"Shadow clone jutsu!" Poof! A shadow clone of Itachi appeared.
Itachi jumped down in front of Sasuke.
Sasuke's eyes widened upon seeing Itachi out of nowhere like that, but he quickly overcame that and ran towards him.
"Big brother! What's going on?" He asked, his eyes full of tears flowing.
"Sasuke, listen to me.
You need to go directly to our house.
I'll send a clone to protect you, okay?"
"Big brother, what's going on? Everyone's dead! Tell me!"
Itachi pulled Sasuke in for a hug,
"Everything will be fine, okay? Just listen and do what I tell you.
Father and mother are back home. They're fine and you're also fine.
But I have to look for more survivors now."
Itachi let him go.
Sasuke calmed down and nodded,
He quickly wiped his tears and went with Itachi's clone.
After that, Itachi went directly toward Danzo and his root members. Sakumo walked behind Danzo, his Anbu were also searching for survivors.
"Rescue anyone alive!"
"Hokage-sama, there's a survivor, he's with Itachi Uchiha."
Yugao spoke as she saw Sasuke.
"No one else made it," Kakashi stated as he checked another body.
"Take away all the corpses, every single one, check the houses, too."
They all nodded.
The Anbu continued searching for survivors. Tenzo, Kakashi, and the rest were in a spot gathered around the Uchiha police station.
"Who do you think could've done something as monstrous as this?"
Tenzo asked Kakashi.
"Itachi Uchiha." Danzo popped out of nowhere and already began his game.
"Itachi?" Tenzo wondered,
"Itachi Uchiha harbored a secret about his clan.
He despised it."
"Hokage-sama! We found more survivors!" An Anbu came running towards them.
Danzo's eyes narrowed.
'That isn't according to our plan, Itachi Uchiha.
Tch!'
"Survivors, you say?" He asked as he faced the Anbu.
"Yes, Fugaku-dono, and his family.
I wonder how many Uchiha's survived this attack."
"What about Ryuu Uchiha? Where is he?" Another Anbu asked,
"I don't expect him to be one of them because he doesn't even live close to their compounds. The captain might be on a mission or something."
Danzo frowned,
"No, he must have known something like this would happen, maybe he's even a part of this. In any case, we will use all our power to get to the bottom of this."
"That's enough! Get back to work."
Sakumo commanded. His Anbu didn't waste time and flickered away.
"It would appear that this settles everything," Danzo stated,
"Hear me, Danzo, you've outstayed your welcome. From now on, you're no longer part of the council of Konoha.
What you've been doing has harmed the village in more ways than one."
"Hokage-sama-"
"Furthermore, the foundation operation is now disbanded for good. Tomorrow we will make sure you no longer have even one subordinate to keep you safe.
We are tired of your schemes Danzo, we are tired of your every movement."
Sakumo looks Danzo in the eyes.
"What do you went to say? You did this for the village? The Uchiha are part of the village! Your plan failed, everything you've done has failed. You are a failure.
I'll remind you one more time, I'm not lord third, you won't be put under house arrest, nor will you have your chakra sealed.
You are to be detained in a building that I chose for you, far from the village. Nothing and no one will come to or from that house without my permission."
Pushing through Danzo, Sakumo walked towards Fugaku's house.
A foundation member appeared behind him,
"Danzo-sama, the body count doesn't add up."
Danzo stopped walking.
"What's that?"
"The Uchiha, it's not all of them who got killed. Not like you planned."
"I know that much, is there anything else?"
"I witnessed everything. And I will continue to watch." His voice suddenly deepened.
Danzo grits his teeth after knowing who it was.
A Sharingan with three spiraling curves around the eye glared at him as he thought. 'Itachi Uchiha…'
"You broke our deal, Itachi. Not all of them are dead. You failed your mission."
"My mission? I played you this whole time, and now you're getting what you deserve."
Countless crows emerged from Itachi's body and flew upwards.
These words shook Danzo,
'Was that a threat?
No, even worse…
That was a curse.'
----------------------------------------
Meanwhile, while the other Anbu had collected the bodies, Ryuu arrived with two people on his shoulder.
"If this is the scope of Itachi's hatred. It ran deep." Tenzo said as he placed another corpse.
"Well, it isn't." They all looked above and saw Ryuu carrying three dead bodies.
"These three are the ones responsible for the Uchiha massacre, not Itachi."
"But Danzo-sama said-"
"Danzo lied, see?" Ryuu opened the mouth of one of the bodies.
"Curse seal," Tenzo murmured.
"This is a curse mark placed on all members of the Foundation.
Danzo sought to destroy my clan all by himself because he feared they'd attack the village."
"What?! Does he have that kind of authority?!"
Ryuu shook his head,
"It doesn't matter.
Listen, I need you all to do me a favor.
Whatever I've told you here, keep it here, make sure my cousin Itachi is safe. Danzo is trying to frame him for the murder of all these people."
"Yes, sir!" With an unnoticeable smirk, Ryuu flickered away.
