She had never once seen her so infuriated, perhaps it was because she cared for him just as much as she so passionately emphathized for the others. However, Eris felt that he just had to be favored all the more.
"If you had already disobliged what mortals have done to yourself, then you could just easily dismiss my words."
Eris marched away from one's sight, her aura remaining as direful as ever. One could barely tolerate such a repugnant aura; however, Gaia showed not an ounce of interest, not even disgust.
She gripped Saverra's file as if she had been pressured to take her choice aback; nevertheless, she soon changed her mind.
"..."
That morning, it appeared as if the faction had barely suffered any collateral damage from the mutant attacks, even as non-human civillians wandered the nearby areas within the faction's reach that same evening.
Lumia had never seen one, but she was ascertain that no matter how large their size were to be, the faction still somehow managed to leave the situation unharmed.
Yusha had also accompanied her to kindergarten that day, as promised.
"Alright kid, get going. Oh, and make su—"
Yusha turned her gaze towards a man just beside her, he wore black like it was all his emotions cooped up into his wardrobe.
"Grandmaster! What a pleasant coincidence."
He frowned, catching but a glimpse of Yusha nauseated him. If only she belonged not from the faction, but the Serenovas, she would've possibly even received a warm smile.
"Yusha Wyvain. 7th representative of the Lance. You truly are, as Nova had said so. Audacious."
"Ahahaha! Not to worry, not to worry. I'm truly certain your son here—"She stared at the young boy he held from an inch away, glancing at his facial features all the way below to the soles of his feet.
"...will be having a splendid time here at kindergarten."He stomached her words, but that would not be the outcome as soon as she spoke too much of the current head.(of the serenova family)"How about I treat you to a meal after this, yes?"
"Onyx. Don't talk to anyone. Father has some business to attend to."The young boy nodded, running off into the playground.
Airus stared back at Yusha; he seemed as if he had a lot to say, but no words were expelled from his mouth.
"Is that a no?"He prepared himself to pace off, but Yusha would not let him off the hook as so easily."Tell me, Airus Ivanovich. Are you yet to be aware of Nova's whereabouts, considering you've been associated with her daughter's death?"
He scoffed towards the young woman, but the smile pasted on her face just wouldn't wear off."You've always preferred to meddle with others' matters, but to go this far just seems a little perturbing, don't you agree?"
"I'd beg to differ, grandmaster. Your wife, is she still up and moving? I thought she'd have shifted into but a bag of bones by now, considering the fact it was an arranged marriage. Hadn't expect you to take it as so seriously, to the extent you'd be willing to "reproduce" with her. Ahahaha!"
"Will you shut it already. Are you treating me, or are you just going to continue babbling about shit?"She burst out in laughter, unable to hold back her tears amidst the situation.
It was but the two of them left outside the kindergarten as of now, although neither really cared of such."Besides the free meal...who did you just take to kindergarten as of now."
"Oh, that's highly confidential. I must apologize for being unable to be your casette tape as to ramble about the most sensitive topics as freely as I could."
"You'd better speak of the rest of the details when we finally get to munch on something. I'd rather not have you munching on your own words."
Instead of feeling offended by this though, she continued to cackle throughout the rest of their conversation on their way to the restaurant.
"..."
"Hello?"Lumia greeted the young boy, who clearly preferred silence amongst his surroundings. He chose not to open his mouth, taking his father's words to heart.
Lumia took a seat beside him, curious of his current status and as to why her father despised of her "aunt".
"...You can speak too, right?"He attempted to avoid her, but considering he hadn't spoken to anyone his age just yet, he soon gave in.
"Mm...yes."She smiled, knowing she could at least talk it out with someone throughout the ordeal.
"What's your name? I'm Lumia."His head tilted towards her, but his gaze remained as blank as his father's. He wore quite the rack of expensive clothing, but Airus dressed as if he had just been to a funeral.
"Onyx. Onyx Ivanovich." His way with words felt prejudiced, but she didn't think of it as much. Saverra had already experienced adulthood, but it seemed as if she had just begun living.
"Why is your father mad at Auntie?"He was told not to speak of such private matters regarding his family, but could he really help it? He clearly just wished for a life-time friend.
"Are you her niece, or are you...a Serenova?"
"A Serenova. We aren't related."
"That explains your purple eyes."
"Hmm? Do all Serenovas have purple eyes?"
"Yes. Purple, ranging to red."
A moment of silence washed up the conversation, but Onyx soon spoke of the ordeal.(because she's a Serenova)"Father doesn't like the faction. He would rather not talk to them, saying they're mean. How do you not know about it?"
"...I wasn't exactly told. Either way, the people in the faction are really nice, they aren't mean at all."Being a Serenova does come in handy one way or another, but Onyx still wouldn't to believe her anyway, even as one that the Ivanovich could trust.
"I...see. But, it's hard to believe the words of someone I just met. Maybe I'll trust you, maybe I won't."He then got up from the corner of the playground, but his words did not seem to have eased Lumia; It but instead, irritated her greatly.
"(He's a hard person to convince...just like the others. Are all the people in this world similar to him or his father?)"
As the class proceeded, Lumia was left outside, keeping the swing all to herself. It seemed as if her new life had already started off so badly, and her hope was yet again starting to demolish itself...
"..."
"If you've only invited me out to speak of Lumia's death, then you've treated me for absolutely nothing."
"Not at all...do you remember—"
"No."
"Let me finish my sentence first, would you?"
"No—"
"I CAN TELL YOU WHERE NOVA IS."
The atmosphere went silent, as Airus budged from his seat."You should have said so from the start. You had me going deaf with all your pointless sentences."
"Oh, can you not. I told you to let me finish. However, you'd better not inflict any harm to the faction."
"She already has a husband, and I already have a wife. What more do I have left to lose by knowing—"
"..."
"YOU BASTARDS! LET GO OF MY WIFE, LET GO OF HER!"
"AIRUS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! THAT'S NOT YOUR WIFE!"
"LET HER GO! YOU'VE SEALED NOTHING BUT HER CORPSE IN THERE, YOU WON'T EVEN BURY HER! YOU HEARTLESS JERKS—"
"..."
"Lumia, darling. Why won't you speak to the others?"
"I don't wanna. Can I stay here?"
"But sweetie, you'll miss out on your first magic classes...?"
She pouted, as if she were a child...however, she soon came to her senses."Okay, I'll go..."
The day passed as if time was overdue. At this time of the day, she usually came back home from work. Having to always see her parents had to be the most tiresome part of her job, though.
She learned none too advanced tier magic, but she learned several spells of the lowly.
"Blaze."Her hand began to smolder, but it inflicted no injuries. The tiny flame grew brightly; putting it out also only required you to close your hands.
On the other hand, Onyx's blaze grew into a blue, cackling flame of sorts. He truly had a knack for magic, just like his father..."You convey all your anger into the flame, not amusement."
As she stared at him, she allowed all her madness to surge through her emotions. The flame grew brighter and brighter, eventually shifting into a greenish, purple color. The assigned caretaker feared the worst, quickly asking her to close her hand.
Even Onyx was startled, how much anger had she been letting flow into her veins?"...Sorry."
"It's alright darling, you did great. You don't need to worry."Deep inside though, Lumia felt proud to have conveyed all her madness. She smiled sincerely, for the second time in this world...she hoped these flames would one day, no longer linger.
