I twisted and turned on the bed because the bedding felt rather soft, unlike my usual bedding. It made me uncomfortable. I tried to turn on my sides but suddenly felt a sharp pain in my left shoulder.
"Don't turn. Don't turn. You're wounded," I heard Athena hastily talk. Her voice rang right beside me. It compelled me to open my eyes. I slowly blinked a few times and brought my focus to her. She was sitting beside me holding a wooden mortar and pestle.
"You're awake," she beamed as he eyes widened in happiness. Her beguiling dimples appeared on either side of her face. It made me realize that she hadn't smiled like that since the day she met me in Dagresh.
I tried to sit up, still focusing on her cheeks. My abrupt movement caused pain and I flinched. The next instant her dimples disappeared.
