"Just place the jewel on metal and recite these words: 'Receptacle of the Dragon, permute!' As you do so, remember to think of the exact shape and form you wish to have it be." Eltanin explained the entire process out for me, which was essentially a spell that would restore the Meteor back to its full glory. It would be reborn anew, if we were being technical.
I asked him what kind of metal I should use, he told me that the proper mind would either be pure gold or something from a meteorite. But, either was difficult for me to obtain.
So he told me that for now that iron would be fine. Following by his instructions, I took the most common iron item in the house. A spoon.
After obtaining from rummaging the kitchen drawers, I made myself scarce from there and ran to my bedroom.
Slamming the doors and locking it behind me so that my family members don't come in just in case they caught me at the wrong moment.
I was not at all ready to share Eltanin's secret. After all, even he stated that it would be very troublesome if Eltanin was discovered by those not chosen by fate.
During that conversation by the way, I was surprised to see how much Eltanin placed an importance on fate.
Which, seems like an arbitrary thing to do considering that he was a cosmic being that was practically a kind of God. So for a God to believe in fate seemed a little strange to me.
But, I wasn't complaining.
Anyways, after having brought the spoon to Eltanin, he made a passing comment on how terrible its quality was. And, I could not refute that at all.
"Although it is very low quality, it is not too bad. At least it's a metal. That's a start regardless." Eltanin sighed, grabbing the spoon at its base.
"So, what other things do I have to do?" I stood at the side, feeling awkward doing nothing. So I asked whether or not there was any other preparations for the spell.
The miniature Dragon God paused in midair, contemplating something. Before jolting back into action and orbited around me whilst uttering a series of; "Ooh, ooh, ohh!"
"There is! There's one other thing I have to do!" Eltanin was obviously excited with whatever was about to happen. And I was intrigued.
"Tell me. What do I have to do?" I asked inquisitively. To which Eltanin quickly replied, "Hold both the marble and spoon in separate hands while thinking of the shape you want the Meteor to be and then as you finish doing the incantations and the final phrase, bring them together and they will fuse."
I was surprised that there wasn't anything more to it, it seemed simple enough so I tried it out.
Holding in mind the shape I wanted it to be was easy as I was going for a ring. Simple and stylish.
The incantation in general was quite a lengthy one, but not hard to memorise at all. Still I jotted it down on a notepad in case I forget. I even placed it right on my desk for convenience.
Before reciting the words, I made sure that I was fully ready for this. After assuring myself for it, I then started the incantation.
"Brilliant Star of Transformation, I borrow your power to cast over this grand transition. To alter this ultimate creation, borne out of cosmic power. Let it be reborn once more into a form which embodies the aspect I give to it. Complete its change and revival!" As I recited the spell, bright light gradually emitted from the two items in my hands.
Shining like a star as soon as I nearly completed it, the only thing left was: "Receptacle of the Dragon, permute!" I shouted aloud as I brought the two items together hurriedly.
All of a sudden, I could see the spoon's defined shape behind the blinding lights, warping and melting into liquid around the marble.
The light soon began to fade, and I could see it then fully enveloped the marble in liquid iron.
With this as my cue, I held on to the image of a ring in my mind and began to envision its shape as I used hand gestures to shape it into that very shape.
It was very strange. Very awkward really. But I was able to shape it down into a ring after getting used to having metal bend to my will and mind.
So, in the middle of the air, just right in front me, was a silvery, liquid metal ring that did not take solid form until I entered the next phase, which involved saying another phrase: "Receptacle of the Dragon, take form."
The moment I uttered those words, as if it were water instantly freezing the moment it came contact with anything below zero, the metal solidified into the exact shape I wanted to. Then it promptly fell into my hands when I reached for it.
I could still feel the warmth from the light it once emitted, it was a smooth ring. Felt nice to hold.
The ring without its true appearance settled was a thick banded silver ring with a blank circle. Feeling satisfied with how it turned out, I handed the ring over to Eltanin, so he could define its new true appearance.
Which was honestly y a pretty cool sight. The moment he came into contact with the ring, a crimson light washed over the ring, and soon it became a scarlet red ring, with the circle surface now having a line around it which surrounded a particular design.
The design seemed to be painted in black, and could be described as five arrows in a cycle that overlapped each other somewhat.
On either sides of the ring, there were two diamond-like studs which were reminiscent of a really sharp claw or nail.
I was amused to see how it changed from something generic, to something so beautiful and unique so quickly.
Happily, I reached out for the ring and took it in my hand. Inspecting its new form before eventually placing it on my right hand side ring finger.
Settling it down, I witnessed the ring change shape and, as Eltanin previously described, conformed to fit my preferences.
Which, for now was a cool silver skull ring with black filling in for the eyes and crevices.
I could absolutely change it to something else if I desired to. But this was too cool to pass up on.
I hoped my family don't ask where I got it from, other wise that'd be too much of a hassle. In that case though I can just say that I bought it off from the internet. Or more specifically, if I wanted to make a more convincing case, I could say I bought it on a Internet personality's merch website.
Whether it was a Youtuber or a Twitch streamer, they would not care at all. After all, those two words were enough to dissuade both form asking anymore questions.
Funnily enough, I did actually buy a streamer's merchandise earlier this month and one of the things I ordered included a ring with a very similar appearance to this.
Just that it was completely black. So, all I could say was that I bought both the black version and silver version and it would be completely legible since they would see both on the website anyways.
"Ooh! What a cool ring. How very stylish." Eltanin seemed to appreciate how cool the skull ring was, which I heartily agreed with.
"Yep. You and me both Elta. Now, how do you transform again?" I queried Eltanin to remind me what I had to do to gain the powers of the Dragon of Extinction.
And it was much easier than one would initially think, it was just that one needed a phrase that they feel would embody a creature of destruction.
Turns out, it was basically just me making a password so I can use the ring's functions. Only that it also needed to have a phrase that to turn me back to normal.
In all my years of living, this would probably be the greatest. Since I already had a good phrase.
"Eltanin. Perfect storm." It was short and not too long, and made sense considering that Eltanin's Powers was related to disasters.
In this case, it was just something that was utterly perfect.
Now, it was time for me to cook up a chaotic storm I suppose....
