Chapter 61 - Chapter 54

"Right. What specifically do you want to know about it?" Shinobu asked.

"Well the agreement was that you'd tell us about what it can do, so that should be good enough." Kyoshi replied.

"But for starters, I guess the name will do." He added.

"I call it the Reverse Demon Serum. It's supposed to eliminate the corrupted parts of the human DNA strand and then we'll deliver another serum for healing." Shinobu answered.

"So it's actually working on a cellular level and how fast is the process?"

"It's not a finished product yet, so I don't know."

Obviously, this was a lie. To test this you'll need demons and with all of the things going on right now, if she admitted to using demons as test subjects, it'd be hypocritical.

"I see, as it stands now you can't tell if this is 100% going to work every time right?"

"Right, but I assume you want us to stop with the testing if you're calling for a temporary truce?"

"Well…not necessarily. I'm sure even if put out the message of a temporary truce, demons will still try to eat humans and I'm sure some demon slayers won't comply with the order given.

If there are any aggressive demons then kill them and use them for your experiments." Kyoshi said leisurely.

"I see."

Did this seem heartless? Yes. Was it? Indeed it was. Was it necessary? Of course. If there are demons that'd be so brazen as to willingly go against Muzan's order then at least they can die for a good cause.

While Kyoshi didn't want their paradise to be kept in line by tyrannical rule, he didn't want there to be problems just because people can't adjust to a new way of life.

He kept in mind that he should advise Muzan to not put an automatic curse on the demons that don't follow his law. They'd be left to the fate if the demon slayers and hashira.

"Then that should conclude the meeting right?" Kyoshi asked.

Shinobu nodded and with small smiles they shook hands.

"Let's meet her again in a week or so. Also, if you could help us locate our missing prodigies then I'd be very grateful." Shinobu said.

"I can do that. I been meaning to stretch my legs anyway."

"Then it was nice meeting you. I hope the future turns out nicely for both sides." Shinobu said as both sides departed.

"Uhh sensei, was I really needed there? It didn't feel like I was very useful." Rin asked as her and Kyoshi walked down the dirt path towards a nearby forest area.

"Actually yeah. At first, I wanted you there for back up, but it looked like having you there being so calm seemed to take down their guard a bit. That's probably why they didn't ask so many questions." Kyoshi replied.

"I see. So about Rengoku…did you kill him?"

"No, we actually came to an agreement. Why?"

"The hashira and demon slayers in general respect him a lot. I think if they found out you killed him the entire negotiating would have went up in flames."

"I see. So if he wanted to get on board with my plan would the other Hashira follow him?"

"Maybe. They respect him a lot, but they're still their own people."

"That's good." Kyoshi said as he hit a tree twice before him and Rin were teleported into the Infinite Castle.

"I decided believe in you guys and let Kyoshi off to meet you guys." Rengoku said to Shinobu and all the other hashira gathered along with Kagaya.

"I see; so you also trust in his words?" Kagaya asked Rengoku calmly.

Rengoku nodded with vigor even though he was covered in bandages and a messed up uniform. Everyone was more than surprised seeing that Kyoshi could do that to Rengoku, but then they glanced towards Tokito and Obanai.

He beat them so bad their DSM's were activated to keep them alive. They've been training with Gyomei to control it although there hasn't been much progress.

"What about his student? How'd they come off to you?" Kagaya asked.

"She was actually really calm and collected. It didn't seem like there was a control thing, but it looked like she was trying to be poise in a way." Shinobu explained.

"She reminded me of Kanao." She added.

"Interesting. Now; his sister. Did he ever mention anything of his sister? Any wonders considering he knew Seikichi survived?"

"No, in fact it seemed like that was the last thing on his mind although, I assume if he met Seikichi then he'd be more outraged."

"Hm. Shinobu, I'm not mad, but things like this need to be gone over with everyone so try not to go off and do something so big without full support of your peers." Kagaya said.

"This plan however…is impossible to accomplish. Demons and humans are natural enemies and one can't live without the death of the other. Coexistence isn't realistic in the slightest." Kagaya exclaimed.

"Kyoshi claimed to know a demon who doesn't rely on human meat for nutrition. Apparently she only drinks blood to stay alive." Shinobu countered.

"He says he'll try to find and get her on their side so she could tell them how it's done." She added.

"Shinobu, if Muzan knew about her which I'm sure he does, why do you think they aren't partnered? There must've been something in the past that pushed her to get away from him considering she's changed her whole biology to be less relatable to demons." Kagaya explained.

"But there can still be a way for this to work. We plan on having another meeting in a week or so, let's give him a deadline to get her on their side and if not I can tell him the DSC rejected his offer on the count of it being impossible." Shinobu said with determination.

It was clear to all present that she wanted to push this idea as far as she could. No more demons killing humans, no more need to constantly fight to survive, no more threats to peoples lives and most importantly…

She could live with those at the butterfly mansion as a real family and be an older sister like she wanted. Her career was slowly breaking her; chipping away at an old mask she's worn for years.

Other than rage for all demons she's finally getting a glimpse of hope through the cracks of her break facade as she, with all her heart, wanted to establish a way of peaceful life with demons.

Shortest chapter yet, but tbh I might have to go hiatus till summer. I have some things to sort out with my family along with EOC's.

Can't wait till school out.

Also, about the SDS FF, it's still in the works and for this ff there's two more arcs left.

Join discord if you haven't since I've given a pretty decent amount of clues on what'll happen and of the future of other ff and this one.
