Chapter 56 - Stage II, Chapter XXX: Breaching The Cockpit

On the way to the cockpit, Ciel had bumped into Lucas and Sabik. Glad that he did not have to go by himself, Ciel handed his Karman friend the spare laser rifle that the other Karman was using.

Ciel had insisted that Lucas use it, but was promptly refused. Even he himself decided not to give it, seeing as Lucas had absolutely no clue on how to shoot the rifle.

Sabik still had his electrifying glaive, but he still took the rifle just in case.

"We've got another group approaching us quickly. Brother Lucas, do you mind staying back for this one? I do not want this ship to be battered up more than it already is." (Sabik)

"Wait, those quakes were his doing?" Ciel asked, surprised.

"Yeah, and he almost destroyed this ship because of it. I hope Leader Kenneth will not be too displeased about the cracks in the walls." (Sabik)

"Not almost destroyed, your exaggerating." (Lucas)

"I could fix some of them later on, once we get back to Leader." (Ciel)

"Great, you do that. In the meantime, let's get ready for battle. We should be closing in on them." Sabik raised his glaive with his right arm, and once they met the group of Karman, he instantly threw the weapon directly at them.

No time to react, the glaive zoomed straight towards the Karman, landing right in the middle of the group.

A hole in the ground was left from the glaive piercing the floors. Activating his glaive, electricity began converging on the handle of the glaive instead of on the blade, until it released its stored power and emitted bursts of lightning around the group, paralyzing all of them.

The rest were picked off one by one as Ciel and Sabik opened fire on the unmoving Karman with their laser rifles.

"See? Easy. Better than you destroying our ship." Sabik grinned at Lucas.

"Yeah, yeah. Anyway, let's get moving." (Lucas)

************

Arriving at the door of the cockpit, Sabik tried to open it, but was unsuccessful, very much like Ciel earlier.

"I tried opening it myself earlier. Would not budge." (Ciel)

"Who needs all this elaborate passwords and sensors anyway, when I can just bust it open! Enhance Phys (M)!" (Lucas)

His body growing in size and power, Lucas stretched his dominant arm, swinging it around a few times before slamming it directly onto the door, blasting it backwards, along with the barricades.

The flabbergasted Karman were still in shock to see the most secure door in the ship blasted out by a simple punch from Lucas.

With a grin on his face, Lucas rushed into the room, and began to brutally murder the defenseless Karman.

Ciel and Sabik joined in soon after, taking down their fare share of enemies.

Most of the enemy Karman had little to no weaponry available to them. They did not expect their barricade to be broken down as easily as Lucas did it. That's why they were helpless against the onslaught.

After confirming that all of the surrounding Karman had died, the three of them headed towards the controls, where Lucas stepped back after seeing how elaborate the controls were, with all the buttons and levers and switches.

"Are you kidding me?!" Ciel screamed in frustration, and maybe a hint of surprise.

"What's up?" Sabik peeked over.

"The controls are almost exactly the same as the Maya! Except for the few buttons that weren't present in my personal vehicle, the flight controls are almost the same!" (Ciel)

"Good for you, I guess? Is there a way for it to be configured to autopilot, at least? We'll be needing your help in fixing the cracks in the ship." (Sabik)

"Yeah, if you give me a minute, I should be able to set the ship to fly automatically to where Leader should be." (Ciel)

"That's good. In the meantime, Brother Lucas, you should run your hourly patrol until we have to take off." (Sabik)

"All I have to do is look for any stragglers, right? Easy enough." Lucas smiled as he left out the same door he busted through.

"I hope he doesn't cause anymore cracks in the ship..." (Sabik)

**************

"There! I've got it all set. We should be flying towards them once the system has finished routing our path." (Ciel)

"Good, good. And it looks like Brother Lucas has returned. Did you find anything?" Sabik looked at the sweaty Lucas.

"Yeah, just a few of them hiding, no problem. Took a while though, since they were running around the halls." Lucas groaned as he wiped off the sweat with his hands.

"Looks like the system is finished. Prepare for cruising. This whole time we've been a direct target for anyone in the sky, so it's great that we can finally move on now." (Ciel)

"Prepare for sudden burst of speed. Everyone fasten your seatbelts." He warned Sabik and Lucas.

"10, 9, 8... 3, 2, 1... zoom!" Both Lucas and Sabik were not prepared for the speed, and were pushed back into their chairs.

The force kept on pushing for the new few seconds or so, until it eventually halted to a standstill and they were now flying slowly through the air.

**************

"They're here. About time." Kenneth informed the rest of his subordinates' appearance.

"Isn't that the ship that's used to deploy their main force?" Fawkes looked staringly into the sky.

"Yeah, I had them take over one. Now everybody ready up, we'll be heading up soon." (Kenneth)
