"Here," Emily quickly pulled out a bottle filled with water and put it on his lips.
Xasha took small sips of water. It was painful going down his sore throat, but it relieved his coughs. His throat and lungs were full of dust from being underground for too long. "Where is Megan? Where's my wife?"
"Calm down. Megan's fine. She is in much better shape than you are. Great job protecting her." Emily said with a cheerful grin on her tear-soaked face. "She's still unconscious, but all her injuries have been treated. You were severely wounded, and you lost a lot of blood. Not only that, you have more broken bones than you do unbroken ones and more punctured organs than you do healthy ones."
Hearing that, Xasha gave a bloody grin, showing his missing teeth. "Guess that thing did a number on me." The words 'she's fine' were all he needed to hear. He felt his body relaxing and his consciousness fading.
