Chapter 69 - Ryuu's memories part 2

When Ryuu woke up, the first thing he realized was the cold ground.

He tried getting into Phoenix Flame mode but nothing happened.

"What is this place?" His voice echoed.

"You're finally awake." A strange voice greeted him, it was deep and raspy. Ryuu looked around to see who was talking to him but saw nothing.

"Where am I? Who are you?" Ryuu asked.

"One question at a time, please." It said.

Ryuu scratched his head shyly.

'Whoever it is, he speaks so casually, and yet just hearing him makes me feel like trembling.' He thought to himself.

"Anyway, all your questions will be answered once you go through that door."

A door opened up, creating a shadow in the bright place.

"What's on the other side?"

He curiously asked.

"Answers." He said, then Ryuu nodded.

"Before I go, I have to ask, why don't you have a body?"

"I outgrew the need for a body eons ago."

Once he was through speaking with the voice, Ryuu got up and entered the door.

"It's so dark." He thought to himself.

Ryuu tried going back but the door closed and once again he was stuck in an empty room.

The darkroom transformed and became an entirely different room.

It was a little stuffy a flat-screen TV and a carpet on it. There was two empty seat and the curtains were closed and the wall had cracks and bloodstains as if someone would continuously be punching it.

'Why does it feel so familiar? The air, my body, it's different but feels so familiar, even this room.'

"Is this my home?" He asked himself as he got up from his bed.

"You're finally awake." A familiar voice greeted Ryuu as he opened his eyes.

"Who are you?" He asked as he rubbed his head.

A tall man who was well built and had short dark hair looked at him with concern.

"You and I have a lot of recapping to do."

Ryuu nodded.

"For starters, we're brothers.

Right now I don't expect you to know anything so I'll start from the beginning."

Ryuu nodded.

He sat on an empty chair nearby.

"When we were young our parents left us without warning or goodbyes, I took responsibility and raise you, everything I did was for you, I didn't allow us to go to an orphanage so I started selling drugs and used that money to pay for our rent, and for some strange reason, I learned how to make a sword Hmph, I guess somethings don't change.

Anyway, I got lucky one day when I won the lottery, I used that money to send you to a university in Switzerland, meanwhile, I got a job as a bodyguard.

We used to be the loneliest kids none of us had friends or family, people would feel too ashamed to know us, we used to be assaulted and abused by anyone who had the chance."

Ryuu frowned as he started remembering his past life.

"The only thing that would comfort us was watching Naruto or watching movies and shows together, or playing with our dog.

Eventually, you grew up, and although you and I didn't spend that much time we used to go to the movies together anytime you had the chance."

'This story has a bad ending.' He said to himself.

"One stormy night, we went to watch a movie together, it felt just like old times, and that movie didn't disappoint too, it was one of the best movies we've seen."

Ryuu's eyes widened.

"I remember this day.

You walked me back home but on the way there we…" Ryuu's eyes widened.

'Could you be…'

Ryuu remembered that night...

"That was one of the best movies I've ever seen Krueger, we should do this more often." He nodded.

"That's right, but other than that how are you doing in this fancy school?"

Ryuu smiled shyly.

"You already know I'll never truly fit in, after I finish this and get a good job, I'll buy you a huge house and we'll live together, I'll take care of you like you've always taken care of me."

He smiled and nodded.

The two brothers enjoyed a good walk back home, Ryuu's house wasn't far from there and after a few minutes, they were near home.

"Well, I can't wait to finish up on this assignment so we can go to the theatre again right?"

He didn't respond.

A group of men were arguing ahead of us.

"What's going on?" He covered my mouth and pushed me away, he looked worried and he never does, he's always silent and calm.

"I'll never leave you alone, even in death I'll wait for you my brother, I promise."

He said in a low voice.

I tried seeing what he was looking at but he just shoved me back, the next thing I heard was a gunshot and his blood splashing on me.

"Krueger!" He shouted.

A group of men heard him and started looking for him.

"We have to take care of that kid, we don't want witnesses." One of them said.

"But we weren't supposed to kill anyone, this was supposed to be a quick and clean robbery, why did you kill him you fucking idiot?!" The other one said.

'They're arguing, this seems to be my chance!'

Ryuu tried to sneak past them but they were so many of them, he stepped on a plastic bottle by mistake and they were alerted.

"Shit!" He realized that this was the end and ran back to his brother, but just before he got there he got shot in the foot and in his chest.

