The palace maid smiled because she found that there were no wounds on the body of the seven-year-old boy. She grabbed a cloth and a container. Then from a tube filled with fresh water, she filled the container.
With great care and attention, the palace lady cleaned Aryan's face and body.
"We can't run from the destiny that has been laid down for our lives," said the palace maid. At least, she had seen what happened to Aryan, and to his mother who had to lie helplessly on the ground, before. "This little kindness is all I can give you, as a fellow human being."
The palace lady treats Aryan like she would take care of her little brother.
"You're only going to get your clothes dirty, Sister!" said the prince. "Wouldn't it be better if you put the Candala boy in the back row, along with the other Parias?"
"I'm not asking you for advice," said the princess and then snorted at her brother.
"You really are stubborn!"
"Whatever!" said the little princess. "Mind your own business!"
