Author's Note: This chapter takes place directly after the end of Main Story Chapter VIII
"Bah. It's happening again, Illia. The bastards outside are messing with this world again. Can't they just leave this planet alone? I'm sick of having to appear on Krodoa's surface everytime the bastards invade us." A man that could be described as an alcoholic is seen chugging down a a whole barrel's worth of wine. The man is seated opposite to a long haired beauty, having a shiny gold gleam all around her body, especially on her hair.
"I do agree. Power hungry would be what I would describe them as. Technologically advanced, perhaps even more than the human's continent. And even more so military-wise. I do wonder what would happen to this world, if they somehow happen to slay all the True Gods' apostles?" The woman who replies is known as Illia, The True Goddess Of Light.
"Heh, they're certainly welcome to try. I'll be ready to give them a "piece of my mind"! AHAHAHA!" (Jandru)
"Crack down on the jokes will you? This time the number of forces they are sending are substantially bigger than usual." (Illia)
"Shit, you're actually right. Maybe they're not ready for it yet, after all?" Jandru replies, thinking of a certain boy and his siblings.
"Kenneth is your problem. As far as I know, I've been diligently training Lena almost everyday, helping her to increase her fighting prowess. Maybe soon she'll surpass the Nature Apostle in battle."
"Bah, I'll appear to him soon enough. Constant strain to the mind is not good, but if I turn that strain into more power, he'll soon kick both the Light Apostle's and Nature Apostle's asses."
"Not for a long time, he won't. Mental magic is not directly suitable for personal battles, so he'll be more suitable for support at home."
"He said he would be finding a cure for his sickness soon. But nevermind about that. Gaia said that her apostle would arrive soon. Hopefully before the attack from the Karman." (Jandru)
The Karman were interstellar beings, part of the Karman Empire, which comprises of multiple galaxies. The Karman are an intelligent alien species, who are known across Outer Space as "The Chosen Ones", or how they proclaimed themselves as. Their vast intelligence and power allowed them to build the most powerful Empire in all the galaxies. Even with all their might, they were interested in "Mana", power that only existed in certain planets, which allowed it's inhabitants to control elements and various aspects of their respective worlds.
The thing about these "Mana-enriched" planets, were that they were all located in a different universe not controlled by the Karman Empire. Desperate for more power, the Karman began to launch attacks on these planets, in hope of stealing "Mana". And this is where the False Gods come in. The False Gods were Karmans sent by themselves in hopes of colonizing the planet with ease. They underestimated mana though. Unable to accomplish their mission to steal this planet, they stole the power of the True Gods and disguised themselves as their replacements, leading to the True Gods being left with only a fraction of their power, having to rely on their apostles.
Whenever the Karmans attack, it is unable to be detected by Mana sensors, since the technology they use is not reliant on mana. Portals of noticeable size appear all over the world, particularly in mana-rich areas. These pools of mana are then stolen by the Karmans and brought back to their planets. They also occasionally kidnap Krodoa's inhabitants, bring them back to their worlds and proceed to drain the kidnapped people's bodies of mana until it becomes lifeless.
The only ever known way to stop the portals is by annihilating all the Karmans that come through, therefore rendering it useless, until it disappears completely. This lead to the superpowers of Krodoa to dispatch frequent magicians to guard mana-rich areas, and hiring Spatial Magic Users to be on high alert and report whenever there is an anomaly in outer space, allowing countries to prepare in advance for the incoming war.
"The countries should have been informed already by their personal spatial magicians about the twinkle in the sky. This signifies that the Karmans are coming soon, and will mostly arrive in a month or two. Until that time, I hope you'll train your apostle for when that time comes." (Illia)
"Right, right, I will. Enough of that though. Gaia should be here by now." (Jandru)
"Oh? Don't mind me. Keep on talking. We were talking about the Karmans." A woman with leaves as her hair and flowers all over her body suddenly appear out of nowhere, looking like she had been listening to the conversation for a long time.
"Gaia...." (Illia)
"What's with that face, Illia dear? Are you not happy to see a fellow divine being other than Mister Alcoholic here?" Gaia looks around. "And the place reeks of wine. If you don't mind, I'll place one of my sweet smelling flowers here to freshen up the air. The sheer smell of the wine is almost making me drunk." (Gaia)
"Bahahaha! Haven't seen you in a while, Gaia. How's your apostle doing?" (Jandru)
"She's fine, thank you." Gaia takes a seat beside Illia. "She'll be reaching Fahndra in a week or two. With her mount, she will probably reach Argonsville by the fifteenth day of this month, half a month before the Karmans start their invasion. Although I do worry about her being seen as an elf." (Gaia)
"Don't worry about it. I'll lend you a bit of power and confuse anyone she passes by to think of her as a normal human. Do tell her that she doesn't need to hide under a hood or something. It'd be a shame if she hides her beauty under a piece of cloth, hehe." (Jandru)
"Fuck off, you old man. How many women have you gone through in the first few hundred years of your reign as a god? I won't even bother counting." (Illia)
"Chill out now, Illia. It's just a joke." (Jandru)
"It damn well better be!" Gaia conjures a tree branch in her hand, and swings it at Jandru, but promptly stops just before it hits his head.
This was Jandru's favorite magic, Disconnect. It forced the signals from the brain to be unable to reach it's destination, making any attempt at moving useless.
Jandru stops the magic and then begins to chug another barrel of wine.
"Ignore him. How's your apostle been doing? Can she make forests yet?" (Illia)
"Well, no....."
Author's Note II: This isn't meant to be a long chapter, just a bit of info about this arc's enemies, and some fun with the Three Gods.
