Chapter 35 - Chapter 34

Hisen Lian sighed, shaking his head. Tao Wu and Jing Mei stood before the three Melee Gods: Chen Guo, Hdien Lian, and Fang Hai. Tao Wu sighed. "Ok, you two need to watch him, and report back to me everyday. And you," He pointed to Hsien Lien. "Be careful." Tao Wu said, as if the young god had already done something wrong.

Hsien Lian nodded, smiling. "I was taught by the best Taoist noble known to China." Hsien Lian smiled, Chen Guo nodding his head. He was the noble who had taught Hsie Lian. Tao Wu still seemed very hesitant after five years, but he sighed. He reached behind himself, revealing a white and blue dao, both beautiful and glimmering. He handed it to Hsien Lian. "This is yours, use it as you like."

Hsien Lian nodded, sliding the dao into his scabbard. It felt like the dao was made for him, the handle fitting his hand perfectly.

Hsien Lian had seen illustrations, painting of a portal, but never something like this. The orange glimmer of the edge illuminated with flames, as the inner was murky. Fang Hai grabbed ahold of Hsien Lian's hand, as Chen Guo bowed once more to Tao Wu and Jing Mei, before stepping into the murky portal. "Where does this lead us?" Hsien Lian asked. He wasn't scared, nor was he hesitant. Instead, like with most of the world, he was simply curious.

"To where the ghost was last seen. Hubei." Fang Hai answered, before stepping into the portal. It felt instant, as if they were just normally walking. Hsien Lian didn't fall from the sky. Instead, he just took a single step, and there he was. In Hubei. Chen Guo shut the portal behind Hsien Lian, before sighing.

Chen Guo looked very different, as well as Fang Hai. "Are you gonna disguise yourself?" Fang Hi asked. Hsien Lian clicked his tongue, quickly doing as he was told. He disguised himself as a young boy. With puffy cheeks and a slim nose, red lips and a red tilt to his pale skin. His hair was a light brown, halfway into a loose ponytail. Strands falling onto his face. His face was mostly covered by a veil, thin and tinted a light blue color, matching his hanfu.

His dao hung at his hip securely, ready to be pulled out at any certain time.

"Buo and Fu Hai. That's our name. What's yours?" Fu Hai asked, crossing his arm. Hsien Lian couldn't think of one, his creativity slightly lacking as he thought for a moment. "Uh… I'll think of one when we meet him" Hsien Lian answered. Buo quickly shook his head. "No, we aren't meeting him. You are." Buo laughed.

Hsien Lian stared at them two. "Wait, what? So why are you guys even here?" Hsien Lian asked sarcastically. They wouldn't be helpful. At least, that's what Hsien Lian thought. "We're simply here to watch you and make sure that you don't do anything stubid." Fu Hai answered, shrugging.

Hsien Lian sighed, rolling his eyes. He really shouldn't be that bothered. "So I'm going to talk up to him?" Hsien Lian asked. He didn't mind it, he would rather be alone than with two other people. It would be easier that way. Buo hummed. "Yeah, we'll just make sure that nothing bad happens.

A loud yell came from behind the three men, a horrified scream. A commotion started different people running. "A GHOST! IT'S A GHOST!"  An old woman yelled, running away. THe hundreds of people standing at the market all scrambled in different directions. "KILL THE GHOST!" An older man yelled.

Hsien Lian looked back at Fu Hai and Buo, before he began running towards the middle of the crowd. He pushed past the scared groups of people, different screams and yells as he passed. Soon, he saw what everyone was running from.

It was a young man, smog all around his feet. He snickered quietly as he watched the people in the village run away. He seemed mysterious, his deep black hair something Hsien Lian had never seen before. It covered most of his face, a great division between his pale white skin. His red lips and dark crimson eyes scanned the area, before looking directly at Hsien Lian. His smirk dripped blood, his sharp facial features cutting through skin.

He stood there as he looked down on the humans. His glare was threatening, his stance was filled with power. He didn't seem evil, though his soul was dark. He wasn't dangerous, yet power slid through the ground he stepped on. He was there, right in front of Hsien Lian, yet he seemed so hidden, so mysterious. The young man placed his hand down, before sweeping dust and rocks up from the dirt path. Without touching a single particle, the brown dust floated in the air for a moment, before he pushed his hand towards the small group of men, ready to attack him. The dust in the air flew at them at a great speed, the men having no time to react as the dust and rocks hit them in the eyes, blinding the men

The young man looked back at him, smirked, before disappearing.

But Hsien Lian knew exactly where the man was going.
