~~Crystal~~
2:15AM
I finally spot Denise walking towards me with her suitcase trailing behind her. Her black hair is tied up and she looks very tired yet excited to be back home finally.
She wears a silk loose light pink shirt tucked into a long flow white skirt, sleeves rolled up to her elbows.
I stand to my feet and walk towards her.
She sees me and delight springs on her face, the same on mine.
I've missed her a lot.
"Crystal !". She scurries towards me and engulfs me in her arms, squeezing me tight.
"Denise ". My voice comes out muffled and I laugh at how tight she's holding me.
She must have missed me a lot too.
"It feels so good to be back. I missed here a lot ". She says whilst letting go of me.
I clear my throat and narrow my eyes.
"And I missed you too, of course, idiot ".
I smile in satisfaction. "That's more like it ".
"I'm sorry for making you wait so long, thank you ". She says as we walk out of the airport.
The car my boss lend to me to use was sitting there in the parking lot.
We climb into the car and I begin to drive to our apartment.
"It must have been so boring sitting and waiting at the airport all by yourself, I'm so sorry". Denise said sympathetically.
"Nah! I wasn't alone for most of the time ".
"What, did you make a friend?". She asks, a confused expression forming on her face.
I shrug. "I wouldn't say a friend, cause we don't know anything about each other but other than that... He seemed nice , I guess ".
"Hmm .. ". Denise smirks. "He?".
I sigh as I know exactly what she's thinking. "No".
"I never said anything ".
"You didn't have to. I know you were thinking it".
"So who is he ?". She probes.
"Just a random guy ".
She continues attacking me with random questions but I remain silent driving until we finally approached our apartment.
Our apartment is on the top floor and the building itself is quite small.
But it's good enough for us.
Denise takes her suitcase out of the car and we head inside. There's a lift we step into pressing the top floor button and waiting.
"God, I'm so hungry ". Denise whines holding her stomach.
I chuckle. "I guess a snack is available or I might make myself available in the kitchen to make you meal, any which way ".
She nods enthusiastically.
The doors to the lift open and we step out.
I grab my keys from my pockets as we walk to our front door. Twisting the key into the lock, it opened.
Denise rushes inside as I close the door rolling my eyes to face her.
"No, it's fine. Step inside with your dirty shoes". I say aiming that last part at her.
"Stop being moody".
I roll my eyes. "I'm just telling you to be clean. What could I be moody for ?".
"Maybe because you won't ever get to see that mystery boy of yours again. So you are taking out your anger on me ".
"Shut up, Denise". I sigh flopping on the nearest couch. "I'm definitely not crushing on a stranger ".
"Well I'll stop talking about him if you tell me his name ".
"No ". I say smiling evilly.
"Was he cute ?".
I bit my lip thinking about him.
I mean, well, I guess he was.
"Maybe ". I say finally after much thought about it.
"What letter does his name start with ?".
"Denise! I thought you were hungry! Why are you asking me stupid questions?".
She groans and turn to her phone. "You are no fun".
"Well this no fun person is offering to cook for you this late so I think you should be grateful ". I say standing up.
But she didn't respond.
Her eyes were totally fixed on her phone.
"Denise ?".
"Hmm ?".
I sigh irritated. "Stop staring at your phone ".
"I'm busy. News just came out that Sugar is back in the country and I need to make sure that it's true and not just a media stunt".
I remember what the mystery guy at the airport said that I should not search the name up.
Well he didn't say I shouldn't ask my best friend.
Maybe Denise will know about this Sugar.
"Who's Sugar ?".
She gasps staring at me. "How can you not know the most handsome man in the world ?".
"The what ?".
"Sugar. He's a popular rapper, like this guy is so famous, all of his songs are hits from back to back, always topping every chart. And his visuals are so good, he was featured on top 100 handsome men in TIMES magazine gaining the number one spot".
"I do not know him ". I admit after she narrates the guy's story to him.
"How can you be my best friend and not know Sugar ? I've been a fan of him for a while now ".
"You don't like rap ". I say reminding her.
"Well yeah but he's handsome ".
I roll my eyes. "Who cares ?".
"Uh, basically everyone in the world does except you. He's the most followed person on Instagram. Are you living under a rock or something, how can you not know him, he's just so hot, I love him so much ".
I shrug and yawn. "Well I'm going to cook so you can stuff your mouth with food and not disturb me with your Sugar of a guy ".
"He's my celebrity crush ".
"I do not care ".

A Week Later:

~~Vanquish~~
I hated having to constantly have someone with me.
It's nauseating that I can't go out alone.
Especially all I ever wanted to do was walk the streets alone like I was just another ordinary person.
I wanted to feel normal.
So I did the only thing I could think of.
I snuck out of the dorm.
It wasn't anything new.
I just wanted to be able to have some freedom even if it was only a bit.
Now, walking free on the road, whistling to myself, I felt free.
I tucked my hands in my pockets looking around consciously just Incase.
Passing by a group of girls, they stared at me whispering to themselves.
"Fuck!". I cussed peaking my head round the corner.
They recognized me.
I could hear their footsteps following behind me closely.
Dammit!
They were those kind of fans who would trail you down.
I mumbled curse words under my breath as my eyes scanned wildly until they finally landed on a cafe that was seemingly empty.
I glanced around the corner one more time before pulling the hood over my head and speed walking to the cafe.
"Sugar!!!". A distant voice shouted my name.
I ran the rest of the way to the cafe attempting to walk inside when a girl stood by the entrance.
"Sorry but we are closed ". She said trying to close the doors.
My panic rose as I knew the girls would find me any moment from now.
"Look, I just need to hide so they don't see me ".
She paused momentarily opening the doors slightly. "So who don't see you ?".
"He went towards that area !! I saw him".
I cringe hearing one of the girls shout that to her fellow stalkers.
The girl in the cafe opened the doors and I stepped in immediately running towards the counter hiding behind it.
"Why are you hid__..". The girl's voice trailed off.
I peeked out of the counter and my eyes widened at the sight.
Outside the entrance of the cafe were what seemed to be fifteen to twenty teenagers with their phone cameras pointed ready to capture while there were also men with professional cameras.
Paparazzi.
I frowned watching them.
Can't I just have a peaceful walk?
"Sorry, but we are closed!!". The cafe worker shouted locking the front doors.
The teenagers were yelling at her but she didn't seem to mind as she pulled down the blinds shutting them out.
I sigh out of relief standing from where I was hiding.
"Thank you ". I say finally having the time to take a good look at her.
Dark brown hair, pretty brown eyes and plump lips.
My eyes widened in realization as I remembered she was the girl sitting next to me at the airport last week.
"Who are those people ? And why were they chasing you ?".
I removed the mask from my face showing her who I was as a response.
"Hey! It's you!". She exclaimed. "Vanquish ".
Vanquish ?
Yeah, I told her that was my name.
I thought she would know me as Sugar ?
"Yeah. It's me ". I muttered taking a seat on the high propped chair.
She crossed her arms. "You didn't answer my question. Why were they chasing you ?".
"Uhh, remember when I said I'll be recognized if people stare at me?".
"Y-Yeah ?".
"Well they stared too long and they figured out who I was ". I reply.
"Who are you exactly ?".
I tilted my head to the side out of confusion. "Do you not know who I am ?".
"No !". She cocked her eyebrows. "Should I ?".
I scanned her face for any sign of her kidding but she was truly clueless about who I was.
Which is absolutely a surprise.
