When Jack came here, he was aimless. The abuse of his parents mattered not to him originally. All he had in mind was one thing.
"What made me special? Why was I chosen?"
Such questions were part of his daily life.
He hated being chosen, he hated the people that killed him. But more than all of that, he hated that he could never meet his wife as well as his children ever again.
And in anger caused by this hate, he killed his new parents. A bunch of drug addicts that never understood the value of family. Which turned him into an orphan once again.
But even then, nothing much changed. Even killing his parents never doused the fire that had ignited in his heart.
So he started to plan more things.
More justified murders that would fix this broken world.
Something he could never do in his old life. A purpose to fix the wrongs of this world with the gift brought to him by the system.
