Chapter 48 - Stage II, Chapter XXII: The Pilot Of The Maya

"Anyway, let's get right into it. Whoa!" An aircraft, shaped like a fighter jet swooped by. The sound prompted both Kenneth and the Karman to cover their ears. It was especially rough for the Karman, who was showing visible hints of annoyance.

"Arusn ydu gaidb thay kiah ma?!" (Aren't you going to kill me?!) The Karman screamed in anger at Kenneth. It had probably already given up on winning this fight. The Karman didn't look like the battle type, with how fragile he looked.

"Whoa, no way José. I've got a different goal in mind. Anyway, let's get back to your place. So..." Kenneth looked around the wide open area. They wete currently sitting right in the middle of the runway, yet no plane could hurt them. "A flight school, huh? Not too shabby."

Nearby, multiple Karman, most likely recruits, donned their gear as they saluted to one Karman who had an air of superiority. His back straight, the superior Karman screamed out something in their language.

"Come here." Kenneth snapped his fingers. The sound produced from it dragged the pilot towards him unwillingly. Once it had reached him, Kenneth reached his hand out and touched its forehead, doing the same it had with Sabik.

"Shouldn't you kill me now?" The Karman, looking unsurprised from how he could speak the Primal's language easily.

"I thought I told you, I have something greater in mind. I need people. People, to aid me in my grand mission." (Kenneth)

"Fuck off!" Tapping his goggles, the whole thing began to melt and form into multiple nests worth of wasps.

The wasps all looked similar in appearance to the one called earlier. This time though, they sensed the hostility their master was directing at the human. The Karman's emotion of anger seemed to transfer to the wasps, and almost all of them attacked in anger.

"You're quite ferocious. Stop the resistance." Kenneth snapped his fingers. And in an instant, the wasps were devoid of anger, and stopped rushing towards him. All of them floated in the air absentmindedly.

"While these things might not have a mind, this is still my world. I control everything." His green eyes flickered, and immediately, the Karman lost all sense of hostility.

"Just... kill me." The Karman pleaded.

"If you're not gonna tell me anything, I might as well do it myself. I didn't do this with Sabik, since he wasn't defiant... but I really have no choice. Come here." The Karman offered no resistance as it stood up, and limped towards Kenneth.

Reaching up to the head of the Karman, Kenneth ran his mana through its body. "I'm not very good with Karman anatomy, so you'll have to forgive me if you feel a bit of pain while I try to find where you store your memories." In the instant Kenneth began to look through the Karman's memories, the alien struggled like it had never struggled before.

"Sit still, will you. There it is. Hmm... Alright, I'm done." Kenneth took a second to analyze the sudden influx of info. "I guess that makes sense. What a very childish dream. You wanted to fly? Why are you using the Maya then?"

"I.. never wanted to use the Maya. I just wanted to fly..." Foam in his mouth, the Karman responded.

"How about this. I'll help you "fly." In return, you will aid me in my works. I've got an idea on how to let you "fly."

**************

"Is my little brother not finished yet?" Lena's head poked out from the door's entrance. It was already the third time in five minutes that she checked to make sure Kenneth was okay.

"Other than some light sweating, he's fine. Young master should be done soon." Catalyn, somehow not sick of Lena constantly coming back, replied eagerly with a cheery tone she had used earlier.

"I'm back. Did you guys miss me?" Kenneth stretched his limbs. He had been sitting in place without moving for the past five or so minutes.

"Would you mind getting off of me, Leader?" The pilot's voice came up from under Kenneth. It turned out that Kenneth had been sitting on the Karman's momentary lifeless body.

"Oh, my bad. Over here. Everyone gather up." Kenneth beckoned his siblings, and they gathered around in a circle immediately. "This is Ciel. Like the "sky." Ciel, these are my siblings. In order, Lucas, Lena, Catalyn, and last but not least, Aurelia. Oh, there's our dog too. His name is Tyrone." Kenneth began to introduce his second companion to his siblings.

"Woof!"

"Good... to meet you all. Leader gave me the name Ciel, so I guess that's how I'll be going by today. Although I never got to pilot an actual aircraft, I do know how to. If none of you can fly an airborne vessel, I'll be happy to oblige. I'm confident in learning these things quickly. I hope I can work with you all." Ciel bows.

"Right. I'm not good at these types of things, so you guys can keep on going. I'll be figuring out what to do next." Kenneth left the siblings.

A few minutes later, Kenneth was disturbed from his brainstorming process. It was Sabik.

"Leader, Sabik has returned. I have managed to break down four nearby Maya."

"Oh, great, you're back. You should introduce yourself to your new friend. He's gonna help us along with you in stopping this invasion." (Kenneth)

"Very well."