'The next day, the rest of the Uchiha clan heard about what happened from Obito.
The clan held a funeral for all the lives taken in the Uchiha District.
Danzo blamed Itachi for the Uchiha massacre and he became a rogue ninja who I'm helping to keep safe for now.
Obito and I would help the clan rebuild slowly by slowly.
During the evening, I went to the Hokage's office to get a debrief.'
Ryuu entered, it was him and Sakumo alone. Ryuu stood across from Sakumo, who silently listened with his arms behind his back.
"I've spoken to uncle recently. I've told him to back off for a while. The clan needs a few days off to recover, you know."
"Yes, and I've spoken to many of my Anbu, I've given them the orders you suggested."
"This plan will work, I just know it."
"Let's hope it does."
"It has to.
Otherwise, all this will be for nothing."
Ryuu left Sakumo's office.
Following what happened to the Uchiha clan, the village slept easier; they were happy for the first time in a while, and they lived knowing that the great evil in the village had finally been defeated.
If only they knew…
Danzo wouldn't go a single day without an evil grin stretching on his face as he looked at all the Sharingans he collected.
3 days later, the joy in the village was starting to fade because no one was defending the citizens.
Thugs would harass the villagers.
They've been harassing them for the past 2 days because there was no police left.
Ryuu was on his way home after shopping. He carried multiple bags while walking.
A random villager spotted him and ran toward him,
"Ryuu-sama, why won't the remaining people in the Uchiha clan help us?" He asked.
"Are you kidding me? My clan was massacred just a few days ago, and here you are asking for our help. Don't think I didn't see all of you celebrating just three days ago."
"I…" he couldn't help but put his head low in shame,
"Tch!
That's not the reason we aren't helping you, though."
Ryuu calmed down and answered,
"The truth is, the Uchiha clan is rebuilding and recovering.
There are less than a hundred of us left because of…
Never mind, I've said too much already." Ryuu carried the bags and headed home.
He sent a wood clone to Sakumo's office.
"Hokage-sama, I've made sure lord third doesn't get any information on this operation.
Shisui stands between him and his compound. I've also made sure that the Anbu you isolated doesn't get any information too."
Sakumo closed his eyes and nodded,
"Good, now let's begin phase 2."
Ryuu's clone nodded as he sunk into the ground.
A week after the Uchiha massacre, the villagers started realizing their mistakes.
There was a man named Soga Akimitsu, the oldest man in Konoha, he lived long enough to see all the Hokage's reigns and his wife was the woman who made all the Hokage's cloaks.
He sent a letter to the Hokage requesting assistance from the higher-ups.
'Hokage-sama, the village grows uneasy, there are bandits who constantly harass and rob us, we're tired of this!'
"That's what the letter says," Sakumo says, he reads it out loud to Ryuu.
"Good, just reply in a few hours and watch as this plan works," Ryuu said as he sat on Sakumo's couch with his leg up on one of the rests.
"I'll address this later," Sakumo said and placed the letter on his desk.
He looked back at Ryuu with a frown on his face,
"Ryuu, what did I say about putting your feet on my couch? Some important people sit there, this seems impolite to them."
Ryuu took his feet off the couch.
"How unfortunate," Ryuu muttered.
Later that day, Sakumo addressed this matter with the other villagers.
He stood in front of a crowd on the balcony of his office.
"Hokage-sama, why aren't the Uchiha clan here to protect us? Aren't they in charge of the police force? I understand what happened to them was a tragedy, but still…"
"The Uchiha clan have faced a lot of dissatisfaction from the village, and now they resigned from their position as peacekeepers in the village,
I can't do anything about it now.
You all just have to endure until I find a suitable candidate and I make a decision."
Sakumo walked back to his office.
Just as he was about to enter, he called to one of his Anbu members who kneeled in front of him.
"Hokage-sama, you summoned me?"
Sakumo nods, he specifically asked for this Anbu because of his special trait.
"Stand up, Anzai."
Anzai nods and respectfully stands up,
"Do what you do best, the villagers feel uneasy, they're weak right now."
"Understood sir."
"You'll give me updates on what you find after every day unless the heat is too much."
"Of course, sir. Is this a solo mission?" Sakumo shakes his head,
"No, we need this to be done with haste, give it your all."
"Of course, I'll handle this to the best of my ability. Oh, and sir.
Please refer to me as 'Sachi' from now on.
The villagers were meeting inside a bar; they crowded the area, surrounding one old man. He was bald with soggy skin that looked like it was blocking his vision, and he had a walking stick beside him for support.
Villagers were arguing with each other and speaking over one another.
"This is outrageous! If you told me just a week ago, the village will be falling apart because the Uchiha clan wasn't present, I would have laughed at you!
But now here we are, we're getting beaten and harassed every day because we don't have the police force!"
"Yeah, but who could blame you? The way they used to act all high and mighty, none of us thought they actually added value." Another man added.
They argued and each of them made their statements about the village for hours until Sachi and many others entered and joined.
