Heero entered the elevator, accompanied by his two wives, who also acted as assistants in his work, Bai Xin Yue and Kang Seo-Yeon.
Both wore formal work dresses that showed off their amazing curves. One in crystal blue, the other in fiery red.
Heero himself was forced to wear a formal suit by the two.
The two hot girls hooked their hands into his, one on the left and one on the right. They became the center of attention. Men stared at Heero with envy and jealousy, making him feel smug inside.
When he entered the elevator the smugness disappeared and was replaced by lamentation.
'If it was me in the past, I would be happy about this, not smug... I've changed too...' Heero thought as the elevator rode up to the 20th floor.
"So what is the trial for? Why do I have to go to the trial?"
He was supposed to have a break, to enjoy his break after the wedding. But here he was forced to work by Old Ming.
"Literally what the letter says! The verdict for Wu Shen Lei and Park Jin-Soo" Bai Xin Yue replied in an unusually serious tone.
"Who will handle the trial? I told Sun Zhou Yi not to make a big deal out of it and to let it go after a friendly lesson" Heero was rather confused by this.
Yesterday's incident was wrapped up smoothly. No one witnessed the scene and the traitors were caught. The matter should have ended there, so what about the trial?
Unless the Wu or the Park family had screwed their most promising offspring, which was highly unlikely.
"The Park family! I did not know what was in their heads, but they turned to Park Jin-Soo and also reported Wu Shen Lei" Kang Seo-Yeon chimed in.
Ding!
The elevator opened when they reached the 20th floor.
"Nah, I don't care, let's finish this quickly. We don't have much time for such a trivial matter!" Heero entered the 20th floor and went directly to the courtroom.
The trial was held in private, only the executives, the Hero Instructor, the Elder, and the Supreme Guardian had the right to attend the trial.
The judges were the Chief Executive, an Elder, and the Chief Guardian. After all, this was a trial for an emperor-class hero, and only people with such a position could be judges.
Kreak!
Heero pushed the large door and everyone in the courtroom turned their attention to the entrance.
"You're late!!!" Wu Shitian pointed his finger at Heero from his place of honor. Pretty rude, but no one stopped.
"Yesterday was my wedding and today was supposed to be my break, but you forced me to attend a trivial trial" Heero muttered unhappily as he found a random seat.
This only made the old man angrier, "What are you doing? Your seat is here!"
Old Wu shouted as he pointed to the seat next to Bai Xian Ming. It was an honored seat for the Chief Instructor.
They told him that the judges were the Chief Executive, the Elder, and the Supreme Guardian.
Kang Seo-Yeon shrugged her shoulders slightly, "The letter only invited you, they never mentioned the judge thing."
The three then made their way to Heero's seat. Yes, three of them, which made Old Man Wu even angrier.
"Only Emperor Class Hero can attend the trial!!!" He pointed at Kang Seo-Yeon.
"She's my assistant!" Heero replied carelessly and took the large seat. It was more comfortable than he expected.
"We should get a chair like this for my computer chair..." Heero whispered to Bai Xin Yue, causing the two girls to giggle.
"Enough, let's start the process!" Kim Jung-Mun decided to speak.
With his words, the trial began in a rather intense atmosphere. Everyone in the courtroom already knew what was going on, and it was about the Wu family.
The defendant was brought to the middle of the courtroom. Park Jin-Soo had his head down in shame while Wu Shen Lei looked more composed.
Only Heero was at ease. All the Emperor Class heroes in the city were present at the trial. So he looked at the seat of the Emperor Class Heroes and searched for number 1.
"He's not coming?" He asked the Emperor Class Hero - Rank 1.
"Actually, he has not returned to the city for three years. His whereabouts are unknown" Bai Xin Yue replied in a whisper.
"Please refrain from chatting during the trial!" A representative of The Elder reprimanded Heero.
Heero smiled at The Elder and nodded apologetically. He did not recognize The Elder.
Kang Seo-Yeon wanted to tell Heero but did not because The Elder glared at her sharply.
When the two defendants arrived at the center, a middle-aged man read the defendants' charges.
