Joshua's P.O.V
Monday morning, I opened my eyes and wondered if my dad came back home because since he left after the argument, he had with mom he never came back home. I walked to my mom's room and my mom was already up, the bed was also made then I walked downstairs where I found my mom in the kitchen preparing breakfast for me.
"Why are you up so early?" I asked.
"Because I have a baby to prepare breakfast for," she replied.
"When are you going to stop treating me like a kid?" I asked jokingly.
"Even if you were 50, you'd still be my baby," she replied.
I could see through her eyes that the fact that my dad disappeared this long without saying a word or saying where he was going bothered her. My mom tried call some of his friends and they said he wasn't there. She couldn't call my grandparents because they didn't really like her. So, she just assumed that my dad was at their place the whole weekend.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah," mom nodded.
"You know that I'm no longer 5 years old right?" I replied.
Mom smiled "you're getting late for class,"
"I can skip class and stay with you until you're fine," I said.
"I'm fine, go to take bath and go to school," she said.
I nodded and went to prepare for class, I grabbed my phone which I didn't check the whole weekend. I left a bunch of texts and missed calls on Precious' phone but she still didn't return any of my calls. Samantha annoyed me the whole weekend because I never texted or said anything after our date. This was the craziest first week in that college and the humans have a bad way of making the first impression.
"Mom, I'm already gone," I shouted so that she could hear me from her room.
"Okay, enjoy your day baby," she replied.
I jumped into my mustang and drove to school; I drove past the bus stop hoping to see Precious and her friend but they weren't there. I finally arrived at school. When I got out of my car, I glanced at everyone standing in groups glued to the screens of their cellphones.
"Who could it be? Who is she? And this seems like the girls' toilet. Who could do such a thing to someone though?" everyone said in those groups.
I walked to class and right at the door of my class, there was a picture of a girl lying down on the floor, left with her bra and panty, luckily her face was edited out.
"What the fuck is this?" I asked the nerd guy in my class.
"I don't know," he replied "maybe it's that leave my men kind of drama, you know how girls can be."
"But how does a human being do this to another human being?" I asked.
"Welcome to the real world my friend," replied as he went to his desk.
The more I spent time around these human species, the more I realized that they didn't really love each other. Humans were different from werewolves, humans have always been devious and selfish, greedy, evil and they could never move in packs like werewolves always did. I sat on my chair at the back of the class since Precious didn't seem to be coming to class for whatever reason. I decided to check the messages in my phone since I spend days without replying a reading any text. Precious just opened my texts and never returned them. Samantha had left a bunch of text messages; I raised my head checking her favorite spot in the class and she wasn't there.
"So, you're just going to take me to a great date and then ditch me? You are not saying anything and in class you're giving me a nasty attitude. What did I do wrong?" I read the text.
Below Samantha's name there was group chat that which I had no idea who added me into it. I clicked on it and there was more picture of the half-naked girl in the toilets. Even this time I realized that her face was edited out in all those pictures. Everyone around the school was still hyped about it and probably wondering who that girl really was.
As I was scrolling through the picture, I raised my head and there was Precious walking into the class, I watched as she walked from the door to her chair. She had a hat on, I wondered what happened to her beautiful afro. I grabbed my bag and went to sit next to her. I pulled the chair that was next to her, she gave me a stare; I have never seen that kind of a look on her face before. She looked pissed or annoyed.
"What's wrong?" I asked as I sat down.
"Oh, I thought you it was someone else," she replied.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
She just nodded and just looked away from me. I took out my phone and opened the trending pictures.
"Have you seen this?" I showed her the pictures.
She glanced at the pictures then in silence she went in front of the class.
"You all find it funny, huh?" she angrily yelled, the whole class stood still "this is someone's daughter who is being bullied, just like you bunch of hypocrites, she has got feelings. Whoever did this to her deserves to burn in hell."
After furiously addressing the class, she went back to her chair. I glanced at her angry terrifying face and wondered if she knew the girl or what.
