Chapter 10 - Helping

Roar!

A tiger roared as Rhys wounded him with his glaive. Rhys had decided to go out and train by hunting beasts. His long messy blond hair swayed in the wind as Rhys dodged, moved, and jumped while fighting the wolf.

Kak!

The sound of Rhys's glaive hitting something hard sounded. Rhys's glaive had hit the tiger's spine, which was hard due to its cultivation, naturally because of Rhys's Mid-grade weapon the tiger's spine collapsed.

Thud!

The body of the tiger collapsed, lifeless. Rhys let out a breath of air as he relaxed, even then he did not put his guard down, just relaxed his body.

'A Vermillion Stripped Tiger equal to a Peak-Level True King cultivator was killed without much work... Is this the work of my improved cultivation?' Rhys pondered inwardly, his Eternal Paragon Void Body was still in Stage 1, but his increased bloodline purity increased his body and talent, which in turn increased his body's meridians and dantian.

"I have been out here for a week, I should go back to the manor." Rhys muttered as the glaive vanished into the Jade ring.

As Rhys calmed down he heard Ina's voice in his head.

"I feel fluctuations in the energy deeper in the forest, a battle is taking place."

"Right, and?" Rhys replied shortly.

"Try and help, I can sense they are strong, but they are weakened, the enemy they are against is not hard for you to get rid of." Ina told Rhys, in reality she wanted him to help them so that Rhys doesn't become too cold. She wanted him to become at least kind enough to help only if he can. She didn't want to make some hero, but at least someone with a good mind.

'Fine.' With those words Rhys took off deeper into the forest.

Fwsh!

Wind brushed against his face as he ran, his hair and clothes fluttering in the air.

——

Tang!

"Ah~" A woman with purple robes screamed as she was pushed back. She tried to use her sword to block the attack but was too weak to succeed.

"Stella!" The woman, Stella, heard a scream and looked back to see another woman who was being pushed back by a beast looking at her, her eyes open wide.

'Dammit... why now?!' Stella thought inside of her head as she retreated, the other woman doing the same as they got back to back. Looking at the two beasts in front of them.

"Mother..." Stella muttered as tears build up in her pretty eyes, she knew she would die. Her figure was full of wounds, as she was weak from blood loss. She was strong enough to easily kill the beast at her peak but now hurt it wasn't enough, her companion was also too hurt.

Profound Beasts are equal to True Realm cultivators, a level 4 grand beast can fight True Saint cultivator. Stella was very powerless, she sighed at her fate. She was wounded when fighting a strong beast deeper in the forest, after killing it they were exhausted, so they let their guard down and as they walked back the beasts ambushed them.

As the beasts approached she cursed her luck. Her escape artifacts had been used when she fought the beast that wounded her with her companion. They were out of options.

As she closed her eyes and accepted her fate she heard many thuds.

Opening she the body of the two beasts were dead, in the ground.

——

As Rhys reached the place where the undulations of energy came from he frowned.

'Ina, what is this?' Rhys asked Ina, he felt the woman was strong but she was about to die to something weaker than her.

"Her injuries weakened her, her energy reserves are low and she is poisoned." Ina replied to Rhys's question.

'I see, let me help them then.' With those words, Rhys took out a spear, pointed it at the weaker beast, and threw it. While he jumped towards the beast in front of Stella and impaled it with his glaive.

Thud!

Both bodies fell to Rhys's raw strength behind the attacks. They did not expect them either due to Rhys using a concealing technique he had learned a week back.

Rhys soon turned back to look at both women, his eyes focusing on their appearances.

The first woman had black hair and blue eyes, fair pale skin, and wore a blue robe that did little to hide her curvy figure. Although most of the robes were ripped and their delicate skin full of cuts were shown. Her assets made one look more than once. She was a 'cold beauty' type of woman.

The other woman looked just like the first, same eye and hair color, minus the robes she wore and her body type. Her figure had bigger buttocks than the former, that isn't to say her breasts were bad, the energy of the cosmos invigorated people slowly making them look better.

'Twins?' Rhys guessed as they looked almost the same. He guessed that was the case before he collected his glaive and the spear he threw at the Ice Poison Wolf.

"Who are you?!" The woman with a sword asked, she was tired and anxious, but even then she kept her composure. Yet her exhaustion was visible.

"Shouldn't you introduce yourself first?" Rhys replied normally as if he wasn't bothered.

"I am Stella!" Stella replied as she looked at Rhys.

"Rhys. That's my name." Stella nodded when she heard Rhys's words.

"What about the other lady?" He asked as he looked at the woman with a whip.

"My name is Crystal, we thank you for saving us." Crystal replied as she bowed, even with her injuries she was kind.

"No problem, I could help so I did." Rhys replied with a smile on his handsome face, momentarily catching Stella and Crystal off guard. Both girls got slightly flustered since they had no contact with men.

The two girls sat next to each other to rest as Rhys walked closer to them.

"Here." Rhys handed them two True Grade Healing Pills, he didn't make them but they were his, from the Jade ring. True grade pills were not as rare, but only a few could make them.

Stella looked at the pills and her eyes widened when she saw the rank of the pill as well as the type of pill.

"P-profound True Healing Pill!" Stella stuttered, these pills were very rare due to the ingredients needing to be very old, as well as full of vitality.

"Don't worry, eat them and heal. I'll make a camp." Rhys said with a smile, his smile making the surroundings shine a bit brighter in the eyes of the girls.

