When we reached the cave at the base of the mountain, it was pitch dark as she predicted. My eyesight got adapted to the darkness, but Athena was stumbling her way up to the cave. Still, she rejected me when I gave her a helping hand.
When I whispered in her ear on the horse, I originally tried to calm her down. But it looked like the effect was the exact opposite. She hadn't spoken anything to me since then.
Once we reached inside the cave, she sat down on a stone keeping a ten feet distance between the two of us. 'What's the point? She has to mount the same horse with me tomorrow,' I clenched my jaw. After that, to let her relax, I went to out find some firewood.
"Don't wander around. I'll be back soon," I told her.
"Where are you going?" she asked, her eyes expressing fear.
"To get firewood, It will get cold." She nodded in acknowledgement.
