The rest of the food was brought up for the rest of the family and after everyone had begun eating, a soft voice came from the corner of the room, "Brother, where is the girl?"
Lucifer's eyes looked up at his other younger sister, the oldest daughter of Zagon Black, Calanthe. He was not as harsh to her, answering, "She is not eating lunch."
Calanthe nodded, not asking any further as she looked down at her plate, sticking her fork into the food but not eating anything.
After lunch, Lucifer finished first and stood up, turning to his father, "The next Sevil meeting is happening soon. I will go get the invitations prepared."
Zagon Black nodded as Lucifer left the dining room, turning the corner as he went to his office. Inside, there was a small stack of invitation cards already, and he sat down in the large chair, closing his eyes for a moment before starting to work.
---
The next to leave the dining room was Calanthe, who still had a large pile of food on her plate when she wiped her lips and stood up, "Father, may I be excused?"
Zagon looked at her and then her plate before nodding.
Calanthe Black turned around, pushing her chair in as she left the dining room. After she was a distance away from the dining room, she turned around and spoke to her maid that followed her, "Amy, go bring me a basket of bread."
The maid bowed and left.
Calanthe walked around the manor, stopping after a few steps as she looked around blankly, not sure of where she was going. After a minute, the maid came back holding a basket with warm plain bread inside.
Calanthe took it and began walking ahead, stopping in front of the next door. She unlocked it, knocking on it twice before pushing the door open.
Inside, Daphne was laying flat on the bed, her wet hair wrapped up in a white towel. She had found the golden hair dryer but could not find a way to turn it on, so she could only let her hair dry by itself.
When the door opened, she looked back, thinking it was Lucifer, only to see another unfamiliar face. It was another girl. . . Not Calanthe, but Daphne seemed to recognize. She was likely the other sister.
Once Calanthe stepped into the room, she gently closed the door behind her, walking over to Daphne, who sat up straight on the bed, eyeing her confusedly.
Calanthe had a straight expression that seemed quite distant as she placed the basket of bread onto the space next to Daphne, sitting down at a bench across from her.
"I didn't see you at lunch, so I brought some bread over," she explained, removing the white napkin over the bread so the smell wafted through the air.
Daphne looked at the bread, which looked incredibly appetizing to her who did not eat lunch. However, she could not be certain. What if this devil had poisoned it or something?!
After meeting Doyle and the other girl, Calindra, she did not exactly have great feelings towards the Black family.
Almost as if she could hear her thoughts, Calanthe smiled softly, whispering, "Don't worry. I did not poison it."
Daphne looked up in shock, trying to hide her embarrassment as she muttered, "I didn't. . ."
The girl seemed much more pleasant than the rest of her devilish family, so Daphne picked up one of the pieces, which was still warm in her fingers, and took a bite.
The soft and plain bread was delicious at the moment, and Daphne looked at the girl once again, "Thank you. . . I'm sorry, what is your name again?"
"Calanthe," she replied, not saying anything more.
As the time passed by, Daphne ate the bread, one slice after another, not sure of what to say. Calanthe was unusually quiet, completely different from her other sister.
Once Daphne had eaten three warm slices already, she was feeling a little sick of the plain taste, and she glanced at Calanthe, wondering why she was still here. Did she come here for another purpose besides bringing her food?
For some reason, Daphne felt that the way Calanthe was looking at her was a little weird, but she could not tell exactly why that was so. The girl's blue eyes were on her, but she did not speak, not feeling awkward about the silence either.
Daphne pressed her lips together, looking at the bread and then back at her. She opened her mouth to tell Calanthe that she had finished, but before she could, Calanthe finally spoke.
Her voice was soft and light as she asked, "Are you really a fairy?"
