Chapter 6 - 1.04 The hateful past

In another time when Girisia's life was not as complicated as it was now. He along with his siblings was on a barren planet with a dead core. It would require an immense amount of resources and a high grade world engine to bring life back to this planet.

Though, this planet didn't always used to be the same, this planet once housed a prosperous civilization that became victim to a civil war where both sides in a bid to destroy the other drained the planet of all of its natural resources. And when there was nothing left on the surface, they found a tomb in the heart of the planet. A tomb that ate people away.

Only few, high up in the planet's hierarchy were able to leave this planet before its civilization imploded in of itself. And it was the future descendants of these refugees who were the ones that gave the Sekhon siblings their current mission.

A mission that Gyatri accepted gladly, and brought his younger brother and sister along the way. For him, this quest not only had the potential for great content for his streaming channel, but its rewards were something that rivaled the top pathfinder missions in the mercenary guild that can affect the main storyline of the world.

But, much to the surprise of the siblings, they got much more than what they bargained for.

– "Greya, we are approaching the void tunnel, start stabilizing the space around the entrance, I will be sending Gir ahead to set up the locks and detonators. Get ready to receive him." In his drive to obtain more content and solidify his identity as the number one explorer in the game, Gyatri messed up big time. He had struck the hornet's nest.

The tomb that was spoken about in the legends from the native descendants of this planet didn't have much detailed information on the tomb itself. All they knew was that it was dangerous. But what they didn't expect was how dangerous it was.

The tomb in the legends was not a tomb at all, instead the entrance to the tomb was actually a fractured space that connected two different points through a void tunnel. And the place it connected to was an alien place even to the standards of a space faring mercenary like Gyatri.

This place imprisoned undying beings inside giant monoliths. It would be better to say, these were not monoliths to begin with, instead just grouped up undying monsters that have created a tower with their carcass.

"Gir, they all are over grade 6, your weapon won't affect them much, you go ahead and set up the charges as planned, I will try to divert their attention. They may be ultra strong, but their intelligence doesn't seem too high and I may be able to take advantage of this weakness of theirs for a while." In an open field with no end in sight and filled with uncountable dark pillars that reached the sky with holy aura pulsating from them, Gyatri and Girisia ran for their life as small cameras followed them streaming everything they were doing to a wide audience.

The small tomb has now turned into a whole new world or dimension with countless rich resources, the kind that they have never ever seen once in their life and immense danger too as each of these pillar's housed countless undying monsters and at present the ones pursuing the two brothers were just born out of one broken pillar.

Now the brother's even wondered if the story they were told of this planet was true or not, the civil war may not be the reason why this planet became the way it is now.

With thousands of undead monsters in their pursuit that were born out of a single broken pillar, the brother's wondered just how many monsters were actually housed in this world.

"But brother, why should we close the entrance? We went through hell to open it and as for the quest we have already completed, it only asked for the truth about the tomb that we have found out. It's not our job to be close to the entrance and with these things escaping from this place will also play into our advantage. As no one knows about these things more than us." A robotic voice came out of a ten meter mecha that flew right beside Gyatri. The mecha ws humanoid in structure and in a very bad state with most of its weapons melted till they became unusable and armor pads broken, even the drones that supported the Mecha during its fight were all broken with no hope of recycling.

"Gyatri! Not this again." In an annoying tone with a slight hint of anger, Gyatri closed the stream for a while, before he continued, "Stop always thinking about yourself, leaving the gate as it is may be advantageous to us players, but for the NPC's of this world, it will be a calamity and countless will die." He lectured. "Just go and set the charges with Greya as you are told to and don't wait for me, Collapse the space around the monolith as soon as you are ready. I will meet you guys back on the spawn point."

"But the amount of que…"

No buts Gir, Just got and do as I asked you to." Gyatri stopped Girisia from speaking more at this point. It was not like he didn't know what his brother was thinking. He just doesn't want to hear more of these inhumans words from the mouth of his own blood and his brother's usually polite speech habit didn't help much as it just made him sound more creepy. He still wonders where his younger brother picked this way of speaking.

"As you wish big brother." Girisia accepted on the surface while hiding the dark thoughts that went on in his head.

On the other hand, Gyatri, after seeing his younger brother relenting to his orders, melded into the space and disappeared. But from the place he disappeared, countless droids and androids connected with powerful hot weapons poured out in droves and attacked the mindless undying monsters that were following them like a swarm of locusts.

'Hmph! Showoff…!' Girisia scoffed, he then lowered his own defenses while strengthening the propulsion system of his mecha giving boost to his speed as his own brother is already taking care of the monsters behind him.

And Girisia also didn't worry much about him, Gyatri planned to fight a protracted war. Wasting as much as time as he could in the process using diversion tactics and all the armaments he carried with him.

The factories in his own pocket space were creating new drones and androids non-stop, his raw materials reserves were dropping down each second, while he used his recycle skill on his broken machines again and again till they turned to dirt. And all of it recorded by camera drones for his subscribers, who were enjoying the action and complementing Gyatri for his peak battlestrength.

The kind of strength that was thrashed till nothing of his robot army was left by the pursuing swarm.

As for Girisia, he reached the entrance in just two minutes after leaving his brother's side, while he also saw the stream running on the side of his console. He understood from this stream that his brother might not be faring well and the most he could hold on the enemies was only five minutes.

He had less than five minutes to destroy this tunnel and stop the invading immortal monsters. But Girisia had something else in his mind, something that would be advantageous to him.

– "Elder sister, I have arrived at the entrance… Get ready!" He informed Greya as he rammed his body into the volatile space tunnel in front of him. The inside of which was cold and not completely stabilized as the size of the tunnel was too big for Greya to handle on her own, small microscopic cracks in space kept causing constant damage to Girisia's already weak armor.

