Ryuu and Minato had arrived on the battlefield.
"Boom!" An enormous boulder fell near them, leaving a massive explosion.
"At last, you're finally here." One Konoha shinobi said, he looked to be in charge.
He was in the trenches taking cover as the Iwa shinobi launched massive boulders at them.
"So what's our status?" Minato asked.
"There are at least 50 enemy ninja, by comparison, we only have 5 of us here, but seeing it's you and Ryuu Uchiha, I'm sure we're going to win."
Ryuu looked around.
He saw all the dead bodies, limbs were severed, blood and guts were everywhere and then he tightened his grip on his sword ready to fight again.
'These will never be my friends.'
Ryuu said to himself.
"The battle is almost over, let's get them now." The Iwa shinobi said.
"All of you, please throw these Kunai knives all at once, we'll take care of this by ourselves."
Ryuu and Minato gave them their kunai's.
"That's crazy, not even both of you could possibly-"
"Be quiet, do as he says, you'll get to see the yellow flash and the Phoenix King in battle. Just don't blink."
Both Minato and Ryuu cracked their fingers.
"There are over 50 shinobi on the battlefield, as far as I can count, they're 1000 of them here, you ready, big brother?" He nodded.
"Let's do combo 5, you remember it, right?"
Ryuu nodded.
Ryuu held his hand out, and Minato gave him a fist bump and then took out his sword.
"Charge!" The Iwa shinobi charged at them.
"Now!" They threw the Kunai and watched as the two of them defeated the enemies.
They did the battle in five seconds and the only thing they saw was red and yellow lightning flickering.
They were so fast they didn't even give the enemies time to react.
"But how?" The Konoha shinobi wondered.
"That's the power of the yellow flash and the Phoenix King." He Replied.
"Let's help them get back to their base." Ryuu nodded.
Gasp!
Ryuu felt something wrong near the seal he gave Kakashi.
"I'll see you later, I have to go."
He teleported to Kakashi and Obito, who were arguing about what their next move would be.
"Kakashi, we have to go for Rin! She's our friend and our comrade!"
Kakashi remained silent.
"This mission is important to Konoha, if we go after her, it'll mean we broke the rules."
Obito's eyes widened.
"And Rin? what do we do about Rin, huh?!"
"We'll come back for her later.
Look, the enemy will want to find out what we're up to so they won't kill her right away.
Luckily Rin is a medic, so even if she ends up a prisoner of war she'll be treated well as long as she cares for their wounded she'll be safe.
But we'll be in serious trouble if the enemy has time to learn what our strategy is. If they find out, they'll no doubt increase the security right away, that would make our mission much more difficult."
Obito gritted his teeth.
"But you're only assuming that Rin will be safe based on these guesses of yours! What if those guys who got her are just nobodies that know nothing better at all! Look, saving Rin takes priority over the mission and that's that!"
Kakashi's emotionless face said it all, he didn't want to listen to Obito's Pleads.
"We are Shinobi. we must carry out our mission even at the expense of our comrades, that's the law, if we fail, the war will drag on and more lives than just Rin's will be lost."
Obito's Sharingan activated.
Ryuu teleported to them.
"That's just another one of your guesses! You're willing to desert her for a mere hypothesis?! How can you be willing to abandon whose been through life and death with you?
When we were wounded, Rin and Ryuu saved our lives from medical ninjutsu! Without them, we would've died a long time ago!"
Kakashi wasn't budging and still had the same expressionless look on his face.
"What's going on here?"
Ryuu asked as he separated the two.
"Rin got captured and Kakashi is refusing to go help her! I tried listening to him and understanding him, but nothing happened!" Ryuu nodded.
"Rin was just doing her job as we must…" Obito punched him in the face.
"I don't like you. I never will!" Obito said.
"I don't care if you do or not, I'm the captain right now, you will obey my decisions, Obito.
Whatever The circumstances, one person alone makes the decisions to keep the team together, that's why we make it a rule. All team members must obey the captain's decision.
Obito, you have no power, that's why I'm the captain and you aren't." Kakashi said.
Obito picked him up.
"Then why don't you save rin by yourself. It means you have the power to rescue your teammate, isn't that right, Kakashi?!"
Kakashi looked him in the eye, showing no fear at all.
"That's enough from both of you. Kakashi, you and Obito save Rin, I'll destroy the bridge by myself, I'll come back to you as soon as I can, ok?"
He nodded.
"How could you move on after he just said he'd priorities completing the mission over saving our friend?!" Ryuu frowned.
"Obito, you have to understand, you put Kakashi in a tough spot, it's his first mission as a captain, and the first big decision was to save his comrade's life or to complete a mission that could save many more.
