Due to its unique nature, there were only two methods to enter the Decidue cave. One was to find one of the vents which were responsible for ventilation from the underground and found all over the decidue region.
The second one was the largest entrance to the cave, a large hole in the middle of the city. A hole that can only ever be entered through an elevator, as jumping into the hole directly would usually result in death unless the individual is a grade two at least.
So for this particular group of 9 people, jumping into the hole was not much of an issue. But even if it was not an issue, Alfin thought it would be much of a chore to do this.
He was not a criminal and neither was there an issue with him using the elevator. Instead, if he chose the illegal option, he would have to jump over a wall that surrounded the hole while also pulling up all the luggage and equipment on his back.
