown of royalty. The woman had bat-like wings on her back and crimson red eyes.
The woman noticed Ragnar and greeted him.
"Oh? I assume you came here for this woman?"
Ragnar could see Moraine lying helplessly on the ground with her body riddled in slash wounds. Her right hand was also pierced. Ragnar ran towards Moraine and held her up.
"Oh, do not worry as she's not dead yet. However, she's currently suffering fatal wounds and may as well die from blood loss."
The woman said behind Ragnar.
"You... Who are you?"
"Oh how polite of you to ask my name. I'm Princess Alisia Hetruvia, daughter of the Demon King Zaddith Hetruvia"
