Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: 6 years

Some say a year is both short and long but in this world a year is treated as a week. For the inhabitants of this world, 6 years is very short but to me, it was quite long.

I have made a lot of progress with my Steel Body mastery, my Basic Swordsmanship is now Advance Swordsmanship, Cure and Heal are now in a mastered state in terms of mastery, overall I have grown considerably.

But Lloyd's growth is even more shocking compared to mine.

[Name: Lloyd Vlad

Age: 12

Techniques: Wind Draw (advance), Intermediate Swordsmanship (beginner), Fleeting Steps (intermediate)

Spells Learned: Cure (master), Heal (grandmaster), Light Shield (advance), Holy Advance (intermediate), Protective Cover (introduction), Fortress of God (waiting...)

Innate Talent: Two Souls One Body (growth), Holy Body (basic)]

In one year Lloyd learned Light Shield and Holy Advance but he focused more on Light Shield over the other spell. It took 5 years to barely learn Protective Cover and Fortress of God has yet to have started.

His techniques on the other hand progressed slowly compared to his spells but still is a large chunk of progress compared to the other children learning under William.

As for how Lloyd learned those new spells, it was given by William himself. After learning Light Shield rather quickly, William focused more energy on training him compared to the other children for one simple reason.

His body is stronger by a large margin compared to the other children and can handle a lot more training. To give a clear perspective, learning Light Shield requires the user to have a body stronger than a grizzly bear, if the user doesn't meet the requirements an unbearable pain will then ensue.

Tendons will rupture, blood vessels bursts, and muscles contract and expand uncontrollably which causes the heart to beat faster and faster until the heart itself explodes. That is how dangerous this spell is and Lloyd learned it quite easily without suffering pain.

So with this, William guided Lloyd slowly and taught him techniques and spells that he deemed helpful for his growth.

The training Lloyd endured was hellish but he powered through them all and did them daily, now his body is quite strong but not as strong as mine.

[Steel Body 99.9%- Elite Tier]

I solely focused on training my Steel Body and practiced swordsmanship as a way to train my physique. It was quite a painful journey but it made me feel a little alive, the accomplishment I felt when I reached Elite Tier was simply wonderful.

Maybe by doing a couple more months of training, I will reach the next Tier. But today, a very important event is happening.

Lloyd and Vanze are entering the Royal Crown Academy today, as the best of the best children of the Alia church, they were naturally chosen to enter the Academy. It happened about a year ago when an instructor from the academy came to the church and tested both Lloyd and Vanze.

To make it short, he was utterly stupefied by the knowledge of Vanze and in disbelief at Lloyd's ability to learn Spell's rapidly.

So without any mishaps, they got in and will be going to the Academy one year later and that is now.

"Lloyd, have you prepared everything to stay in the Academy? You and Vanze will be staying there for quite some time, so it's better if you bring many clothes with you." Sister Telia was helping Lloyd pack his clothes inside a small pouch while doing so, she warned him about safety being his number one priority, buying food is more expensive than cooking, and other essential advice that will help him.

Lloyd listened attentively as he hasn't gone outside besides going to the training ground and he was unfamiliar with the outside world. So the advice Sister Telia was giving would help him gauge the priorities that he can set and the things he could do and not do.

After an hour lecture, Sister Telia imparted all the knowledge she could to Lloyd.

"Did you understand everything?"

"Yes, Sister Telia. I will keep in mind the words you spoke to me." Lloyd nodded solemnly

"Good, let's head out. The carriage is about to arrive." Sister Telia was satisfied with his answer and took hold of his hand and lead him out while carrying the small pouch in her other hand.

...

Entrance of the Alia Church.

There stood a beautiful statue of a woman with cloth covering her private parts, in her right hand held a short sword that pointed at the scale floating in front of her, in her left hand a mirror hovered quietly as it reflected the beauty of the statue.

The statue was the Goddess of the church, Alia, the God of Beauty and Justice.

In front of the statue were Sister Telia, Vanze, and Lloyd paying their respect to her. Behind them was a beautiful white carriage, a man in his 40s wearing long black pants, a blue long-sleeved shirt with an embroidered black rose on his right chest, sharp blue eyes, and quite solemn when he gazed at the statue.

He was also paying respect towards the Goddess statue.

Minutes later, the trio turned around and greeted the man.

"Sir Siori, it is nice to meet you in person. The bearer of the title Blue Tiger lives up to your name." Sister Telia praised as she gazed past behind him.

A proud small tiger with white and blue stripes laid lazily on the front seat of the carriage, the fierce aura of a predator made the horses shiver.

"Haha, my title is nothing compared to your Holiness, Saint Telia." Siori humbly replied to her.

"Don't be so polite, please take care of these two. Especially Lloyd...you need to..." Sister Telia leaned into Siori's ear and whispered.

Siori's face was serious as he listened carefully, from time to time he would gaze at Lloyd with an unknown light in his eyes.

Vanze curiously looked at Lloyd's face wondering what is so special about him while the boy himself just felt speechless.

'Mythl! What did you do when I slept!?' Lloyd screamed inside his mind.

'Eh? What are you screaming for? All I did was train all night and did nothing else, except for going to the bathroom once in a while, I didn't do anything wrong.' Mythl replied casually as he tried to sleep again.

'Oh...hmmm...Maybe you shouldn't train at night anymore.' Lloyd considered that Mythl's training all night must be the reason Sister Telia told Siori to pay a close eye on him.

'Nope. Not possible. It's not my problem you have dignity, suck it up and be happy that you have a watcher who will protect you from danger.' He replied with a bland voice and went to sleep.

Lloyd was in disbelief and also quite speechless, Mythl was right, he will have a watcher who can protect him if he is in danger. Even though it is embarrassing for him, it was better to be safe than regret it later.

"Did you get it all sir Siori?" Sister Telia asked for confirmation.

"Yes, your Holiness. Do not worry, the academy will treat them good and you can expect that they will grow into fine paladins." Siori replied with confidence in his voice.

Sister Telia nodded in a satisfied manner, she then handed Vanze and Lloyd to him.

Siori lead them inside the carriage while Sister Telia smiled kindly towards them as she waved goodbye.

"Ray, let's go!" Siori shouted inside the carriage.

The small blue tiger opened its eyes groggily, yawned before sparking with electricity that caused the horses to pull the carriage quickly.

Inside the carriage...

Lloyd and Vanze stared at the window, they saw large buildings, bustling streets, and lively adventurers. The spirit of the people of the city was high and cheerful, causing people to be infected by the energy and one couldn't help but smile at the sight of the merry citizens.

It was a short but beautiful ride, the carriage arrived at the entrance of Royal Crown Academy.

A large gate stood in front of Vanze and Lloyd who stared in awe at it, looking past the gate, a large white building with two large towers at the entrance quietly made its presence known.

It gave the feeling of old and archaic, like a relic from the past has been brought to the modern world. It was simply breathtaking.