I expect even you to understand how difficult it is."
Obito frowned.
"I believe that the White Fang is a true hero for what he did."
Kakashi and Ryuu's eyes widened.
"You're right, in the ninja world, those who break the rules as a ninja are regarded as scum, but those who would abandon even one of their friends are even worse than scum."
Kakashi's eyes widened as he remembered Ryuu telling him those same words.
Kakashi walked toward him.
"If you're going to save Rin, I won't let you go by yourself, you'll get killed."
A small smile appeared on his face.
They left to save Rin from the Iwa shinobi and Ryuu hurried to Kannabi bridge.
Meanwhile, Kakashi and Obito were getting closer to them.
"Ugh!" Kakashi held his hand, which was still wounded from the earlier encounter with Iwagakure shinobi.
"Hey, are you OK?" Obito asked.
"I'll be fine, let's catch up to Rin and the others, there's no time to waste."
He nodded.
They caught up to them.
"Obito, use your Sharingan, and don't let your guard down." Obito nodded.
"Whoosh!" He revealed himself behind Obito and Kakashi and swung his Kunai toward them.
"No!" Kakashi got in the way and got cut.
"Damn it." He held his eye in pain.
"Camouflage jutsu!" He disappeared again.
"Obito, you go rescue Rin, he will attack me first because I can't anticipate his attacks like you can with your Sharingan."
He reappeared in between Obito and Kakashi.
"White light chakra blade!" Kakashi cut his chest open.
"I know that silver hair and that white light blade, are you the White Fang of the leaf?" He asked as he held his chest in pain.
"It's a memento from my father." He smirked.
"I see, then there's nothing to be concerned about, you're just his brat."
Just as he said, Kakashi disappeared in front of him and then was behind him with a Kunai to his throat.
"Genjutsu!" He swung his blade and slit his throat.
"Are you ok?" Obito asked.
Obito was balancing tears in his eyes.
"You got some of that dust in your eyes again? I'm not dead yet, so stop being a crybaby, Shinobi don't cry."
Obito removed his goggles and wiped the tears off.
"My left eye is gone for good, but never mind that I can use this kit Rin gave me to cover myself up, we have to save Rin."
Obito nodded.
They locked rin up underneath a cave.
"You're certainly stubborn, aren't ya?"
The shinobi was still using genjutsu to get information out of her.
"Hmph?" He turned around to see both Kakashi and Obito looking at him.
Meanwhile, Ryuu reached Kannabi bridge, he had to use his camouflage jutsu to hide from the enemies; he had used sage mode to enhance his jutsu's effect.
'Finally, once I finish here I'll save Obito, Madara Uchiha won't get his hands on my friend.'
Ryuu opened his Mangekyou Sharingan and activated Phoenix Flame mode as he left the transparent jutsu.
It shocked the Iwagakure shinobi to see him appear out of nowhere.
Ryuu teleported above them using his Mangekyou Sharingan.
"You're not welcome in the land of fire."
He weaved hand signs.
"Phoenix-style: Dragon fire jutsu!" Ryuu shot out a massive dragon made of Phoenix Flame, it danced around the bridge and burned everything and everyone down in seconds.
Ryuu was controlling his dragon to get the remaining shinobi.
"Run!" they yelled, but Ryuu's flames deafened their screams as it was spreading.
"Earth-style multiple mud wall!"
They all attempted to block it with a mud wall, but it passed through it and burned them.
"Water style giant vortex jutsu!" Ryuu used the water from beneath to make a giant vortex and directed it to the remaining Iwa shinobi.
"I've never seen a water style this large, it's been an honor serving you Tsuchikage-sama."
The Iwa shinobi said as he looked above.
A giant vortex covered the skies, making it seem like the weather changed and was still growing.
"Now!" Ryuu sent the water crashing down.
Boom!
The water wiped out everything and everyone around; it left a large piece of the land shattered and Ryuu fell to his knees, panting and sweating.
"Too much, chakra," Ryuu said weakly.
Right before he collapsed, his dragon dispersed into flames.
Ryuu entered Phoenix Flame mode.
His eyes widened.
'It's so cold…' He left Phoenix Flame mode immediately.
Cough!
Ryuu coughed out blood.
He wiped it off on the ground and ignored it.
'I'll have to use the chakra I have left.
It would be nice if that strange voice spoke to me again and gave me more strength.
Even though I still see it, it's like it doesn't want to talk to me, but something tells me it's in the middle of all this.'
Ryuu said to himself.
He opened a portal using his Mangekyou and disappeared into dark smoke, this time his teleportation was slower than usual.
