Chapter 24 - 1.14.1 Scaring the older sister - Part1

While Tarkov was reconnecting with his ancestors as he flung himself from tree to tree, Girisia was experiencing something entirely different. A kind of euphoria that he had never experienced since he arrived in the past.

"You completed your mission with an exemplary rating, for this I ought to reward you more," Girisia informed the player who just came back from his first proper hunt and obtained not only good experience but a proper salary and some armor too.

Since the conference, the Riber city militia has given the players more freedom and even employed them in their ranks. Which was done to nurture a sense of belonging and familiarity among the players.

Wilkis even came with huge fanfare by walking in the sky on the head of his drones and giving a speech to the players about the history of the city and what the goal all of humanity pursued.

With this speech, Wilkis had already established himself among the players with countless female players among them fangirling over his charms. Though a certain group among these fangirls was also interested in the man floating beside Wilkis, Vanras.

'Well, well, well! I can't believe I would earn so much experience so fast.' Looking at the experience amount that was enough for him to reach level eleven, Girisia wanted to dance in joy.

Since having his request fulfilled by Wilkis, Girisia had regularly taken over the administration job of players for two hours each day and given out missions that have higher experience yield potential compared to the small ones from before.

And the result can already be seen. He can enter grade two instantly if he had the class knowledge in his hand.

"Next please." He announced unguarded, not noticing the figure that now stood in front of her.

"Ah yes, please give me your ID…" Girisia paused, his eyes staring at the figure in front of him with surprise and nostalgia.

"Yes, please have this." The woman said, handing Girisia her ID card with the name GreyaOfTheMoon written on it.

It was his sister.

'Well, you can't always ignore them.' He thought as he took her ID and noted it down on his computer.

"Well, If it isn't Miss Greya." Tilting his head, he looks behind her and notices a certain absence. "Hmm, isn't your brother here? Don't both of you usually stick together?"

"No, he has joined the scouts legion and I couldn't keep up with him." She said in a downtrodden manner.

Gyatri's trait put him at a huge advantage over his fellow players and since the suppression was lifted from the players. The Military has started enrolling the talented Anomans into their ranks at a higher rate.

This has also negatively affected Girisia. For he has lost some good workers who may be able to complete high experience yield missions without a struggle. But he has to make do with what he has and is already satisfied with the current status quo.

"So you feel left out huh?" Girisia said. He had never seen this side of his sister, someone who will feel sad for being left behind.

"No! It's not like that, I just don't know what to do for now." She corrected the man in front, accidentally showing her denial.

'Hmm, she is a lot like me in this case.' Girisia felt her emotions.

Unlike both brothers who had great acting talent with different alignments. Greya was truly the median of both. As it usually happens to the middle child, Greya neither got the attention the youngest is showered with nor any of the expectations and responsibilities were forced upon her like Gyatri. This caused her to develop a very bland personality and after her parents' accidental deaths, she started following Gyatri in his endeavors just to fill up the void in her heart.

But from her current expression and melancholic look, Girisia understood that his sister may not be as bland as he thought while under her care, she had her worries too.

"Well you are lucky, I do have lots of jobs available in my hand. And if you want it, I will gladly give it to you." Girisia didn't mind helping his own family, he had already given preferential treatment to players like StarKillerTara who likes to stay in the barracks even if she has gotten lots of offers from the different battalions in the military.

"It would be appreciated if it's a small job that is easier to do." Greya requested in a small voice.

"Seems like the lady has some confidence issues." Girisia laughed, knowing full well the reason.

"I can understand how you feel somewhat, I too had an older brother who was stronger, sharper, and nobler than me." Girisia thought to open up to his sister a bit, his way to cheer her up. " I may not look like it but0 I used to be a pretty handsome guy though on the other hand, my brother was even more handsome and exceptional with a certain charisma. Which harmed my self-esteem.

Greya hearing this tilted her head, her eyes met with Girisia and her interest in the story rose. She was not someone who was used to playing games, she genuinely treated Girisia as if it was a real person in front of her.

"But the thing was, I always competed in things he was good at, hence I always lost. Not everyone can be exceptional at all things and I came to know it later on."

"Young lady, even though your brother may be as exceptional as my brother used to be, you shouldn't feel little because of it. Just find your path, something you are good at."

Girisia meant what he said. He knew the feeling of living under the mammoth that was Gyatri and those professional gamers who treat him as just another streamer will taste salt later on eventually.

But this feeling of inferiority wasn't the reason why he came to hate his brother in his past life. It was his brother's just and kind personality that he came to detest him so much. It felt too artificial.

Though if he thought about it, in the previous timeline after he left his brother's guilt, he probably became something worse and probably a monster in the eyes of the natives.

"Path is nothing immaterial…." Girisia to not be labeled as one of the useless quote spammers on the internet thought to help his sister a bit, in his way. "The path I am talking about is the one that will change your life, a unique path only catered to your needs. A path called the Domain."

"Domain?" Greya was not ignorant about this class. This was something briefly mentioned in Tara's post spoken by Girisia himself. But he never went into its details.

"I see you are somewhat knowledgeable about this topic. Let me tell you, it's probably the most important path among all the power systems as it's the progenitor that came before any of them." Girisia paused, giving Greya enough time to process everything he was talking about.

"Usually one needs to go through a physique refinement if they ever dream to walk on this path. But you… you are special. All you need to do is enter grade two on your talent alone and you will unlock it instantly."

[Gained crucial information on the Domain power system.]

"The path your brother plans to follow is nothing compared to the raw potential within you. So don't feel too sad, you have it much better than a failure like mt." Girisia mentioned as he lifted his robotic hand.

Greya, hearing the self-deprecating words of Girisia felt somewhat bad for Girisia, she can never understand how one can smile and joke after losing his own hands recently.

"Why do you say that though." With passion and pity, she voiced out her thoughts."Mister Korus is the only person who helped us, strangers, when the rest were treating us like prisoners and you also regularly told us helpful information that gave us directions…" In her speech, Greya noticed a small flashing icon in her notifications.

'Huh?' Baffled by the unexpectedly high affinity, she fell into her thoughts. She has seen some people flex on the forums about their NPC affinity and the highest she has seen yet had been 23%.

"But I am a failure, young miss and I am not a good person as you say." Girisia with a bright smile showing his broken teeth continued. "Remember that older brother of mine?"

Greya nodded, still confused about what Girisia was talking about.

"Well, please don't laugh. It's just that I tried so hard to kill him and I always failed. He was just too good." With a crazy smirk, Girisia mentioned the past causing his older sister some worry.

'Is this guy crazy?...'

This was the only thought left in Greya's head and she got even more worried knowing a crazy person like this has such a high affinity for her.
