Xasha discovered that compressing individual parts made the avatar smaller, faster, stronger, and more flexible. Usually, one's avatar would simply be a giant, thick-skinned exoskeleton. Everyone knew that whatever size that avatar was, it was but a fraction of its true size. From that, they can deduce the strength of one's avatar. The bigger it was, the harder it was to deal with.
There were legends of true Aura Masters who had avatars (including membrane) as big as cities. Those people were all feared. If one met an aura master of such caliber, they would run even if they had the means to defeat them. Their auras will cause untold damage to the surroundings by appearing.