"Thank you." Stella grabbed the pills and took one before she gave one to Crystal, who took it as well. They were not worried about the pills being poisoned or defective, the life energy one could feel from the pill was enough to show its worth.

Profound True Healing Pills had very gentle energy, so they could be used by any cultivator. They did not have to focus to circulate the energy slowly and could let the energy run free in their bodies to do the work for them, of course they could circulate the energy to focus on a certain wound if one wished to.

Rhys immediately made a campfire with his soul flames. It was nighttime and not a very good idea to head back. So he planned to rest here and the girls did not seem no be against it either.

'I'm lucky to have killed those Ice Poison Wolves in one attack. Their poison would freeze my meridians and prevent me from using my energy.' Rhys thought as he took some food out and cooked it. He knew he could them because they had a weak defense in exchange for a fast speed and high agility.

——

Rhys sat on a rock as the girls sat in front of him, a fire separating them.

The sound of the fire cracking as it burned the wood was peaceful as Rhys looked at the night sky.

Crystal and Stella were now healed, they were getting better as the poison was eliminated using their cultivation.

"Savior Rhys, let me thank you once more, as the Princess of the Eternal Moon Empire, I, Stella Moonsky promise to repay you once we are back." Stella said as they stood up and bowed. Their injuries had begun to heal because of their high cultivation.

"Yes, I, Crystal Moonsky, Second Princess thank you."

'Princess of the Empire? I see... that explains their high cultivation, both of them are Mid-Level Mortal Saints.' Rhys thought as he nodded.

"You have some luck, no?" Ina laughed in his mind as Rhys snorted inwardly.

"No problem, like I said it wasn't much." Rhys replied as he smiled once more. Slowly but surely his personality became a bit warmer. He felt nice being thanked.

"Excuse us, we will go to sleep now. We are very tired." Crystal spoke as the sisters went to sleep in the same tent they took out of their spatial ring, while Rhys nodded and went towards his. Yet in reality, the two were on guard in case Rhys tried to do anything, for example, rape them.

'Ina, I have wondered, why don't they ask about the Jade ring?'

"To them, it looks like a normal spatial ring. Thanks to the cloaking formations." Ina replied shortly.

"I see." With those words, Rhys fell asleep as Ina watched the surroundings.

——

It was now early in the morning. Rhys woke up feeling energetic. Going out of the tent to see Stella and Crystal outside cooking meat.

"Morning." Stella spoke as Crystal smiled, Rhys smiled back. After being awake till late at night, they realized Rhys was not that type of person, as they saw he was sleeping soundly. Thus they treated him a bit better.

"Are you ready to go back?" Rhys asked as he wasn't feeling hungry.

"Once we eat, yes." Crystal replied as she took a bite of the freshly cooked meat.

In a few minutes, both ladies finished eating as they cleaned up, putting the tents away in the ring as they stretched. Their bodies twisting as they wished, their assets shook, making Rhys look away.

Rhys knew they were only a few hours away if they ran, so they wouldn't take too long.

"Let's go then." Rhys smiled kindly as he began to move towards the city.

The sisters followed Rhys behind him, they were slowly letting their guard down although they met him only a few hours ago. That was the power of saving maidens in danger.

——

It had been around 4 hours since Rhys and the girls left and they were now inside fo the city. The journey back wasn't too important, they fought some beasts which were weaker than the ones Rhys had fought yesterday but they disposed of them pretty quickly.

When they arrived in the city they attracted a lot of attention. Two Princesses and a handsome young man, one could only make some wild fantasies. Of course, the two Princesses simply smiled while Rhys showed no emotions.

"Well then, this marks the end of our meeting I guess." Rhys looked back at the sisters and spoke.

"Please come with us to the Palace." Stella spoke, she wanted to reward him for saving them. Crystal was surprised but stayed quiet.

"Would that be all right?" Rhys was a bit hesitant, after all the Palace had the Empress, he didn't feel at ease meeting such an important person. Especially when she was so strong.

"Yes, we must reward you properly, I also want to make sure our mother knows who our savior was." Crystal spoke this time.

Rhys pondered before he heard Ina in his head, "You should go, there are no downsides. The Princesses seem to like the way you act. Meeting the Empress isn't bad either, from what I have seen during our stay here I can see the people are happy and the Empress is loved by the masses."

"I guess I will accept." Rhys replied after hearing Ina's words.

The two Princesses immediately brightened as they took off towards the Palace.

"Let's go!" Stella spoke, her cold voice spoke, but it was just a tiny bit warmer than before, even then it wasn't much.

Rhys nodded and followed behind.

As they walked Rhys saw the Palace called 'Moon Palace' getting closer, its magnificence making Rhys feel like an ant.

It was made of the rare Moon Iron, which can only be formed when a normal metal is hit by a focused amount of Moonlight and filled with formations.

'Beautiful.' Rhys said inwardly, he felt the scale of the Palace with his senses. Although he felt a bit suppressed as well.

They soon reached the gates, the guards did not even stop them as the gates to the palace opened on their own.

Once the gates opened Rhys felt a chilly energy wash over him before vanishing.

'What was that?' Rhys asked filled with confusion.

"Something Saint Realm experts unlock called Soul Sense, since at that stage the soul matures enough to leave the body." Ina replied calming Rhys down.

Rhys gulped and let his aura spread, it was filled with the majesty of a dragon, albeit a weak one. Yet it was enough to allow him to keep his bearings.
