Chapter 1 - Worst Battles

"A massacre?" The general was shocked.

"Weren't the negotiations supposed to be underway!" He slammed a table and the frightened soldier took a step backwards, "W-well.. sir, the negotiations were underway."

"Yes?!" He panicked, "U-uh.." The soldier started frantically reading aloud a piece of paper, "T-t-the negotiations were underway and things w-were going smoothly b-b-b-but.. uhhhh..." The soldier gulped his saliva and started sweating.

The general sighed, "Ugh.. calm down, I need you to hand me that report right now."

The soldier swiftly gave the report to him, a blood stain was at the bottom, "The negotiations were underway, things were going smoothly but suddenly they took out guns and shot everyone in the room..."

"This report was recovered from a body nearby the incident sir!" The soldier clapped his feet and saluted, "T-this, is very bad.. once the president gets word of this..." A cold sweat slowly enveloped his face, "It will spark a war.."

The soldier remained silent and couldn't even breathe in the situation, "I'm sure the president already knows of this, but.. what will he do?"

Back in the capital, the president read the report, but from the eyes of a guard in the room, he seemed surprisingly calm, his face didn't make any expression, no signs of a change in behavior, he even stayed silent whilst reading it.

A tall man entered the room, his voice concerned "President, surely this doesn't mean.." The president sighed, "I didn't think even they would stoop so low as to do this."

"I need to take action immediately, nobody other than me can fix this right now."

"Yes sir!" The others in the room saluted and left the room..

"Heh, that was easy enough, looks like these peace obsessed fools didn't even think that the president would've already been targeted, looks like Otis was right after all, I expected better from the president's right hand man, Nolan you've made a big mistake again."

"Now I just have to get on to step three of my genius plan to destroy this nation without expending a single soldier." A ringing started somewhere in the room, "Hm?" The disguised man stepped over the president's body behind the table, "What's this.." He picked up the object and examined it, "Beeping sound... beeping sound.... wait, beeping sound?!" The room erupted into a sudden burst of flames.

Multiple soldiers swiftly entered the room and cautiously checked the man's body, "As I expected from you people, thinking that I was going to make the same mistake again." The president and his right hand man entered the room soon after, "Did you really have to use such a high power explosive?" The president asked, "It was to make sure that nothing stayed behind, sir."

"Still.. it looks like the technology from that run down lab still far exceeds my expectations every time I see it, a body double that looks and acts exactly like a human as it is programmed to do so.."

"Quite the terrifying achievement to say the least sir."

The explosion left the whole room charred from top to bottom, not even the corpse of the disguised man was left behind, "It is, but in a war with Gaia, it's necessary to do so."

There are three prominent continents, each controlling a third of the world.

They all contain unique and separate traits from each other, especially when it came to warfare.

Gaia, the continent famous for it's greenery and faith to nature, they may cling to old ways of farming and doing manual labor, but in doing so they earned a unique and supernatural ability, to control nature, but at the same time they cannot bend nature to whatever they want, the most this ability could do for agriculture and the general population was to increase yearly yield significantly, this helped the continent's economy to rise from the lowest, up to on par with the second highest.

But this ability shined the most in battle, they'd used this to change the landscape of their borders slowly overtime to their advantage, all along the border are strategic points for defense and offense, steep hills were constructed all along the border, the use of natural advantage gave them an opportunity no one else had, you can't exactly jam a tree using an emp.

The world's high level of advanced technology didn't help the nations much whenever they'd launch an assault on the continent of Gaia, assassination and guerilla tactics were also their biggest strengths.

Though most of their history was known, few secrets and facts remained unsolved.

"Call Carter and Hugo to go to the board room, once Ivan, Nicolas and Eva return, get them to come as well," The president's right hand man saluted and yelled, "Yes sir!"

After a few hours the group arrive in the board room..

"First of all, did you all get the message?" The president stood infront of the group of gathered people, they all nodded in response, "Then you should know why you're all here." He clicked a button and a screen appeared behind him, it showed a picture taken of the meeting between Gaia and the UOE, "This picture was taken and sent to us mere minutes before the massacre took place."

Hugo, the one put in charge of defense by the president, raised his hand, "Weren't the soldiers not meant to carry weapons as a show of peace?"

"Yes, however.. in the pockets of every soldier from Gaia as seen in this picture, are holding a pistol." The president pointed to each of the soldiers.

"Wasn't Senator George attending this meeting?" Eva asked.

"He was.. but according to a report, unfortunately he was shot and killed within the first moments when they opened fire." The president's tone shifted and became saddened.

Carter crossed his arms and placed them on the table, "Then their target was George."

"That was most likely their objective here, they knew this would spark a war, George is loved and respected by most of the continent, if word got out that he was killed by an opposing continent then that would mean unavoidable war with Gaia."

"But who would want to start a war between the UOE and Gaia? it just doesn't seem plausible."

"There were rumors of a group of terrorists within Gaia but nobody had believed them to be true." Hugo opened a laptop and showed an article about a rumored terrorist group hiding within the borders of Gaia.

"If so, then they must be people from Gaia, seeing as they are within the country itself."

"Finding them will be near impossible without the cooperation of Gaia, Albert."

"Yes sir?" The president's right hand man appeared from behind him, "Send a message about this to Gaia, needless to say, keep it on low profile, this is of the utmost importance."

"I will have it arranged immediately, sir."

"It's inevitable that word will get out about this, but we need to buy as much time as we can."

"What do you need us to do?" Ivan asked.

"Eva, I'll need you to check all medias to ensure that there isn't anything related to this incident circulating around, Hugo you need to immediately enforce our borders and capture the terrorists that are still in the nation alive, we have to avoid a war with Gaia, we can't afford to lose any power over those damn bloodthirsty savages."

All who were present at the meeting knew of the potential danger in the situation, but nothing was going to be anything close to their imaginations and the worst battles were yet to come.