Basically, the two were accused of betraying the Hero League by meeting with the traitors without informing the League. After reading the charges, everyone's attention turned to Wu Shitian.
Wu Shen Lei was Wu's scion. Getting involved in such a scandal would damage the Wu family's credibility.
"Let me give you my verdict, just send them home! We have no proof if they are working together or not, they are innocent!" Heero was the first to speak.
But his words made his two wives laugh. This was not how the trial was supposed to work. The judges were supposed to interrogate the defendant first and read the evidence before the judges had a meeting to discuss the case before deciding on the verdict.
As for why Bai Xin Yue and Kang Seo-Yeon were laughing, it was because they knew that Heero did not know how the trial worked. It was as if Heero was a child playing around in the trial.
Sure enough, everyone gave him a strange look.
"Objection!" A middle-aged man raised his hand.
Heero looked at the middle-aged man. From the look of his face, the middle-aged man was either Korean or Chinese.
"Who is he?"
"Park Hyun-shik, the head of the Park family!" Bai Xin Yue whispered to Heero.
"Although we have no proof that they were working with the two traitors, the fact that they secretly met with the traitors already violated the ethics of the Emperor Class Hero!" Park Hyun-shik objected.
Heero looked at the middle-aged man. Dressed in a formal suit with neat black hair, the middle-aged man had the air of a gentleman.
His expression was serious and righteous, telling people that he was doing something right. But it was strange because he was part of the Park family. It was as if they had given up on Park Jin-Soo.
The most important thing was, why did they give up on Park Jin-Soo? He was someone who represented the Park family, the face of the Park family as the only Emperor Class Hero.
"Then a small punishment will be enough! Like taking back their privilege as Emperor Class Hero" Heero replied casually.
"Objection!" Park Hyun-Shik objected again.
"The punishment is too light! Demotion is the right punishment for them! Please consider it, Judge!"
Everyone was startled when Park Hyun-shik said this. A demotion to Emperor Class Hero was tantamount to humiliation for those involved.
"Mnn... I have considered it and your proposal is rejected. I don't agree with the penalty of demotion!" Heero nodded and gave his answer immediately.
Obviously, he had never considered the words of the middle-aged man.
Heero rejected the idea, but what about the other judges? Everyone's attention was on the other judges.
"Then it's decided, the verdict for the accused is guilty. The punishment is to take back their privileges and wages for five years!" Kim Jung-Mun read out the verdict.
"The trial is over!"
Everyone was surprised by the verdict. Normally, it would take a long time to reach a verdict. There would be a second and third trial before the verdict.
But now the trial was over in a few minutes. It was as if the judges unanimously agreed on the verdict even before the trial began.
"I can't accept this! I beg the judges to reconsider the verdict! They have violated the ethics of heroes, the world should know their deeds!" Park Hyun-shik appealed despite the final verdict.
"I am sorry, Mr. Park Hyun-shik! But the final verdict could not be changed!" Bai Xian Ming replied.
When the middle-aged man heard that, he knew that no matter what he did, it would not change the final verdict. He was so upset by the outcome that he immediately left the courtroom.
Looking at Park Hyun-shik's back, Bai Xian Ming sighed with regret.
"What's wrong?" Heero was still clueless about all of this.
But instead of answering, Bai Xian Ming praised him.
"Good job!" He patted his in-law on the shoulder with a broad smile.
"So it was not you!" Wu Shitian appeared next to Bai Xian Ming's seat as he looked at Heero.
"What?" Heero was confused. He did not understand the old man Wu was talking about.
But he did not answer him. Instead, he left together with another judge of The Elder.
"I thought this whole thing was your idea!" Kim Jung-Mun said to Heero.
"Why should I? I want to reform, not ruin the Hero League's public image! Even if I wanted to, I don't have to use the Park family!" Heero rolled his eyes at the accusation.
The Emperor Class Hero was the image of the Hero League. If such a scandal became public, they would lose the support of the people.
"What's wrong with all this?"
"You did well for your first time as a judge!" Kim Jung-Mun praised him.
