The carriage suddenly came to an abrupt stop once again, and Lucifer's hand tightened around Daphne's waist right away so she would not fall off his knee.
Daphne woke up.
She rubbed her eyes, pursing her lips out unhappily from being jerked away, not noticing for a while that her position had changed. She looked around, forgetting for a moment where she was, and when her head turned left, she quickly pulled back as the tip of her nose brushed past Lucifer's cheek.
If it had been any other time, Lucifer would certainly joke and flirt around with her, but it had been the second time today. And although the last time the carriage had abruptly stopped, it brought Daphne into his arms, this time, it woke her up.
He clenched his fists together, narrowing his eyes as he started to think about what method he would use to kill the coachman.
