Chapter 32 - Another Outfit

At once, his eyebrows drew tightly together, the anger and annoyance in his expression clearly evident as he spoke coldly, "You did this?"

This time, the guilty feeling appeared like a broken dam once again inside Daphne, and she had a reason to be guilty this time. However, she still had to keep her strong stance, "Yes, I did."

Without explaining, she replied with those three words, receiving a dangerous and confused look from Lucifer. He did not reply for a moment, like he was waiting for her to say more.

However, she merely said that, straightening her back as she flaunted the new outfit that she had designed herself. He had given her such an ugly outfit and didn't expect her to do something about it?

Lucifer then turned around, leaving her as he walked over to the wooden cabinet in the edge of the room, flipping through the drawers one by one, opening and shutting them with a loud bang.

Then, he finally stopped at one, pulling out another piece of cloth that looked much too familiar.

It was another hideous grey shirt, dress thing.

Daphne's eyes practically fell out as she watched him grab onto it, walking back to her. He stopped closer to her than before, leaning down as he grabbed onto her hand, placing the grey cloth onto her palm.

With a smile, he said softly, "Be good this time."

Then, he pulled away so she could see his face as he spoke with a grin that appeared very threatening, "I am certain you wouldn't want to pay for the punishment."

Daphne could hear her heart beating in her ears as her finger nails dug deep into the rough cloth, wanting to ask him why he was so determined to make her look and dress ugly, but the words unable to escape her lips. It was as if her tongue was protecting her by not letting her speak.

He let go of the outfit, patting it twice before turning around, his shiny black shoes clicking against the ground as he disappeared out of the door once again. With a click, the door was locked from the outside again as Daphne was left alone inside the room.

Where did he have to go now?

Daphne looked at the new piece of cloth that wasn't so new in her hands, not wanting to wear it. However, after what he had said. . . Suddenly, her newly designed outfit she was wearing right now seemed to be more itchy than before. Maybe it was a good decision to take it off, Daphne convinced herself!

She entered the restroom, taking it off and putting the new one back on. How many of these shirts did he own? Why did it look exactly the same as the last one he had given her?

She sighed, her shoulders sagging again as she folded the one she had removed neatly, setting it on the bed. Seconds passed. . . turning into minutes. . .

She sat on the bed, not knowing for how long she was going to be in here alone. Was this some sort of punishment or did he actually have things to do?

Daphne stood up, walking over to the balcony. The door was open as she stepped outside, feeling the coldness of the marble ground even though she was wearing slippers.

She leaned forward against the railing, wondering if this was a good escape route. Just one look down told her it wasn't. His room appeared to be on the second or third floor, and it was quite a jump down to the ground. Luckily, the ground beneath her was a large field of green grass.

To the left was the front entrance and a large mountain sat to the right. She wanted to escape and did not enjoy being with this devil, but where could she go?

He was dangerous and terrified her, but every creature here terrified her and she had no better place to stay. At least she had a reason to stay here. . .

She closed her eyes, feeling the cold wind against her skin. Suddenly, the wind speed increased, chilling her bones as the wind carried sharp particles that were like needles against her skin. After not taking care of her skin for several days, it was dry and sensitive, so she returned back into the room, closing the balcony door to warm up the room.

The devil seemed to really like cold temperatures, since the other parts of the manor were warmer but his room was unusually cold. Maybe she should go take a nap?

Just as the idea hit her and she was about to bury herself into the warm blanket, there was another click at the door. Daphne looked over right away, thinking that Lucifer was finally back. She would certainly ask him where he had been and whether he had purposefully left her here alone to punish her.

However, she did not have that opportunity as it wasn't him who had entered the room, but a girl. A very familiar girl. The girl that had despised and targeted her at the dining table during breakfast.

Daphne frowned.

What was she doing here?
