Chapter 60 - Chapter 59

"Your back."

Ning Huo smiled, nodding his head. "I told you I would be. You need to believe me more." He smiled. Hsien Lian stared at him, just stared. He was back, in his ghostly flesh. Hsien Lian smiled brightly, ready to hug him, to kiss him, to do something. But Ning Huo pushed him slightly away. "We'll reconnect in a moment. But first, I need you to fight Chao Ju."

Hsien Lian glanced over, remembering everything that was happening not between him and Ning Huo. He twirled the dao in his hand, gripping it tightly. "So, when I step out of this circle, the world goes back to normal, '' Hsien Lian asked. Ning Huo nodded. Golden fires inches away. Hsien Lian looked around. The blazes went from one side of the other. Nowhere to go but up or down.

So, Hsien Lian decided to go up.

Hsien Lian through is dao into the air, crouching down before jumping onto the thin, floating sword. He balanced hesitantly, making sure he didn't fall, before leaning forward, enough to stand out the circle. Everything seemed a lot quicker now that it was moving.

The wave of blazing flames rushed forward into Hsien Lian's spot, Ning Huo disappearing before he could be hit. Chao Ju laughed cynically. "So, Hsien Lian. Your lover is back. Hope he doesn't make you distracted." Chao Ju smiled, his hands still glowing well. Hsien Lian lowered his dao, hopping off of it and onto the tiled floor. Hsien Lian sighed, looking up at Chao Ju. No fear in his eyes. "Chao Ju, what was your reasoning in doing this? You're mad because your plan has been ruined? Has it been unveiled?"

"Chao Ju, if I didn't find out, then someone else would." Hsien Liang Pointed out, smiling. Chao Ju's eyes were fiery red with anger, but Hsien Lian only smiled back at the man. Chao Ju took a step forward, holding his golden dao. "Hsien Lian," Hsien Lian hummed, twirling around his dao to point it at the floor.

"I'm learning something about you." Chao Ju whispers. It seemed they were inches apart, inches from staining each other. But neither of them did anything. "What did you learn?" Hsien Lian asked. They talked like normal people, but there was bitterness in each of their voices. Harshness, a sign of murderous intent.

"You always run from your problems. Run from being a god, run from him. You ran for two thousand years. Begged Tao Wu to punish you-" When Chao Ju took a step forward, Hsie Lian hauntingly took a step back. "I forgot!" Lian defended himself. Chao Ju clicked his tongue. "WHose fault was that, though? You were going to go, free. Yet you had to be punished, had to forget. That's how you ran away, you simply forgot."

Hsien Lian stayed silent, staring at Chao Ju quietly. Chao Ju laughed, shaking his head. "Hsien Lian, when Tao Wu said he wanted you to be a Melee God to start off, I couldn't believe it. He was going to let the Prince of the Han Dynasty, to become a Melee God? But, I believed him. I believed what he said.

"Sadly, he was wrong. You're too soft, too sweet, too kind for this world. You wouldn't have survived even with your little love-" Hsine Lian, mostly out of anger, lifting his blade, throwing it into the air. The sharp end sliced right into Chao Ju's stomach. It was now Hsien Lian's turn to laugh. He walked up to Chao Ju, who was frozen. His eyes widened as his hands went to his stomach. "M-my a-aura.." Chao Ju whispered, breathlessly and in pain.

Hsien Lian grabbed the dao's handle, twisting his hand. Chao Ju screamed out loudly in pain, his voice echoing around the walls. Hsien Lian didn't stop however, his hand glowing blue. Hsien Lian pulled the sword out, his arms swinging back from the force. As he stumbled back, Chao Ju buckled forwards. His white robe bloodied and stained from dust.As Hsien Lian stood back, a blade swung around, slicing at Chao Ju's neck. Hsien Lian gasped as the dao slid back. The person behind him let his arm swing out. Chao Ju coughed up blood. He wouldn't die. He might be hurt and need a little healing, but he would be fine.

Chao Ju fell to his knees, allowing the person behind him to be seen. From his long blond hair, to his gold and white colored hanfu. He sighed, looking back up at Hsien Lian. His eyes went to Fang Hai and Chen Guo, who were slowly looking up, before going to Ning Huo. He didn't say anything, only lowering his hand. A golden rope wrapped around Chao Ju. The god strugged harshly, but huffed out a sigh when he understood that he couldn't get out.

"Tao Wu." He bowed, but Tao Wu shook his head. "Don't. No need to bow to me." The King Of Gods turned back to Chao Ju with a bitter face. "I should have known sooner." He sighed. Hsien Lian slowly nodded, placing his hands on the opposite wrist, feeling the bandages. Fang hai coughs, slowly standing. Hsien Lian turned around, running over to the three. Ning Huo had Chen Guo in his arms, Fang Hai leaning on him slightly.

"Are you ok?" Hsien Lian asked, tilting Fang Hai's face to look for any cuts, any bruises, anything. Fang Hai lightly shook his head. "I will be. How's Chen Guo?" Fang Hai asked, looking at Chen Guo, who was still knocked out. Tao Wu stepped in front of him, placing a hand over Chen Guo's head. He looked younger than how he normally did, weaker. It made Tao Wu feel terrible. "He'll be fine. Both of you will be." Ning Huo answered, looking at Fang Hai. Tao Wu frowned. "How do you know?"He asked, stepping back slightly.

Hsien Lian smiled. "He can feel God's auras. We're all hiding ours, but they are both too weak. The fact that he can feel an aura means that they aren't harmed." Hsien Lian answered. Ning Huo nodded.
