I woke up having a lot of energy despite my right shoulder being numb. She was still sleeping without an ounce of culpability. Her usual expressive look makes me feel a lot of emotions which are often tumultuous. My emotions often varied from adoration to nervousness. But her childlike sleeping face was a lot more different. It didn't make me anxious. It rather pacified me. All I wanted to do was to protect her and continue to stare at her just like that. It was as if I could watch her sleep all day and night.
Her lashes slightly moved as she opened her eyes. That instant, I had to turn away and look at the front. I had to wear a nonchalant face and a frown.
This time, she didn't immediately straighten herself. She took her time to stare at me then slowly pull away. I grabbed my shoulder and pressed to get rid of the numbness and partially to make her feel bad for using me.
"I'm sorry," she hesitantly muttered an apology as expected.