'As I laid there slowly bleeding out, only one person came to my mind.'

"Krueger, don't go without me, you promised me you'll never leave me alone."

Tears were flowing through his eyes and with his last breath and strength, he forced himself to hold his brother's hand.

"Now, we will cross paths again, I promise."

He said. Ryuu's eyes closed.

"The next time I opened my eyes, I remember a bright light just like right now."

"So you finally remembered huh?"

Krueger asked.

I nodded.

"I remember everything, all the good memories and the bad ones, I remember them and I can see them, everyone who dies, Minato, even Kushina, I'll stop it all, I'll do whatever I can, and this time I mean it!" Ryuu tightly clenched his fist.

"Last time I was alive, I lost you but now I have a second chance and I won't waste it!" Rikuto nodded the two bumped fists.

"But do you remember the deal that happened between you and the reaper?" Ryuu shook his head.

"Let me remind you." I nodded.

"After I died, I was supposed to be given a second chance, to live in another world but in a different body, but I couldn't make that decision if it meant living without you.

I stayed here in the land where dead souls are given a chance or punished depending on how they live, time moves differently here, one minute to you Is one day here."

Ryuu's eyes widened.

"But eventually, you showed up, usually a soul is given ten perks and they choose what they want but mine were reduced, to seven because of my drug-dealing days.

No matter how good my intentions were, I still sold stuff knowing they were harming others."

Ryuu started to remember his time with the reaper.

"You and your brother are given choices, you can move to a world, any world of your imagination or something you've seen in a film, you will live in a new body and a new life, you can choose whether you want to enter with the knowledge you have or you can choose to abandon this knowledge and live as normal as can be."

The reaper said and we nodded, it seemed like a fair deal.

I glanced at Krueger and without saying a word we already knew where we wanted to be.

"We want to live in the world of Naruto!" They both said.

He slowly nodded and lead us through some portal or door using bright smoke to show us the way.

"Here, you have 7 wishes and your brother has 7 wishes, you can choose something to help you in your new life, but I will choose one for you, is that understood?" We nodded.

After discussing it for a while, we decided that I should go first.

"My first choice will be an ability to master all senjutsu, as for my second ability, I want to have all chakra affinities, and my third will be a large chakra pool with a regeneration ability,

My fourth ability will be none other than plot armor, now for my fifth ability, it will be my most important one yet.

I want to live in this world with my brother."

He widened his eyes.

"No, don't waste your wishes on me!" He tried telling me but I refused.

"I won't abandon you, after everything we've been through, I promise."

Krueger sighed and nodded.

"For my sixth wish, I want to be a hybrid of two great clans, Uzumaki and Uchiha clan, and my final wish, I want my Mangekyou Sharingan to have more abilities than any other."

The reaper kept quiet as if he was thinking about something then he answered.

"Fine, but I have one drawback, you can live with your brother, however, you will not have memories of his existence and your memories will fade the more you try to access them." Ryuu folded his fist.

"That's not fair!" Krueger grabbed his fist.

"It's alright, Calm down. Always such a bad temper, I hope you don't take it with you in your next life." Ryuu scoffed but continued.

"Your memories will be sealed and you have ten years to find them, if you can't find them within that time you will lose them all, this isn't up for discussion, is that clear?!" Ryuu and Krueger hesitantly nodded.

"As for your brother, because of his previous occupation he will have a hard life at first but eventually something will change him, I will decide his perks myself and he will have no idea." We nodded.

"And that's how all this happened, after that, I lived my life knowing that my name has changed from Krueger to Rikuto, I'm guessing the reason the first name that came to my mind was Krueger had to do with my previous life, but somehow your name remained the same, even after your death," Rikuto said.

"Well, all we have to do is go through that door and we'll be back with Kushina." I nodded.

"Before we go, I wanted to ask, what is Phoenix Flame?" Ryuu asked the reaper.

"Phoenix?" I nodded,

'could it be that even he doesn't know what it is or how it came by? And what is this feeling? It feels like someone is staring at me. Is it him? The reaper?'

"I see… you've been blessed, chosen as a vessel for something so powerful, it must've been a mistake, however, once it has a host, it will stick with them forever, but your's seems to be far more advanced than others, how strange."

Ryuu and Rikuto looked at each other then shrugged, they went through the portal and found Kushina sweating and panting.

"You guys are finally here, that book of yours was tearing itself up then it simply disappeared."

"Disappeared?" She nodded.

"Hello, Ryuu." He felt a presence in his head.
