Fire attributed Dragons had very destructive flames, which is why they had innate control over their flames, allowing them to choose what can be destroyed and what gets to live.
But Scarlett Phoenixes had no innate control over their flames as it does not seek to destroy but nurture. This is why the ability of Fiery Eyes of their bloodline was developed. It allowed the Scarlett Phoenixes to have precise control of their flames with their eyes, they can imbue their wills into their flames to control them. But it is not only limited to their flames, as it evolved to control other flames, that is, as long as the flames are not overbearing like the flames of a dragon.
Which is the exact reason Rhys activated the ability. His will was imbued into the flames that engulfed his right hand, the sky turned red from the heat, as the ground was also engulfed in the flames that started to spread from his arm to the ground.
Fwoosh!
Rhys had made a mini-fire domain. His flames filled with his will spread outward and pushed his opponent back.
But his opponent would not allow it, as soon Ice spread in the surroundings. Rhys started to feel heavy as his eyes started to cry blood, he felt so much pressure from using such an ability he had not used on such a wide scale. Sure, he could use it on a smaller scale normally, but to make a domain of flames was above his abilities.
'Dammit.' Rhys's eyes became blurry with the blood that veiled them. But from within the flames around him. many different flaming weapons were made, armaments of pure flames.
Blood leaked from the corner of Rhys's lips before he bit his lips. His multicolored hair swayed in the hot breeze of air as he tried to keep the domain at bay from being suppressed.
The dozens of different armaments rose from the ground and floated above the ground, all pointing towards his opponent, but her ice was spreading even more than him as ice shards were made.
"Go!"
Rhys let out a scream that sounded like a roar when he released his many armaments to counter the ice shards.
'Options!' Rhys's mind moved in many ways as he chose to think of an option to win this fight, he felt that it was too much for such a trial, even if it rose to match his level, it was still too much.
Shnng!
Light shone brightly from his body and started to transform into light rays, it was simply condensed rays of raw light energy. No technique was used. It launched towards his opponent, who simply dodged the light rays before an explosion ensued.
Fire and Ice clashed, making mist fill the area the explosion happen. Rhys knew it was useless to try and match her level when he was weaker than her. So his eyes instead focused intently on his opponent.
A red glow appeared in his eyes as mini flames seemed to burn in his eyes, suddenly, the flames all around him, the flaming sword, and flames on his arms vanished.
But...
Brrm!
Fire erupted on Rhys opponent's body, he had used his full will to make his flames burn his opponent, although it might not do much due to her ice energy in her body.
His eyes started to sting as Rhys felt like closing them but he remained strong. Burn, Burn, Burn.
Rhys sent his will into the flames that burn on his opponent's body, trying to eliminate her with flames.
Rhys's body was engulfed by flames before he appeared a few meters ahead and he kept on doing that. In a few moves, Rhys stood before her, although she noticed Rhys moving closer, she did not act as he could not physically hurt her.
Her focus was also taken trying to extinguish flames that had the will to simply destroy, normal flames would naturally burn and destroy, but Rhys's will imbued flames were more chaotic.
Rhys simply wanted to touch her and sent all his aether into her body, he was sure it would at least cause her to experience a backlash from her energy flow being disturbed.
Suddenly, the Divine Eternal Moon Goddess's clone felt danger before she turned to see Rhys's right hand touching her stomach, but before she could move away, she felt her body was breaking apart.
From within Rhys's dantian, the purple wisps of aether traveled to his meridians and right arm, before it infiltrated into her body and cause havoc. It disrupted the energy flow in her body, causing mini backlashes, causing her to spit blood.
Rhys did not stop and simply used all the aether in his dantian until it depleted. Every single wisp moved freely in her body, even his flames that were still trying to burn her body turned purple as the aether made the flames even more destructive.
Rhys thought that would be enough, but alas, how wrong he was. If he has a trump card, why can't his enemy?
Indeed, immediately after the aether tried to go into her dantian and cause more damage, ice energy erupted. Except, it wasn't ice, but yin!
"Fucking shit!" Rhys cursed.
He was covered in flames and tried to move back, but the yin energy erupting from her body started to freeze the very air around him.
Yin is a combination of ice and darkness. Yang a combination of fire and light. Yin is an element all female bodies are attuned with, in other words, women have an innate affinity with ice, darkness, and yin. Ice and darkness are not rare elements within the world, there are whole sects of users of darkness and ice. But Yin is very rare, only women can use it, and only if they have a physique or special constitution, like a yin-attributed dantian, could they use yin.
Because it is a combination of two laws, Yin naturally was very strong. Yet it was hard to master, much less use since the intricacies needed to control a law that is made of two other laws area in another level.
