"Prrrm prrrm prrrm prrrm" the alarm sounded as it hit 9 am.
"Oh no. I overslept. I have just an hour to reach the airport." Hazel rushed out of her bed and headed straight to the bathroom. In about twenty minutes she was done bathing and brushing her teeth. She got out of the bathroom and entered her closet to dress.She applied cream, styled her long hair into a ponytail, applied a light makeup. She wore her matching undergarments. She had already selected the dress she was going to wear the night before. She wore a sleeveless crop top and a high waist jeans and took her jacket and headed to her room. Upon reaching her room the exhaled and sat on her bed.
'Why on earth am I in a hurry. Besides I'll be taking a private jet duh' she thought.
She took her phone and decided to search for her so called husband. It wouldn't hurt seeing the face of the person she is married to. She typed the Daltons heir and the back of a man popped up. She read what the media had to say about him and it was nothing good. Articles about how womanising he is were displayed everywhere and nobody got the chance to take a picture of his face only his backside and that too in secret. He was said to be handsome and a multi billionaire. She didn't even know the name of her husband.
'What kind of marriage is this. That I don't even know the name of my husband' she thought and laughed as everything happening seemed funny to her. She heard her mum call her downstairs and she took her suitcases and went downstairs. Upon reaching downstairs, she greeted her mum and gave her a peck on the cheek. After that she greeted her father and then her elder sisters.
"So are you ready for your trip to LA?" Mr. Mendes inquired
"Hmm... yes dad. I'm gonna miss you all. I promise to visit from time to time" 'If only my so called husband is not a monster and will allow me to visit you' She faked a smile at her parents.
"Well, let's eat shall we." Mrs. Mendes said to reduce the tension in the room.
"Alright" she responded.
In about twenty minutes, they were done eating. Hazel's dad helped her send her suitcases downstairs. They all got into the family car and drove off.
At the airport
"I'm gonna miss you guys so much. Please come visit me. Dad you know I can't stay angry at your for long but please let it not happen again especially to any of my sisters. I love you all" Hazel said as she hugged her parents and sisters one at a time.
"Dear it won't happen again I promise. And we will visit you from time to time. So it's time for your jet to move. Bye love."
"Bye dad. Bye everyone. I love you all" She said as she walked to the jet as two men took her luggage to the jet. She wished in her heart that she would by chance see Ace before she left but he didn't appear.
'He must have really been hurt by all this. I'm sorry Ace. I love you' She thought.
The flight from New York to Los Angeles took about 6 hours. Hazel was really exhausted and she fell asleep. She was awoken by the voice of the pilot over the PA System that they had arrived. She stood up, stretched and straightened her top and passed her hand on her jeans. She got out of the jet and was immediately welcomed by so many muscled and armed men. They escorted her to a black ferrari f8 tributo. She got into the car and the driver took off. She saw she was in the middle of a convoy when they took off.
'Just how rich are these people.' she thought as she shook her head. The drive to the mansion was quiet but not boring because she explored the city with her eyes. She realized los angeles was actually a very nice city and was very developed in terms of infrastructure just like NYC. After an hour she realized they had reached a place secluded from the city with no infrastructure in sight. It was as if they had entered an estate. The place was beautiful with trees and flowers which had been well catered for everywhere. She loved the place at one glance and after what seemed like a thirty minutes drive, a huge mansion came into view. It was very nice and had a fountain in front of it. The driver drove around the fountain and came to a halt at the entrance of the mansion.
"Ma'am we are here" the driver said only to receive a nod from Hazel.
