Chapter 49 - Chapter 48

Hsien Lian quietly stared at the paper for a moment, before stepping away. "Favorite script, like calligraphy?" Hsien Lian asked himself as Chang Bo walked up to them. He looked down at the paper with a sigh. "Well, I guess she knows she will most likely die. Good to know." Chang Bo stated. XingYing only hummed, looking down at the paper. "Are you sure the script means writing style?" Chun He asked, skipping towards them, his hanfu flaring out as he did so. Hsien Lian frowned, but didn't say anything.

The god carried a book in his hand, a flower on the cover. "Look what I found." Chun He smiled, handing the book to Hsien Lian. It was an art book. A book filled with different painters' art. Most likely all having a similar theme. Hsien Lian would believe the theme was flowers. "Pretty, right? I was scanning through it, and I found a whole bunch of different art styles." Chun He's conversation topic was very much off the original and more serious one, but out of the three gods and one ghost, none of them said a word. "Hm, do you not like it? I thought you would since you are the flower god." Chun He said with a sigh, taking the book back. He held it in his hand as he began walking back to the art section, his happy skip turning into a walk.

Hsien Lian watched him go for a moment, before looking back at XingYing. "Anyways, she wrote a tanaka this time instead of a haiku? Why? She had always written in haikus…" Hsien Lian stated, as Chang Bo looked over at the note. "Maybe she had more to say.." Chang Bo pointed out as the doors to the library swung open. In walks four guards, with daos in their hands. Though they were not threatening the uninvited guests. Actually, they held the metal part of the dao in their hand in a bow formation. Even Chun He stopped his casual search, looking over at the guards.

The four stepped aside, revealing Lui Che himself, in all white clothing. The Emperor Of The Han Dynasty. He has held himself well, even after Hsien Lian had left to go to Heaven. His hanfu was grand, but not as grand as Hsien Lian's, Chun He, nor Chang Bo's. Even the Ghost King's hanfu seemed majestic compared to Lui Che's. The man stood straight, the guards looking straight ahead instead of in the being's eyes.

"Lui Che, Emperor Of The Han Dynasty." THe man said stiffly, the words rolling off his tongue with ease. Hsien Lian thought it was weird that Lui Che was bowing to him. It was usually the other way around, and Hsien Lian didn't mind that fact. But now that Lui Che was bowing to him, it was weird. Hsein Lian didn't know how he should feel about. All four of them stared at the emperor, before XingYing nudged him forward. "You're kinda our leader. Go." XingYing whispered, causing Hsien Lian to look at him with a strange expression. Though the ghost's was inspirational, giving Hsein Lian a smile.

Hsien Lian's footsteps were light as feathers as the god made his way to the front of the library, standing ahead of Lui Che. Hsien Lian took out the dao with the scabbard still attached, the blue and white engraved metal beautifully painted on, creating curving flowers of different breeds. Hsien Lian lifted his dao easily, allowing the metal object to lay in his palm as he bowed carefully, something Lui Che had taught him how to do long ago.

"Hsien Lian, God Of The Flowers."

The two held their position for a moment longer before standing up straight. "If I may, what might the gods be doing in such a library?" Lui Che asked kindly. Hsien Lian looked around, his darkened hair flowing at the subtle movement. He turned to look back at Lui Che, smiling. "We are hunting a ghost that has hid an item here. We will not take much time." Hsien Lian explained. Lui Che hummed, before nodding to the guards. "Well, may we help? I feel as my guard's familiarity with the library will aid you." Hsien Lian looked at XingYing, who seemed to get the idea of what Hsien Lian wanted him to do.

XingYing walked up to the emperor, handing him the note. "This was the last thing she gave us." XingYing explained, stepping to Hsien Lian's side. "Do you think he'll be of any help? This is a godly affair, he should not be apart of the search." XingYing whispered into Hsien Lian's ear calmly. Hsien Lian took a moment before answering. "We will be weary, don't worry." Hsien Lian said with a smile as Lui Che looked back up at them.

"Do you think her favorite script might be the tanaka poem style, as she used it in the letter?" What animal would it be, I do not know." Lui Che explains, handing Hsien Lian the paper, bowing as he did so. Chun He walked to the other side of Hsien Lian, smiling at Lui Che. "I believe it is haiku poems, as she writes in haikus more in that style than the tanaka style." Chun He stated calmly, Lui Che quickly bowing. "Chun He, it is very nice to meet you. Thank you for allowing the Swallowtail Butterflies to migrate back to China after so many years." Lui Che said quickly, an inspired look on his face. "The children loved them." Chun He couldn't help but smiled, standing up straight and lightly tilting his head forward in a bow. "Of course, they are very rare. So I am happy to allow more back into this beautiful land." Chun He smiled with his words, before handing Hsien Lian a book.

"A haiku book on butterflies. She drew a butterfly on the wall in the cave." Chun He explained, letting him look at the book. Hsien Lian stared at the art on the front page, before opening it to a random section, instantly going to a very specific page. Hsien Lian read the title.

The Moth And The Butterfly 4

One is beautiful,

While the other's foul.

Which one is my favorite,

No one gets to scold.