This is why when Rhys saw she could use yin, his shock rose. Yin is a high-grade law, which means no Saints other than Celestial Saints could comprehend such a law, yet here she was, using it.
'Wasn't her skills supposed to match her cultivation!? How can she use Yin Laws!? Fuck!' Rhys felt like cursing out loud, unlike Rhys, who used light-based attacks and not light laws to attack. The woman in front of him was using the law of yin as a form of attack, otherwise, there is no form to explain how her yin energy could be so strong, enough to freeze the air around him. Just like when Rhys used his fire law, the air felt hot and dry.
'Unless her yin attacks are as strong as when one uses Yin laws? But that would be too broken! Can it be from her Eternal Moon Spirit Bloodline that she can use Yin laws as a Heavenly Saint!?' Rhys's brain activity increased as he tried to make sense of the situation.
Rhys's red eyes saw the space around him freeze as a dome of pure yin was made. While the illusion of Divine Eternal Moon Goddess walked closer to him, his flames had been extinguished. Her wounds were healing.
Rhys's pupils dilated as he realized there was no other way, he could force her not to move for some time with Spirit Eyes, but with her high cultivation, Rhys doubted it would even work. If it did, it would most likely sap all of his energy, which would just go on to weaken him. Life Vision was useless in this situation. Draconic Eyes would be of no help just as before. Fiery Eyes were of no use as well.
'Hah...' Rhys sighed, he would most likely die if he fails, so he tried to use the new ability he had gained from the Eternal Paragon Void Body, Void Travel.
As its name states, Rhys could use the runic tattoos in his body to force the space to open a way for him into the void. The thing is, Rhys did not know if he would survive, and if he did, for how long.
After all, his body was used to the chaotic energy known as aether, but compared to the pure energy of the void, he might die. There is also another problem, the formations in the inheritance grounds might lock space to prevent him from using the ability.
Rhys felt this trial was too much, he hated the creator with all of his heart, 'Why the hell is it so hard?! Goddamit! No matter how much I train, there would still be no difference, she is too strong for the current me! My cheat skills allow me to survive thus far, but I am running out of options!'
Rhys saw Divine Eternal Moon Goddess's illusion walking closer towards him, her yin laws making a type of dome around her body to protect her, but Rhys could see she was expending a huge amount of energy.
'Void Travel it is!' Rhys just went for the ultimate technique of the artificial physique he had obtained.
Rhys had to wait until she was close enough to make sure she was in the range of effect.
Time seemed to tick down slowly as Rhys waited patiently, ignoring the chilly pain from his body freezing slowly due to her yin energy. His body was growing cold, his soul flame tried to keep the soul stable while Flame Regeneration worked overtime to keep the chilly energy from entering his body, it tried to keep it in the skin and muscles, but not anymore than that.
Every breath Rhys let out was visible due to how cold the place was, every breath he took in made him feel cold. Yet Rhys held on for longer, just a little longer.
His energy reserves were falling as the flames within his body were running out of power. His dragon, phoenix, and light spirit bloodlines were boiling as they traveled quickly throughout his body to make warmth.
Rhys's eyelid grew heavy as he felt sleepy, but he knew if he closed his eyes that meant either death or defeat. Either of which he did not want, he needed to live and pass.
Rhys also realized Ina did not give him any tips, but he did not blame her, after all, she wasn't omnipotent. She would only give tips when she could, but even Ina had no idea how to assist Rhys unless he used one of the treasures within the Jade ring, yet he couldn't. Or so he thought.
Rhys bit his lips, trying to keep himself awake via pain. But the blood froze the moment it left his body. That was how cold the surroundings were, darkness and ice were both energies categorized as 'cold.' Combined together they made things even colder, Rhys's eyes were very heavy as his eyelids covered half his eye, he was falling asleep.
Once she was close enough, Rhys smiled, the ice on his mouth cracking as it revealed a very crazed smile.
'Got you.' Rhys mouthed, he felt too tired to even speak.
It was at this moment that Divine Eternal Moon Goddess's illusion felt danger from her sense before the very reality she lived on cracked and twisted. The formations all around the inheritance trials burned crystals of higher grades to rebuild the space that was collapsing.
Waa!
A low hum could be heard within the area as a dark purple color filled the room, the runic tattoos on Rhys's body were shining. Yet that was not the full use of them, Rhys had yet to discover the true power that they held.
The formations worked full time to mend space back together, yet it was destroyed faster than it could be rebuilt.
Crackle!
Space warped as both Rhys and the illusion vanished from the area.