And by the time reached the other side of the space, all the armor plates on his mecha were turned to ash, exposing his internal exoskeleton

Being exposed in this environment was very dangerous for Girisia, but he didn't have any luxury to change into a better armor at the moment, as a voice attracted his attention instantly. "Stop dreaming and start setting up the charges, Gyatri won't be able to hold on for too long."

As Gyatri, Greya also held similar ideals. She had thrown a small rock at Girisia's metal exoskeleton to wake him up from his stupor.

Unlike Gyatri and Girisia who walked on the path of Externalist, the people who utilize and enhance the powers of their external weapons and tools to the extreme. Greya herself was a domain user, also called a psychic with the talent for void itself. She held the strongest burst power among her siblings, but her abilities were not as efficient or as malleable as her brothers, who adapt to most situations by changing their equipment and armament. But the rare void attribute she possessed made her a lot more unique than her own brothers, a kind of person that will be appreciated in any guild they join.

And this rare void ability of her was showing it's full might in stabilizing the 80% of space around the fractured space that exceeded the size of 700 meters and all of this on her own. "Go to the spots I have marked, they have the most unstable space around them. '' Greya said as she sent Girisia the information on all the spots she deems is good for the charges to go off.

Listening to the order, Girisia also didn't dally for long, he took out a spare mech and wore it for the protection against the space currents while he took out a space stabilizing beacon for further protection as he stepped towards the points where his sister had marked.

His own Auxiliary energy hasn't recovered yet, but this much work doesn't require much of his energy to begin with.

"Sister, I will be done in ten seconds at max, get ready to teleport us out." Girisia informed once again in the comms, though his mind was focused on another thing altogether.

– "Greya, it doesn't seem I will be able to reach on time, follow the plan as usual and teleport the moment you set…"

Suddenly the whole space around the monolith started to contract and exhale as if it was alive and breathing. All the hard work Greya did, getting ruined with each contraction of the space as it started to expand in size.

– "Greya?... Gir, what happened on your side?... Why does the size of the tunnel seem to be expanding?.."

"Brother, there seems to be an accident, sister has gone into critical condition… All her hard work, ruined. Even my charges were swallowed up in the spatial storms and I can't even sense them through my core network. I think our plan has failed." Girisia briefed his brother while dodging the emerging dimensional gaps that started to appear in his vicinity and reached the location of his sister who was under heavy debuffs and the critical state that made her incapable of moving.

"Brother,I don't think there is a chance to escape this place anymore, we will meet you at spawn point." At this point, Girisia didn't notice the lack of reply from the other side, the comms were eerily silent.

Though this silence didn't remain for long as a heavy disappointed voice came from the other side. "No need!" A hand fell onto Girisia's shoulder grabbing his attention.

"Gir, I still had my belief in you, but it seems you want to do whatever you feel like." Gyatri was disappointed, he had seen everything, how his little brother had sabotaged the plan since the start." you did all of this for mere profit and to start a war quest? Where did I go wrong in your nurturing?" This time, Gyatri didn't stop his streams and let the whole world see what actually happened and what was going to happen.

He has made up his mind.

"You know, I don't even want to know your answer." Gyatri was disheartened and his cold words caused his little brother to shudder. "The thing is, if I let my own family member do something this heinous to the people of this world, the blame will be on all of us and I can't let that happen."

Not giving his little brother any chance to explain himself or give out excuses, Gyatri took out his most valued weapon, a neutron atomizer.

A weapon that was the envy of all Externalist players and something even Girisia was scared of.

"This alone may not be enough to stop the immortal monsters on the other side, but it will be enough to collapse the whole tunnel on its own." Gyatri spoke not to his brother nor himself, but to the audience watching his stream. A stream whose clips will become one of the most famous clips of Nirvana on the internet. The same clips that will destroy the social life of Girisia.

And as Gyatri lifted the transparent ball of glass above his head, a rotten arm that absorbed all the light around it suddenly stretched out from one of the space cracks, sensing the threat of the neutron atomizer.

"Gir and Greya, let's meet back on the spawn point, we need to have a talk." Gyatri said in a heavy tone completely ignoring the demonic hand. For it was already too late for the owner of the hand.

It was the day a whole planet disappeared from the star map. The area where that planet stood soon became a death zone, as anything entering its vicinity would soon be disintegrated into basic atoms by the remnant energy from the blast that still floated in that place.

It was also the day a huge news broke out, Gyatri the greatest explorer in the world of Niravana has just kicked his brother from his guild.

"Did you know since the start brother?... That this world was real?" Drinking the warm porridge in the mess hall, Girisia pondered as he glanced at this brother who was talking to a military commander from time to time on the other side of the room. And from the looks of it, his brother was still as good as before in extracting information from NPCs.

Though Girisia won't admit it, he was a lot like his brother, though their morales may differ, they still were brothers.

In a certain test chamber that had remained empty for ten hours, a man suddenly appeared back in it and seemed to be disappointed finding that he was still in the cell.

"I thought it was some sort of a teleportation technique, but no, its their method of resting, Though these Anomans can stay awake for long, when they do need rest, they disappear from the place completely." Farsight said while writing all of her thoughts on her notepad.

"Similar cases have also been found in the barracks, these people keep disappearing and reappearing back to the same place. If we can find the pattern of their rest time, we may deepen our understanding of these people a bit more." She mused as she kept changing the screens and spy on the players living their life in the barracks.

In her research she had asked some soldiers to kill some players by taking them far into the wilderness and as she assumed, they spawned back in the barracks, so her and Vanara's plan seem to work to some extent too.

And as she kept changing the screen, she stopped suddenly at a particular junction. "This is the first anomaly among these anomalies, we need to give this one a special attention."

The person on the screen was none other than Girisia.
