Chapter 8 - The Punishment

She pressed her lips tightly together and she could feel her heart wanting to jump out of her chest as she slowly faced the vampire and bent down onto her knees.

It's okay, Daphne comforted herself. It was just kneeling. It wasn't like she hadn't kneeled before! It wasn't that big of a deal. She kneeled on the floor when she ate lunch in high school and when playing games. However, the meaning of those past memories were all different from the reason for why she was kneeling now.

She was kneeling in front of a vampire. . . Nothing humiliating about that. People would have peed their pants in front of a vampire! She had acted too rashly and now she was receiving her punishment and a warning to herself to think before acting in the future.

Daphne felt a little better thinking this way as she lifted her head up to look at the vampire, who was looking straight back at her. He tilted his head slightly when their eyes met and Daphne looked down again right away.

"Okay, Master Ramon," Ada said with a smile, feeling much better now, "The Brothel is so sorry for not training the girl well. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay here."

Then, she left the room, and once Lady Ada had gone, the other girls in the room began flocking around the vampire like birds again, "Master Ramon!"

"Eat grapes," the high-pitched voices that made Daphne want to throw up said.

"Here! Try this, hahaha!"

"Master Ramon, should I sing for you?"

"I can dance! Master Ramon, let me dance for you."

However, Ramon ignored all of them and instead kept his attention on the lowly servant kneeling down in front of him right now. He leaned forward interestedly, resting his head onto his hand as his elbow was placed on his knee, "I told you, little kitten, not to stretch your claws at me."

Daphne did not look or respond to him, pretending as if she had not heard anything. The vampire's expression stiffened slightly at Daphne's lack of reaction, but he did not give up and continued to humiliate her.

"Are you getting tired? Why don't you eat a grape?" The vampire mocked, holding a grape up in his thin fingers as he twisted it around, throwing it up in the air and then catching it with his sharp teeth, biting it in half as he swallowed it deliciously.

Daphne continued to ignore him, struggling to keep her cool. After a while, the vampire seemed to also get bored of mocking her and getting no reaction, so he stopped and actually started to pay attention to the other girls, who were all very excited.

He watched them dance, sing, listen to their compliments, and all other things Daphne found so boring she wanted to fall asleep. Her knees were getting numb and the feeling in her legs slowly began to disappear as she tried to maintain her balance, kneeling upright.

Luckily, the floor was carpet so it wasn't extremely hard, but kneeling for several hours was still something she had never experienced before.

Finally, after several hours that seemed like an eternity had gone by, the vampire got tired of sitting there watching the girls repeat the same shows over and over again, and although the girls wanted longer time to catch the attention of the vampire, they were also running out of tactics.

Ramon jumped up from the chair, glancing at Daphne who was still kneeling. He slowly walked over to her, looking down at her from several feet above. She continued to look straight ahead, which was coincidentally his upper legs at this moment.

He wore long black pants and after a few seconds, he scoffed and walked around her and out of the room. The other girls all followed behind him closely, all chirping, "Goodbye, Master Ramon! Come back again! Remember me!"

The sound of the girls slowly disappeared but Daphne continued to kneel, feeling that it would be worse if she tried to get up. After a while, there was the sound of footsteps as Lady Ada appeared and looked down at her, "Get up now."

Daphne fell down onto her side as she began to feel her legs again, but it was not a good feeling. The pain and aching felt a hundred times worse than the numbness she had just felt, and she wished she hadn't moved.

Ada left the room after telling her to get up and Daphne slowly pushed herself off the ground, limping as she slowly walked out of the room, supporting herself with one hand against the wall.

"This disgusting place," she cursed underneath her breath, cursing at both Lady Ada, Ramon, and all the people here.

She slowly made her way down the stairs, pausing every once in a while as her legs slowly found themselves again. When she finally reached the bottom, she was met with Ada and the nine other girls who had come with her, all of them looking at her with judgemental and hateful eyes.

Daphne did not know why, but they seemed to despise her even more now. Perhaps the other girls had said something about what she had done with the vampire which caused this communal reaction.

Lady Ada scrunched her face up at the sight of her, "Come."

She began walking up the stairs and the other girls followed, all rolling their eyes at her as they walked past as they walked up one by one. Daphne followed behind, trying hard to keep up her pace as they went to the second floor, went all the way down to the back of the building and stopped in front of a small door.

When they entered and Lady Ada clicked the lights open, which flickered for several seconds before finally lighting up dimly, they saw that it was a living area with ten small beds connected together and a bathroom to the right.

It was very shabby and ugly in comparison to the brightly decorated hall in the front, and after living in a high-end apartment for several years, Daphne could not stand the mere sight of this.

"You ten will live here until the next set of girls are sent here. Understand?"

Only until now did Daphne realize that it was nighttime already, which was why the hall outside was less noisy than it had been earlier today.

After scanning the girls one last time, Ada turned around and shut the door close. With a click, the door was locked.
