I was satisfied with the house not emitting any light or voice out, unlike that other one I saw when I was going towards the mine. The mist was a lot lighter than before. The night is up.
I walked towards the house. Surprisingly, no ghouls followed me. I must have become pretty good with my walking or, should I say, running skills.
"Hey, what the hell are you doing up there?" I said in a volume quiet enough to not go past Regis's ears, who was in a prone position on top of the roof holding a rifle with a long barrel and a thick silencer attached to its muzzle.
"Watching out for you." He smiled at me; he wasn't so quiet when talking. "I can see you brought the party to us!"
Shit. Now I figured out why I didn't see any resistance from the ghouls. Those large ones were following me. I looked back at three more of those massive ghouls that came out of the mist in front of me.
"Where is your sister?" I asked while not looking back.
"She didn't expect the company that brought for us. The regular-sized ones can be taken care of by me alone."
"Ohh!" I wasn't so happy with his reply. It seems like before she comes out, I will have to bleed quite a lot. "I wish I had a sword."
"Psst!" Regis didn't reply to me, but he shot the ghoul in the left, but the feedback was not something he was expecting to see. "Bang!" The bullet did hit but was reflected away. The bones on their heads must be powerful.
"Wow! Did you kill any or just ran after seeing their strength." He couldn't help but tease me while I was busy avoiding a claw attack by the ghoul in the middle. The one on the right was strolling and looked like it was circling the house. A clever little shit!
"I did kill one of them!" I channeled more energy from the Earth, but it was getting slower, and my muscles were starting to hurt.
"Psst!" Another one of Regis's silenced bullets hit the left ghoul in the midair in front of him. This time he aimed at a much softer place on its body, the belly and the thing just flew away into the mist. After this, He had the chance to remove the massive silencer and raised the rifle again at the ghoul that had almost finished circling the house.
"Boom!" The riffle was mighty as my eardrums almost blew as he shot towards the circling ghoul. The bullet impact was also different as the thing's head almost caved into the ground.
The mist circled, and dust flew; I couldn't look for too long as I was not in luxury to worry about him. To avoid getting hit, I had to drop to the ground, then jump back, slide sideways, etc. Luckily with the energy coming from the Earth, I was still mobile enough to dodge. But sadly, I didn't have any weapons to attack, and I didn't hope my punches would be strong enough to do anything to them.
The house's doors opened, and the girls came out along with my crush, Lucy, who already had her sword in her right hand. I will never get tired of seeing this. The house floor was squeaking as her thin legs put too much concentrated weight into it. She vanished from where she was standing, and the floor burst. Damn!
I suddenly had a slow vision as Lucy's sword was swung like a cricket bat at the ghoul, which was about to bite me with those sharp and long fangs. It flew just like a cricket ball hit by an expert batsman or batswoman, to be exact in this case. She again vanished from her spot, and the ground caved in as she cut the ghoul in half, which was shot by Regis's non-silenced bullets.
She then jumped towards the mist where the other ghoul was shot and sent flying. I didn't see what she did, but another, 'Boom!' confirmed another kill.
After a while, she walked out of the mist with the sword in her back. She didn't look cool; she looked HOT, walking like that towards me.
"Why the hell did you bring them here?" I wasn't expecting this sentence, "Are you stupid? I thought you were smart!"
"I am smart!"
"Only that you are not by its looks," Regis added.
"If we were not here, you could have got the girls killed!"
I didn't know what to say; I just looked into her eyes. She turned back and walked towards the house.
"I am sorry!" I said, "I didn't know they would follow me." My tone lowered, "I thought I would be strong enough to take them out."
"You overestimated your abilities." She didn't look back, but she did stop before walking again, avoiding the mess of broken woods that she made after she came out. "You could get yourself killed too. Think more before acting."
Ahhh, shit. Things went exactly the opposite of what I wanted to happen. Everyone went back into the house with Aria was shaking her head as she was the last one to go inside.
I just sighed.
"Program E192 has been leveled up" is At least a piece of good news among all these.
"Program E192 has reached level 22.
< Touch of Gaia > can now be used to absorb Mana from the air.
The program can also use purple mists to convert into Mana at night.
< Touch of Gaia > will have more proficiency when body fat is burned. A higher conversion rate has been reached.
Program E192 can now obtain physical upgrades by absorbing special biological items dropped by demons."
Physical upgrades! Now that's something new!
