Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 I was Silly

Tears streamed from my eyes as I watched that short and plump omega turn briskly toward the ruthless future alpha of my friend pack.

I tried to ignore the gasps and moans from the bitch couple beside me. I looked desperately at the dark, moonless sky with only stars.

Today was the New Moon. Maybe that's why Carl and Freya killed me on the day when the moon goddess was resting. They were afraid of being punished by the moon goddess, and she did not punish them.

A few minutes ago, I had thanked the moon goddess for making Carl, my mate. Now, I suspected that she sneezed and arranged a wrong mate for me.

"Damn it! I doubted if the moon goddess liked you so much, and she wanted you to serve her early, so she arranged this garbage to be your mate." Rose was still scolding Carl in my head. However, I could hear her voice fading.

I lay on the grass and listened to the clashing of their bodies and their groans that almost made me sick. I tried to cover my ears with my hands, but I found that my wrists had been completely corroded away because of the two magic silver arrowheads.

It was kind of horrible to see my both hands separating from my arms and lying alone on the left and right sides of my head.

Unfortunately, despite the newly shifted werewolves having stronger healing powers, they could not heal the deadly damage inflicted by magic silver weapons. My healing powers took precedence over my wrists to keep my essential heart and brain alive. But now, I felt like my heart was still being consumed by the magic power of the dagger.

Because of the pain, Rose moaned in my head again, and there was nothing I could do. I felt guilty for her.

"Do you regret it? Steph?" Rose asked.

"Yes, I regretted treating Freya as my best friend and falling in love with Carl. But we're dying, and it's useless to regret now. I'm sorry, Rose, we just met ten minutes ago, no, maybe fifteen minutes ago. Now, you are going to die with me. I even didn't let you run in the world. I'm so sorry." Rose's spirit was in my brain. She hadn't experienced anything, and she was going to die with me.

"Oh no, Steph, the two scums should apologize and repent. I can sense that David is outraged and sad." Rose mentioned Carl's wolf. But I had no energy to care about his wolf.

"Whatever! When will we be free? It's a terrible feeling to be destroyed while recovering." I could feel my healing powers were quickly repairing my rotting heart, but not as quickly as my tissues and other organs were eroding due to the enchanted silver weapons

"Perhaps after two or three minutes? Oh shit, before I die, I really want to try that roast chicken David just mentioned."

"Excuse me? Rose, in the last few minutes before we die, you want to eat roast chicken?" Rose had her special ability to talk with my mate's wolf. But I didn't expect her death wish was eating roast chicken.

"David said in the deepest part of the Demon Forest, there was a bar where Witch Lassie cooks the best roast chicken in the world."

Why was there a bar deep in the forest of Carl's pack? And Witch Lassie? Real witch? I never heard it from Carl, and he never took me there. All I knew was witches and wizards once existed in the world. But they hadn't been found for hundreds of years. No one knew where they lived. Could it be Witch Lassie enchant the magic on the weapons that hurt me?

"Witch Lassie?" I couldn't help saying the word I was thinking of.

"Oh, babe, you are the best!

My "Witch Lassie" appeared a little strange after Carl's praise.

Wait, they're done?

"I thought we were talking about my last wish an hour ago." Rose threw out sarcasm.

"Why hasn't she dead yet?" Freya sat up on the grass with an unsatisfied look on her face. She seemed angry, probably not because I wasn't dead.

Carl put on his trousers. His face was red after the sex, but his eyes were cold, "She's the daughter of Alpha. Maybe she's better than the average werewolves."

"Of course, you three-minute bastard! Steph, you should be glad he rejected you." Rose shouted in my head. She was right. I should have been happy about his rejection. But so far, my pain and sadness were much more than the useless joy.

Freya walked over to me and squatted down, the ends of her blonde hair hanging down next to my cheek. She gave a smirk. "Stephanie, you know Witch Lassie? You surprised me. You must know she is a wonderful witch with mystery magic power. Unfortunately, she won't help us enchant the silver dagger and arrows to kill wolves. That weirdo is too stubborn and stupid, just like Patrick."

I was never interested in magical gens. But Freya mentioned Patrick. My eyes opened wide as I recalled my poor twin brother Patrick had fallen off a cliff and died a year earlier, the day before our 17th birthday. He would have been with me today and found his mate.

"Don't look at me with that innocent and sad look. I've been miserable with you for several days since I pushed him off the cliff." Freya was smiling, but I thought her lovely baby face was full of malice.

"Why?" She pushed Patrick off the cliff? I couldn't believe it. Why didn't Patrick notice? What the hell did they do?

"Because he heard what Carl and I were planning."

Her dark green eyes were fierce, and her hand twisted 90 degrees around the wooden handle of the dagger on my heart.

I spit out a big mouthful of blood, and the rate of life loss was accelerating. But the pain was nothing compared to the grief and anger I felt when I knew my Patrick had died of murder.

"He was really naive, just like you. He could have left quietly, and instead, he came out and said, why did we hurt you? It's funny. What a stupid wolf! "

"Shut up!" I shouted without too much strength, desperately hoping I could stand up and tear this monster apart.

She continued, "I begged him to forgive us. We were forced to kill you. He believed. Then you guess what? I kicked him out of the cliff."

"You monsters. Freya, Carl, I would definitely tear you! Kill you!" I shouted as loudly as I could. But, suddenly, I lost all my power. Time out.

"Sorry, Steph, I gotta go." I heard Rose's saying.

Tears began to run down the corners of my eyes. I did not realize that my trust in my best friend and expectation of my future mate would lead to my destruction directly.

I thought of my dad, and my tears flowed more. He used to be a little cold to Carl. Maybe he found Carl was not as good as he looked. But I never asked him why and didn't try to figure it out. Because I listened to Carl's provocations that my father was acting so cold because Patrick was dead and I was a girl who couldn't be our pack's Alpha.

I believed Carl's saying without asking my dad's real thoughts and even avoided meeting him for the past year. How stupid I was.

And my mom, I hadn't seen my mom since she gave birth to Patrick and me. She left the pack suddenly. She told my dad she would come back before Patrick and I shifted. But she didn't. We had waited for our mom for 18 years.

Would she come back after I died? If she wouldn't, my dad would literally live alone. Would he be killed by Carl and Freya?

I felt hopeless since I didn't have any strength to move to remind my dad. After thinking about this, my mind began to grow weak. I was dying.

I didn't know if my soul would meet Patrick and serve the moon goddess with him. Or I would be a ghost wandering in the world. If I had the honor to serve the moon goddess, I would definitely denounce the two jerks. If I hadn't, I would take my revenge on them, even I became a ghost.

"Bye, Steph!" Rose left her last words to me and then disappeared into my mind.

"Bye, Rose!" I closed my eyes.

Before my soul left that broken body, I seemed to hear the wolf howling. Who was it? I was pretty sure that howl wasn't from my dad.

"You stupid wolf. Hurry up. Save her!" Who's talking? Could I get saved? My heart had corroded away, and Rose died before me unless the moon goddess came and returned the time to save us.

I swallowed the blood with the unknown flower flavor in my mouth. At least, I could not die without eating anything.

"You are gonna be fine, my silly m..."

Who's talking? I only saw someone's lip was moving before I lost my vision. I didn't hear the complete sentence. So, the last word I heard in this world was 'silly'?

Well, he was right. I was silly, though I didn't like what he said.
