I woke up. The heat is killing me. Today is a pretty hot-day it seems. I went to the kitchen there I saw mom. Mom's making pasta. I always enjoyed and will continue to enjoy my life with my mom. But I miss dad. They got divorced when I was ten. Now I am 13. 3 years I haven't seen him. But I do talk to him over phone but still I miss him. I don't even know why they got divorced, all I know is they had a big fight one day. Of course both of them yelled at each other but, to be honest I haven't heard my dad say anything. I saw him saying something but he was so calm. My mom was the one who is yelling and yelling.
"Hey, mom"
"hi sweetie"
"pasta! Cool!"
"I thought I would just make some time for my daughter, I have been so busy designing and all"
My mom's a designer. She has her own designing studio. As I spent most of time with Ellie and Paws, I never ever miss mom.
"that's great! Thanks mom"
"pass me the pepper" mom said and I took the pepper and gave it to her.
"so, what's your Sunday plan?" mom asked
"I am going to Paws house"
"oh, umm" mom hesitated to say something.
"what, do you have anything to say?" I asked to mom.
"I thought we can just hang out today, you know, like we used to" she said. And I am surprised. She wants to spend time with me. Whoa. I mean whoaaaaaa. I thought she just wanted to be in her studio and spent time with her boyfriend- Ronald.
"That would be great mom" I said even if it is not that great. Actually it's cool. She is my mom nah!
"I really appreciate it sweetie' she said
She does? Anyway ...
OH NO. I HAVE INVESTIGATION TO DO!! I Can't HANG OUT WHEN EVERYTHING IS NOT NORMAL.
How can I say no to mom? I will just drop the investigation for a day?
Wait! Am I investigating?
"go get ready, fast" mom said and I was speechless. I was not able to say no to her.
I went to my room and got ready.
Suddenly I got a text. From paws.
"Emma, where r u?"
"running late" I replied.
After getting ready I went downstairs there is my mom.
"aww. Come E let's eat" mom said. She calls me 'E' sometimes.
We sat down and started to have pasta.
"Emma, I know you are really busy with your friends and all, so I am letting you hang out with them but only after telling an important thing." Mom said.
Important thing? What important thing?
"we are moving to France" she said.
Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!! From America we are moving to France?? Why? For what?
I haven't said anything to mom, just put an astonished face.
"I got a job there"
"but mom you have your own studio"
"business always gave me stress honey, I better work under someone. The salary is pretty good too"
"am not coming" I said at last. My school. My friends and everything I have is here. Right here at California. Am not going to France.
"I am not asking your permission, we are trying to have a conversation." She said washing her plate.
I got up and walked towards mom.
And said "I will stay here, with dad" I said.
"what? You don't like to be with me?" she asked.
I've lost control. Some bloody drew and some bloody problems is attacking me.
"I don't miss you, but I miss dad. All you care about is Ronald and your job"
"that's not true Emma"
"am going to stay with dad" I said and walked off.
Walked to paws house.
I got into paws room. There is mike! What is he doing here?
"mike? What are you doing here with paws and Ellie?"
"just came to hang out! Any prob?"
"of course not" Paws said. She changed!
"Any new updates on the investigation?" I asked and the three of them were looking each other, hesitating to say something.
"what? Tell me" I said.
"drew came back, she was on a trip. Not missing" mike said.
"what?? Is this some kind of game? First she was dead, then she was missing, now you're telling me she was on vacation. Will tomorrow she be a zombie or a mummy?" I asked
"what do we do, let's just leave this drew thing. Its none of our business" Ellie said
"what about the kidnapping of mike?" I asked
"leave it to the cops" mike said.
Okay, if he is okay. What's my prob?!
"I have a news" paws said.
We nodded.
"I got tickets for treasure hunting, 4 tickets, wanna come?" paws asked.
"of course" me, mike and Ellie said together.
Get ready for treasure hunting….
