From the stands, the Hokage was watching and analyzing the match preliminaries.
"I see Sakumo raised talented Shinobi, the odds are saying Ryuu will win, but people are underestimating Kakashi Hatake, his analysis is even above that of a jonin, anyway, let's wait and see," he said to himself.
The scoreboard started shuffling again.
"Might Guy Vs Amida Watanabe."
"Finally, now watch as your friend loses this, idiot."
(Sigh)
Ryuu sighed…
"Now get ready for me to display the power of youth!"
Guy said as he jumped from the stands.
"Keep quiet, you can't even use ninjutsu!" Tazumi shouted from the stands.
"Don't listen to him Guy, do your best!" Ryuu responded.
"I can't let Kakashi win, if I want to truly be his rival, ill also have to end this match quicker than his," he said to himself.
"He doesn't stand a chance against Amida, even without being from a noble clan in Konoha, she's as composed as a jonin, she'll always be one step ahead and she has the power to back it up, there's no way that failure will beat her."
Ryuu shook his head,
"Don't count Guy out, in terms of taijutsu and speed, he outclasses nearly all of us. He may be goofy sometimes, but he worked harder than any of us, and he'll prove it right here."
Both Guy and Amida were ready.
"Begin!"
Immediately Guy pressured her with taijutsu, she was already on the defence.
"Leaf whirlwind!"
He delivered a kick that sent a small wave of wind towards her.
she jumped into the air.
"Water Style: Water shuriken!"
She released shuriken made out of water and directed to Guy; they traveled faster than normal shuriken but he could dodge them all, although he got cut by one of them a little on his leg, making him fall to one knee.
"She's trying to keep the distance advantage, this used to be a problem for me but now…"
Guy stood up.
He weaved a hand sign.
"Fire-style fireball jutsu!"
He shot out a fireball, and everyone except Ryuu and Kakashi gasped, they didn't know Guy could use ninjutsu.
"He can use ninjutsu!?" Obito asked, Ryuu nodded.
"Of course, he can, although he's not strong in it, he still had to practice it.
"Water Style: Water dragon jutsu!"
They both collided, leaving an immense cloud of steam.
"I see…"
Ryuu said to himself as he watched closely.
"Third gate of life, open!"
The green vapor formed where Guy was, it was so bright you could see it through the steam.
"Is that chakra?" Obito asked, Ryuu shook his head.
"No, it's the results of his constant training and pushing beyond one's limits, the eight inner gates formation."
Obito tilted his head in confusion.
"Eight inner gates?" Ryuu nodded.
"The Eight Gates exist in order to limit the flow of chakra within an individual's body. Ordinarily, individuals can use only 20% of their body's full potential, the brain's way of protecting the individual from harming their body through overexertion. Individuals can learn to remove these limiters with training, known as opening the gates.
With each opened gate, people are given access to more and more of their body's chakra, thus increasing their physical strength and speed.
Guy is using the 3rd gate, his movements are so quick that even with my Sharingan it's hard to follow but anyway, just watch and see, this match will be over before you know it unless she has a counter-attack but judging from what I've seen, I highly doubt it."
Tazumi and Obito were shocked by what Ryuu said.
"Faster than the Sharingan!?" they said as they looked back at the match.
The steam had cleared out and now everyone could see better.
"Feel the power of youth!" Guy said as he moved so fast it looked like he teleported,
"Boom!" he sent her flying with a kick, she hit the wall hard, leaving multiple cracks on it.
"Excellent form Guy!" Ryuu said.
"Ha ha ha! Kakashi and Ryuu! I look forward to fighting you in the finals!"
He pointed at Ryuu, and he nodded back,
"He defeated her so easily, and yet they're all saying this bastard is more powerful than everyone!?" Tazumi looked at Ryuu in disbelief, he didn't want to accept it but he feared Ryuu.
The scoreboard shuffled again.
"Finally!"
Ryuu said as he looked at the scoreboard and saw his name.
"Ryuu Uchiha Vs Tazumi Uchiha."
Ryuu threw a kunai in the middle of the arena and teleported to it.
"I know I shouldn't let my emotions get ahead of me, but he spoke ill about my parents and I'm feeling a little pissed off about it, should I send a message?" Ryuu asked himself.
"Sigh" he activated his Sharingan.
Shikaku tapped on Ryuus's shoulder and he looked at him.
