Chapter 2 - Ch.2 Gullible and the deceptive

This is thing is heavy, it truly is. A two mile walk to school certainly is too hard for a plebeian like me. Why does society subject such torture to young children, we should just live a free life!

The frustrated Cache thought as he walked with a slouche as the luggage of his bag seemed too heavy, it certainly looked comical, as onlookers seemed to giggle as they pointed his way.

"Cache?"

Cache looked behind and saw Denam on a mountain bike easily riding through the street of the small town.

"Using your brother's again?"

The bike easily seen through the sheer size wasn't meant for children.

"No no, this is a steed meant for a gallant

prospect such as me"

Denam said as he placed a hand on his chest.

'Look at this weirdo, guess I'll just humor him'

"Ah yes your noble sire, would you kindly assist a poor soul to carry his luggage throughout his journey?"

Putting on a fake smile, Cache mustered enough strength to carry his bag to be handed to Denam who reached out a single hand whilst cycling.

'Dumbass'

*Thud**Crash*

"Puhahaha!"

A loud crash was heard as Cache held onto his stomach as he burst out laughing.

"Denam?"

________________

I looked at poor Denam who was victimized by my whims.

"Gosh, Denam I'm sorry"

His hands was bleeding after using them to cushion his fall. I felt horribly bad, I truly am, maybe I should tone it down a little next time.

"C'mon dude get up"

The poor fella was looking down at his hands and I couldn't quite clearly see the expression on his face, but judging from the droplets, the brat's prolly sniveling.

"Come on let's have it treated at the nearby store"

The school was just a few minutes walk away, but I wouldn't want to be questioned and have that woman called again by the teacher, on the first day no less. Thankfully a convenience store was nearby to bandage and hide the wound.

"Aren't you a hero? get up! start walking man"

"That's right there ya go"

I helped the sniveling brat up, who started smirking when the word 'Hero' popped up.

"All right here's the plan, we bandage up your hands"

"Then when the teacher notices it and asks what do you say?"

I was getting the easy Denam to rehearse, of course, it's for me to avoid repercussion. I threw up my hands and readied myself.

"I chanced upon evil at my home"

"I quarelled the eldritch horrors on my territory"

"I thwarted them at a great cost"

"Then you show them your hands"

"There!"

The boy was clapping his hands at my play, in which made him wince after his body remembered it was wounded. Honestly Denam, you should get your head checked.

"You get it?"

"Yeep!"

Truthfully that excuse was bull, but for Denam who was perceived as a weirdo in school, the teacher would probably just accept it, because as long as he shows an adult's trademark phony concerned look on his face the people won't judge him as irresponsible.

"You're so smart Cache!"

"I knew it! choosing you as my hero partner was right!"

"Yeah yeah sure whatever bud"

Cache was guiding the bike with both of his hands, while Denam carried the overloaded bag and his own.

"Phew"

Cache heaved a sigh of relief upon getting his burden finally off.

"Damn, you're a real freak aren't you?"

"Hmmm?"

"Nevermind"

Seeing that Denam casually slinging that heavy bag of his, Cache couldn't help but let out a remark.

"But Denam you sure carry such a loaded bag on the first day"

"Really Cache? Cuz you don't look particularly burdened with it?"

"Don't tell me it's part of your hero training regime?"

"As expected of you, you don't even let a single second wasted"

"I should try and do that as well"

"Piss off!"

Cache felt like he was being mocked for his trauma.

Buying bandages was proven quite easy prolly because old Dean was there as a cashier. I quite like him to be honest, I super-duper do.

He was pretty chill when he saw Denam coming in the store with his blood staining the floor.

"Out"

With a point of his finger, Denam was kicked out and left to wait for me. Now that is what I'd become when I grow up, a person true to himself and around him, well minus the face that looked like a used old rag and broken teeth. If it were other employees they would probably act like they were concerned about the wounded kid, but just honestly doesn't want him dirtying the floor.

"Goodbye old man"

With a wave I left the store and hurriedly bandage the poor kid.

"Now you look like a true battered veteran hero!"

I humored the gullible Denam and easily bandaged the him. A work I'm quite proud with.Truth be told, I'm quite dextrous, I truly am.