"Do you know her?" I asked.
"Should you know someone before you fight for them?" she replied "this is someone's daughter Josh, no one deserves to be treated like this."
She was really emotional about these pictures and it was really not a good idea to continue talking about the pictures, she was really not in a good mood.
"So, where were you last week?" I asked.
"I was sick," she replied.
"I bet she will never get close to him ever again" Samantha and her friend laughed as they were entering the class.
Precious angrily stared at Samantha who had a sinister smile on her face, I could feel the that the tension was bigger than I thought. Samantha glanced at me as her groupies went to their spot in the class.
"Josh, can we talk after class?" Samantha asked.
"Sure," I replied.
Samantha went to take a seat then Mr. Johnsons entered the class with a look of disappointment on his face.
"I've never seen college students who behave like a bunch of hooligans," he said "how evil can you people be? How can you rip someone's clothes off then take them pictures only to humiliate them on social media?"
Samantha and her friends giggled as the rest of the class was paying attention to Mr. Johnsons speak.
"There's no joke here Samantha," he said "you guys should know better, what's with bullying someone else's child? We are all here to learn."
"Preach sir" Samantha and her friends said mockingly.
"You will leave my class," he pointed at Samantha and her groupies "this is a serious matter and I am not going to stand you nonsense today. I don't care if your father funds this school or what, you will leave my class."
Samantha's father must've been the one who funded the school since she was the one who led the group and the most arrogant in the class. At this moment she gave a reason why I like Precious more the I like her. Her arrogance made so much noise that she bored the whole class sometimes.
"If you know who the girl in those pictures is" Mr. Johnsons added "please come forth, whoever is responsible for this will face serious repercussions. Alright let's continue with today's lesson."
After the class, Precious just grabbed her bag and without saying a word she walked out of the class. I grabbed mine and ran after her, and I spotted her walking with Angela at a distance then I ran trying to catch up to them, I held her by the arm then she violently yanked it away.
"Leave me alone," she said.
"What did I do?" I asked.
"This is all because of you," she replied.
"What are you talking about?" I asked, confused.
She didn't bother to say anything back but instead she walked away then Angela came toward me.
"The girl on the picture," Angela whispered to me "is her and she won't say who did all this, she won't tell me or her mom. So, I suggest you give her time."
"What?" I replied.
Angela just nodded and then followed her friend, it made sense why she was not in the mood. I walked to my car, wondering why she blamed about whatever happened to her. I started the engine and drove all the way to my grandparents' house looking for my dad. I knocked and my grandmother opened the door giving me a hug to show that she was happy to see me but I never smiled back at her.
"What's with the long face boy? grandma asked.
"Where's dad?" I asked.
"He's in the basement with your grandfather, what's the matter?" grandma replied.
I pushed grandma out of the door and walked all the way to the basement and found my dad and granddad in their wolf form jumping around.
"Joshua, what is going on?" grandma asked as she stood behind.
"So, you left your wife and son at home," I said "and you're here playing wolf with your dad? What kind of a father are you?"
"Josh, that's not how you should speak to your father," my grandmother said.
Both my dad and grandfather changed into their human form.
"What did you say?" my dad replied.
"You heard me," I said "all you care about is me being a so-called wolf and not the well-being of your family."
"Watch your tone when you speak to me," dad replied.
"Or what?" I asked "you always tell me to be a man and never abandon my culture but every time there's problem in your family you put your tail between your legs and run to your father's house."
My dad jumped out of anger and luckily my grandfather was quick enough to stop him.
"Joshua, you have to leave," my grandfather said.
"You are weak," I said "your ego doesn't work for you dad, it's tearing the family apart."
My dad quietly stood still as my grandfather stood next to him, while my grandmother kept on brushing me on my shoulders.
"Calm down," grandma said to me.
"You're going to lose mom because of your arrogance," I said then stormed out of my grandparents' house.
I jumped into my car and sped away.
