Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Kick Them Out of the House

[Stephanie's POV]

Knock, Knock, Knock. Three knocks at the door, it's Mrs. Grete. "Miss, Carl and Freya come here to visit you'."

"No! Don't, don't let them in. Tell them I'm sleeping." I shot back with wide eyes. No, I couldn't see them yet. I didn't know if I'd be able to control my thoughts of killing them if I saw them now, and more importantly, I hadn't figured out how I was going to get my revenge.

Mrs. Grete was surprised at my reaction. Her face showed concern, and she glanced at Patrick, who nodded to her. Without asking any more questions, she simply closed the door to the room.

About five minutes later, there were three more knocks on the door, and it must have been Carl and Freya again. I remember they used to ignore what Mrs. Grete said.

I felt very annoyed and grabbed a blanket. I put it over my head and yelled to the people outside, "Just kick them out of the house."

"Patrick, don't open the door. I don't want to see anyone now!" I heard the door open under the covers, and I was quite angry. This was my room. How dare they come in without my permission?

"Uh, I don't think I can stop our father from opening the door."

Dad? I took the blanket away and sat up suddenly from the bed. With his brown eyes wide-open, my father was shocked at how messy my hair was and how red and puffy my eyes were.

I was also shocked to notice a man I had never seen before standing behind my father.

Who's he?

**Ten minutes ago**

[Arthur's POV]

Fortunately, Eric recognized me when I was surrounded by the wolves of the White Star Lake pack. He was surprised that I had made it to his territory alone through the magic and mists of the Lyete Mountain. But he welcomed me anyway.

I hid the fact that I had come with Witch Lassie.

As far as I knew, it was almost impossible to find a witch or wizard who knew magic nowadays. But still, the presence of magic would threaten the lives of werewolves, like the enchanted dagger and silver arrow that took away my luna's life. Very few wolves would hold goodwill towards those who had magic. So it would be better to hide the existence of Witch Lassie.

After I shifted to my human form and borrowed a shirt and pants from them, Eric patted me on the back and asked, "Arthur, how long has it been since we've seen each other. How's it going? Great?"

"I'm fine. You look a lot older than you did twenty years ago. How are you?" I hugged him.

"I'm not too bad, as you can see." He waved his hand casually and turned to take me back to his packhouse. A concerned look came over his face, "You haven't found your luna yet?"

"Unfortunately, no. But I know I will find her soon." I smiled. Werewolves usually kept their youthful appearance until they met a mate to conceive a child. I still kept the look the same as when I was twenty. Eric would certainly think I was not like an alpha who had already found my luna.

"Now, let me take you around. maybe you will see my two naughty puppies."

"Oh, you have two children? In fact, I didn't know Eric had two children. But the only one I couldn't wait to meet was only my future mate.

"Arthur, I assume you didn't come to my place specifically to enjoy the mists of the Leyte Mountain or to visit my White Star Lake pack, did you?" Eric asked me on his way to take me to his packhouse.

"Well, actually, I came to you to see if you would like to lend me a pack member as my assistant." I calmly made up the lie I had already prepared.

"Assistant?" Eric's eyes widened.

"Yes. It's always been my best beta Chris helping me with pack matters, ever since I became the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack 20 years ago. However, a few days ago, Chris suddenly asked me to give him a long vacation. So, I need to find a good assistant to help me with my pack affairs." I explained.

I didn't think Eric would refuse my request. My pack was one of the three largest packs on this continent. And the number of members of my pack was probably five times that of the White Star Lake Pack. This was a wonderful opportunity for Eric to get his kids exercised. Eric looked a little excited as I thought, but he quickly calmed down.

"You know my pack is not large, and I rarely let my pack members out of the Leyte Mountain. I was wondering why you didn't go to one of the other large packs and pick a suitable child with more knowledge and intelligence?" Eric asked, his cheeks reddening a bit.

"My friend, you don't have to be so modest. Although we haven't seen each other for twenty years, I know you. I could still remember you won fifteen alphas from other groups at the Alpha Conference. That's not something an ordinary alpha can do." I said sincerely. I wasn't lying. Eric was indeed an outstanding alpha.

Eric looked at me with a smile and said, "But, I lost to you in that convention."

"I wasn't going to visit every pack because you were the first person I thought of when the idea of trying to find an assistant came to me. I believed that the children chosen from your pack would not let me down."

"I thought you would be interested in meeting my two children." With reddened cheeks, he cleared his throat. It was clear that Eric was pleased to accept my compliment.

"I'm looking forward to meeting them."

"Just kick them out of the house. I want to sleep." I heard the girl behind the door say. Her voice was tinged with annoyance, and I couldn't detect any desire to sleep at all.

"No, why don't I feel mate bond?" Paul asked, sounding disappointed.

"Buddy, she's only 17 now. Suppose everything doesn't change in this world. In that case, she has to accept that jerk's rejection a year later, before she can re-establish a new mate bond with me," I answered Paul's question, keeping my eyes staring at the door.

Eric gave me an apologetic look, and the she-wolf standing in the doorway didn't even dare to look up at us. Eric knocked on the door himself and opened it straight away to enter.

"Patrick, don't open the door. I don't want to see anyone now!"

I heard her say this to the man in the room. Patrick? I took a glance at this roughly 6-foot werewolf's look. He owned the same short chocolate brown hair and brown eyes as Eric. I guessed that he was Eric's son, my future mate's brother. I wasn't going to think about why this man didn't save his sister a year later. I just wanted to see my mate now.

I quickly devoted my eyes and attention to the girl who had thrown off her blanket and suddenly sat up from the bed. There was no mate bond between her and me. Plus, she was with her head wrapped in several circles of white bandages. But I still thought it was the most beautiful and interesting girl I had ever seen.

It turned out that her eyes were golden brown, and these stunning eyes were better than any of the amber I had in my collection in my pack's box.

Unfortunately, she didn't smell like my favorite lemon at the moment. Her scent now contained a little bit of earthy smell, motorcycle gasoline, antiseptic potion, and a little bit of rose.

But none of that mattered. The most important thing was that she was alive now.