"Just don't go overboard, ok Ryuu?"
Ryuu smiled, "No promises."
Shikaku facepalmed.
"What a drag."
Tazumi finally reached the center of the arena,
he's trying to hide it, but I can see him shaking in fear, it's like he realized he was walking into an execution, Hmph, he's not wrong, I can kill him in an instant, and anyone who disrespects my family ever again, but that's too simple, hmph, the only difficult part of this fight will be deciding how it ends before it even starts, it kind of amuses me."
Ryuu watched Tazumi as he walked in.
"What's wrong? Have you realized how unbalanced this fight is?" Ryuu said with a smirk.
Tazumi frowned.
"Get ready to meet your parents again, you bastard!" Ryuu smiled and looked at him with a killing glare that sent a cold chill down his spine.
"Let the third match begin!"
Ryuu took out his sword and gripped it tightly then he did something no one expected.
"You brat! What do you think you're doing!?" Tazumi frustratedly asked.
"Making the fight interesting." He said as he lowered his forehead protector to cover his eyes, he also dropped his sword.
"Showoff." Both Obito and Kakashi said.
"This fight was over the moment it started, Ryuu has been in his head before the match even began, it's like he's been stuck in genjutsu made by his own hands, the only difficult part for Ryuu is finding out how he will end it."
"Fire style: Dragon flame jutsu!" Tazumi sent two dragons toward Ryuu.
"What an idiot." Ryuu didn't move and let them hit him,
"Boom!" He got hit with them both, but instead of a large explosion, it looked contained, as if it was absorbed.
"What an idiot! He blindfolded himself and yet he can't see!" Tazumi scoffed and wiped his sweat away.
"Yeah, he's not that tough makes you think about what's considered genius these days!"
People started hollering at Ryuu and Tazumi's fight.
"Is this all it takes to defeat you? You're really weak! just like your parents," Tazumi said.
Suddenly, the arena felt increasingly hot and the smoke from the previous explosion cleared up.
"You know, I feel a little bad for what I'm about to do, nowadays, I only like using it like a tramp card but it has to be done," he said as he stepped out with half of his body on fire.
"What the hell are you?" Tazumi asked as he was sweating again.
"Just like you said earlier, A Monster!" Ryuu teleported behind him, he grabbed his arms and burned them off, he then threw a kunai in the air and teleported with Tazumi.
He sent a kick to Tazumi's stomach, sending him to crash to the ground,
Ryuu teleported back near his sword and grabbed it.
Just as he teleported back to Tazumi, he got stopped by Shikaku.
"That's enough."
He nodded and put out his flames.
"Ryuu wins this round."
Ryuu teleported back to Kakashi.
"Nicely done Ryuu!" Kakashi congratulated him.
"But if you don't mind me asking, how didn't he burn fully when you kicked him? Correct me if I'm wrong but, all enemies who get close are burned, right?"
Ryuu nodded.
"When I was in Mt Myoboku I learned how to control Phoenix Flame better so now when I use it I can make the flames less or more powerful or make them only for defence." he nodded.
"Oh and Ryuu, there's something in your eye," Kakashi said.
Ryuu scratched his eye, hoping to remove whatever entered his eye, but was surprised when he saw dark ash fall out.
"How strange, that's not supposed to be there," he said.
When Ryuu looked up, the other fighters, were Afraid he could see it in their eyes.
The scoreboard shuffled again.
"Genma Shiranui Vs Sachi Aburame!"
No one moved or responded, instead, they all stared at Ryuu in fear.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"It seems everyone is afraid to fight you," Kakashi said.
"Damn it, I told him to hold back, this is such a drag now."
Shikaku said to himself.
He went to the Hokage.
"Hokage-sama, what should we do?"
He was smoking while watching us.
"He frightened all the other candidates, that can be quite troublesome."
He took a deep breath and put his pipe away, after that he whispered something in Shikakus' ear.
"Are you sure?" he nodded.
"Right now, we don't need shinobi who fear others, we need those who can fight and those who are brave enough to fight even when odds are against them, we can't have any signs of weakness." Shikaku nodded and went back to the center of the arena.
"Listen up! You all have one chance if you wish to become a chunin in this exam stand up, but if you do, understand that in the shinobi world sometimes you will fight someone who outclasses yourself in every way but those who don't stand up now will have another chance next time." No one responded, they were all unsure if they wanted to continue.
