Chapter 93 - Leaving Sunagakure

Ryuu closed his eyes.

'50 jonin level shinobi over here, some of them are spread out, some are scouting, some are drinking and celebrating and some are planning something.

I could kill them all right now with a big jutsu, or I could challenge myself by fighting them and holding back a little.

Honestly, I have multiple options, I could even kill them so silently and they wouldn't realize until it's too late.

Sometimes having this many options can be such a drag.'

Ryuu flinched as he felt someone tap his shoulder.

"It's time to take these bastards to the village."

Ryuu nodded.

'I made my choice, I'll be silent.'

"Thanks for the help."

"Help?" His eyes widened as he felt a sting in his chest and fell.

Ryuu entered sage mode and made a hand sign.

"Sage art: enhanced mist jutsu!"

Whoosh!

A thick mist spread through the camp.

"Hey, what the hell is going on here?!"

Many soldiers were confused and couldn't get rid of the thick mist.

"I can't see a damn thing! Someone check if the Konoha shinobi have escaped!"

"Wait, do you guys see that?"

"See what?" They gripped their swords tighter.

"That flicker of light, right there."

"No, I don't see…" Thud!

The sound of a body dropping.

After that, they could hear multiple bodies dropping at a quick rate.

The shinobi was trembling in fear, he couldn't even hold his sword properly and was sweating heavily, swinging his blade everywhere, and then, he heard a voice inside this mist…

"You know originally this jutsu was made for assassination.

I never understood why that was because it made such a loud sound.

I enjoyed listening to that sound, though.

I found it soothing, like the sound of a thousand birds chirping, however, I developed it further and upgraded it."

This voice was filling this shinobi with fear.

"Now no one can hear me coming and before you know it."

Ryuu got rid of the mist.

"N-n-no way…" He was quivering and panting, his eyes were widening.

All the rotting corpses of his friends had holes in their hearts.

"Now, once I'm through with my enemies, all that's left is their dead bodies."

Ryuu appeared in front of the shinobi.

He had blood in his hands and some had splashed on his face.

"You're him, aren't you? Ryuu Uchiha, Konoha's hybrid, the Phoenix King of the leaf."

Ryuu stabbed him using Chidori.

"Yes, yes, I am."

He walked over to the prisoners and opened their gate.

"Is everyone alright?"

"Ryuu-sama, thanks for your help, but we aren't the only ones captured."

Ryuu nodded.

"Don't worry, I've sent my clones to free them from Sunagakure's other camps."

He smiled.

"Thank you for your efforts, we won't forget this." Ryuu smiled and nodded.

"How did you all get captured?"

"We were sent here to spy on Sunagakure but we got captured, some of us have remained here for months and some like me have arrived a few weeks ago, Sunagakure Have set some traps and we don't know where they are."

Ryuu nodded.

"I can't take you so far, but I can take you far enough and from there I'll send my clones with you, I'm sorry, but I have a mission." He nodded.

The Shinobi followed Ryuu on their way back to their base.

Ryuu's clones had arrived with the other shinobi.

"Alright, this is as far as I can go, have a safe journey back and be careful next time." They nodded.

"Thanks for the help."

Ryuu teleported away.

"Transformation jutsu!" Ryuu transformed back into Ryuji and then adjusted his voice and suppressed his chakra.

Ryuu teleported back into his hotel.

"You're back already?" Ryuji nodded.

He connected his mind to Hiroto.

"I did it, all prisoners are set free, the Kazekage won't be pleased after he hears this, he'll hear about this in a few hours.

Maybe it's time for Sunagakure to negotiate for peace with Konoha."

He nodded.

"Anyway, I have to go now, I'm sure Rasa is waiting for me."

"Wait."

"Huh?" Hiroto stretched his hand out.

"I need some money, I lost a bet, I promise I'll pay you back."

Ryuu frowned and dropped his head depressingly as he hesitantly gave him his money.

'Jiraiya-sensei…'

He shook his head and left.

Ryuji shook his head.

They spent the next year in Sunagakure.

'I learned a lot of techniques and tricks from Rasa, eventually, I was allowed access to the secret library.

Not much was going on in Sunagakure and so we were leaving today, I went to the Kazekage's office to tell him the news.'

"Kazekage-sama, I wish to leave Sunagakure.

Hiroto-sama says he wants to travel around the land of wind more, he says it's too boring always drinking with the same people every day."

The Kazekage nodded.

"Does he insist you leave with him?" Rasa asked.

Ryuji shook his head.

"I wish to leave with him, I cannot abandon my father, he practically saved my life, I would die without him and now I wish to leave with him, I apologize, I know that this is a big loss in Sunagakure but I have no purpose apart from living with Hiroto-sama."

He bowed his head and removed his head protector.

"I'm retiring as a shinobi." Rasa's eyes widened.

"I understand." The Kazekage said.

"Just hand in your forehead protector and Chunin flask, and then you should leave."

Ryuji nodded.

"Thank you for this, I will not forget." He left.

"Kazekage-sama, why did you allow him to leave?"

"Because there's no point in keeping someone who doesn't want to become a shinobi any longer.

We might make them become a rogue ninja-like Sasori, he's already giving a poor reputation to Sunagakure now just imagine what would happen if we let your apprentice become a rogue ninja all because he wanted to live with his family.

The village would see us as a joke."

Rasa frowned and nodded.

"I apologize, perhaps I was wrong."

The Kazekage nodded.

"Anyway, we have more important matters to attend to, have you heard anything from the Daimyo?"

Rasa nodded.

"We've received a messenger hawk saying that he's expected to be here by midnight."

The Kazekage nodded.

"Will you be attending this meeting alone?"

The Kazekage nodded.

"I want to ensure that Sunagakure gets the resources we need for this war."

Rasa nodded.

Meanwhile, Ryuu had reached his home.

"Hiroto-sama! Are you here?!" No one responded.

He closed his eyes and found him.

"Jiraiya-sensei…" He facepalmed.

He teleported to where he was and connected his mind.

"Sensei, what are you doing?" He jumped back, dropping his binoculars.

"I told you not to scare me like that when I'm doing my research."

Ryuu chuckled.

"Anyway, let's go, we have a lot to do before we leave, you know." He nodded.

"Before we leave, I'm sure you would like to take a peek, right?"

Ryuu didn't respond.

He stood there frozen in place and Jiraiya noticed this odd behavior.

"You alright?" He tapped his shoulder.

Ryuu flinched and widened his eyes.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Umm, we should get going." He teleported him back to their hotel.

'That was odd.' Jiraiya said to himself as he packed.

"Hey, I'm going to get a few things before we leave, do you need anything?"

Ryuji shook his head.

Hiroto left, and Ryuji packed everything and sealed them away.

'What was that back then? It's like I was frozen in place, I felt so cold and I couldn't even think.

Is something wrong with me?'

Ryuji continued packing his things.

By the time Hiroto came back, Ryuji was done packing.

"Done already?" Ryuji nodded.

Hiroto started packing.

'After a few minutes, he was done, and we left to go back to Konoha.'

"It's been 2 years, I wonder how much things have changed.

Aren't you looking forward to doing something, sensei?"

He nodded.

"Well, I miss the hot springs in Konoha, they had much better…

Quality."

Ryuji smiled.

After they got far enough, they released the transformation jutsu and teleported back to Konohagakure.
